But don't you know it's so much more fun to blame others when you catch the virus? If only folks would have followed this! Cruise lines should have implemented this! I wish I had the cruise ship to myself!

I purchased an Alaska cruise on August 10. The current sale is more than I paid less than a month ago. Why? Because kids don't sail free anymore - as with any sale, buyer beware.

Crazy...but if you want to go on this cruise, then go. And perhaps in the future, don't solicit opinions if you don't want to hear it (proof that you only came here seeking confirmation, not advice). But as an "educator," you already knew that...

I hope somebody answers your question, but I suspect nobody has this credit card since it's...awful. I mean, at least provide free cancellation protection on HAL cruises!

As a "younger" person (at least for HAL), I agree (for once) with the Florida_gal. 😛

I have these and I've used them on an Alaskan cruise - I second the recommendation. Based on this - listen to Heidi...and ignore anybody who says not to bring binoculars on an Alaska cruise!

Unfortunate for HAL as I certainly would never ask folks to book a cruise until the restrictions are lifted. Hopefully it will come soon.

We're booked on a Thanksgiving cruise visiting Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas, and Half Moon Cay. Trying to convince some folks to join us, but they are unvaxxed. Not a Philadelphia lawyer, but from a bit of research the unvaxxed won't be allowed off the ship in Grand Turk? I think the other ports are okay? Can somebody clarify since bookings are now non-refundable. Thanks in advance.

Assume you're referring to this video and the remarks starting at 3:05. Three things: It's an Alaska Cruise - most people spent their money to sightsee Alaska, and that's a bit hard to do when you've been up all night. Also...she's probably not wrong - I wouldn't know because I was asleep by 11 each night! And there's plenty of choice in cruise ships, and HAL is probably not for you (but you already knew that before you posted...)

I was thinking they don't want to make promises they won't be able to keep - as in some of their ships won't be around then.

Made MDR reservations for Koningsdam in June. Can't do it for Nieuw Statendam in November.

Nobody wants to pay more than the other guy, but here's what helps ease my mind... When you book airfare - the price you pay is the price you pay. No turning back. I feel a little bad for cruise ship TA's for having to field thousands of calls from folks who recheck their fares every day while airline TA's have their feet kicked up. Regarding tips...yeah, don't be that guy.

I know this might sound wild and crazy...but regarding activities and food on board...you could just try it, and if you don't like it, you can try something else. Mind blown?

What enrichment on a short New Year's cruise in the Caribbean? I'm not sure a showing of Cool Runnings on the Lido qualifies. As far as Club HAL. Technically your 18 year is too old anyway, but there isn't really a club for teens. Meaning, they meet once an evening on port days for one hour. On sea days, it's twice a day for one hour at a time. Good comments here in linked thread, and keep in mind this is from a newer, bigger ship. I'll put down a fiver that the older and smaller the ship, the less there is to do...for all ages.

The irony in all this: the vaccinated will have to jump through more hoops than the unvaxxed, as they still have to "provide evidence of vaccination status prior to embarkation." HAL: Vaxxed folks - show me your papers! Unvaxxed folks - undated blurry photos showing only a blue line are a-okay!
