  1. Thanks! How long is your extension cord?
  2. I haven't been on carnival since 2018, and back then it was included only on formal night. Hopefully still is.
  3. Buying cruise cash=one less thing to do while on the ship on vacation. As long as you know you'll spend it, and anything over the gift card amount goes on credit card, no visit to gs or kiosk needed. And, kiosks are sometimes finicky with gift cards
  4. The Disney Fantasy has a splash area (Nemo's Reef) that allows kids in swim diapers, and not potty trained. How are they able to allow this? (Honestly curious, no snark intended)
  5. Eastern standard or Eastern daylight?
  6. Try this https://cruisespotlight.com/drink-package-calculator/
  7. Just to add to this... if you have carnival gift cards that you know you'll use while on board, it's simpler to use them to buy cruise Cash than to add them to your account while on board. But, if used to buy crude Cash, it's non refundable. If added to your account, it'll be refunded if not used (as a gift card, not cash)
  8. We're looking at these also. Reviews I've read have not mentioned this as an issue.
  9. It's been awhile, but if I remember correctly, each adult guest can have a separate account, and can each choose to use credit or fund it with cash. You don't all have to choose the same method. OBC from the travel agent would be split between the first two guests listed on the stateroom. Purchased OBC from the fun shops (cruise cash) is non- refundable (use it or lose it). If you add cash to your account when you arrive at the port, or while on the ship, that is refundable if there is anything left. As long as your credit accounts can handle the extra temporary holds, this is by far the easiest and most convenient funding to use, and is set up during the on line check in. Chances are you'll never have to go to guest services regarding your account.
  10. Did you love the tomato soup or George Lopez?😉
  11. Thanks for taking your vacation time for this! 1. What was open and where did you eat for embarkation lunch? 2. How is the cove balcony? That's what we're looking at for next summer. Can you feel the movement of the ship at night? (We've booked cabins high up previously and would missed being rocked to sleep). 3. How did you get to the port? How'd it go? 4. Question inspired by the other thread on here... any issues with pot smoking?
  12. Do you have grandkids? Want to take them on a cruise? Disney has: 1. No casino 2. All entertainer is family friendly 3. MDR open for more meals, but less alternative options 4. A different main show each (or at least most) nights, 5. Costs a lot more
  13. Slight correction: they’re changing sea day brunch end time to noon. I agree about minimizing carry on luggage because you have to lug it around with you until the cabin is ready. But, you should carry on any medical equipment, medications you can’t do without, and bathing suits if you want to use the pool before luggage arrives (which may not be until very late in the afternoon, sometimes even early evening if something gets misplaced and they have to hunt it down (which has happened to me).
  14. A random cruiser can not send you a message. You have to put contact info into the app for your name to appear in the other person’s app. It’s pretty straightforward. Not sure about other languages, but I assume it’s no different than any other texting app.
  15. Ironic this came up here today. I just read about a study that showed a correlation between pot use and heart attacks in women below the age of 35. It’s everywhere these days, And disgusting. We already avoid going anywhere near the casino to not have to smell the tobacco. We’ll be very sad if we can’t avoid breathing in pot smoke. We did report a neighbor smoking on a balcony next door. Security came immediately and gave them a talking to. No more balcony smoking. Guest services thanked us for calling and asked us to call again if it continued because it was a fire hazard. Assuming pot smoking is just as much of a fire hazard, I’m be very surprised if it wasn’t taken seriously for this reason alone.
  16. Yes, the matra d will have a listing on the fun times on the first day when you board. Go at the beginning of the listed time. If the can accommodate you they will. Definitely worth a try.
  17. If all else fails, you can rent a car at the airport, drop off luggage and people, and return it to a location close to the hotel that does drop off service. Not the most convenient or cheapest, but it'll work if you're otherwise stuck.
  18. Sunset garden deck 3 forward. Great place to relax and read. Very quiet. Try the green slide. Sports deck and sky deck are best spots for sail away Serenity pool is the best pool on the ship. If you can't find a table in mermaids grill, take your food outside by the venus pool. It's not too windy and easier to find seats.
  19. There is no outside deck on deck 5. If I remember correctly, the Outside deck you're referring to is below deck 5 and for crew only.
  20. I think there’s a lot to be said for the all inclusive model. It really allows you to enjoy the experience to the full, without concern as to the cost every time you would like to do something. It thus makes the vacation into more of a bubble. However, market research shows over and over, that though people will say they prefer all inclusive, in general, when it comes time to making a purchase, they are more apt to choose the a la carte options, which will always be less money up front (and maybe less money overall). Experienced cruisers, who know their patterns, can estimate how much they would spend a la carte, and can make an informed decisions as to which is the better deal for them. With 6 cruises under my belt, I can say that I would not pay extra to have wifi, alcohol, or specialty dining included. Though, I would pay extra to have photos, room service (assuming high quality and speedy service), an 2x/day cabin service included.
  21. On sea days the MDR has the “brunch” which ends at noon (use to end later). This includes breakfast and lunch items. On port days (and disembarkation day), the MDR has a breakfast, though not sure until what time. There is no MDR “lunch.”
