  1. Can anyone currently or previously on board tell me about the state (operating or not) of the library? My husband likes to bring a lot of books, read them and then donate them to the library.
  2. We are not in this situation yet, but I have just finished isolation post Covid and my husband has just tested +ve after two days of symptoms. We sail on Coral Princess from Sydney on 22 August, having left NZ the day before. I have tried searching the forum for an answer. What will be the outcome if, having recovered, either one or both of us still return a +ve RAT immediately before boarding? Anyone with experience or knowledge of this situation? Anyone point me to some official info for this particular situation, rather than the stock standard "If you test positive you will be denied boarding". I'm thinking perhaps a doctors letter, or documentation from our Ministry of Health covid department. And I'm fearful that despite an official clearance by the Head Office, a "jobsworthy" at the pier will still deny boarding. Cheers, Megan.
  3. I have to be grateful - one less stop in Sydney, therefore an extra day at sea, less chance of repeat menus in the MDR, and no need for a RAT after three days with possibility of being offloaded if I test positive. I have great sympathy for all the call centre staff and other admin staff at Princess, who will have to deal with this change - the logistics of it boggles my mind. I am onboard for 12 days - I don't care where, as long as I'm there.
  4. VOYAGE REDEPLOYMENT - CORAL PRINCESS Due to berth availability in Sydney, the 3-day Sapphire Coast Seacation departing on Monday, 22 August 2022 and the 4-day Moreton Island Seacation departing on Thursday, 25 August have been combined into a single 7-day Sapphire & Hunter Coast with Moreton Island voyage departing on Monday, 22 August and returning Monday, August 29. This updated voyage will visit Eden, Newcastle, and Moreton Island.
  5. The trip is do-able of you're docking in Tauranga, about 2 hrs each way, or Auckland about 2.5 each way. But you'd really want to be in port all day to allow time to visit the caves ( about 2 hours).
  6. Yes, it is too far away. About 10hrs round trip. 494 kms so 5 hours at the legal speed limit of 100km/h.
  7. Its obviously a "hit and miss" procedure. After my posts above, I applied for my two cruises on a Tuesday and had a reply the following Saturday. OBC was granted for the first cruise as it was less than 90 days from sailing, but the second cruise not, as I had applied too early.
  8. I am guessing they won't cancel any of the longer cruises until they have arranged shorter replacement to transfer passengers to. The last thing they want is for passengers to cancel rather than swap. And it takes time and much effort to arrange alternative ports, booking piers, organizing provisioning and bunkering, port tours etc.
  9. I have read on another forum that the Aus govt has just limited cruises to a maximum of 8 days. Not sure where the poster got his info, but it might be true? "The problem lies with the Australian government. they have banned all cruises greater than 8 days!!!!!! Nice of them to tell us!"
  10. I didn't read the email carefully. Replacement cruise is April 2024. I'll have to book some more to fill the gap next year.
  11. !2 days Conflict Islands August 22 replaced with 3 days Sapphire coast , 4 days Moreton Island, 5 days Hunter and Sapphire coast. Now to investigate those places!
  12. I just want to cruise again, I can take three short cruises. I don't really care where we're going. Three lots of elite benefits, three lots of shareholder OBC. Already paid for airfares, hotel, arranged leave etc.
  13. Our Majestic to Hong Kong March 23 is replace with Royal to Yokohama in April 23. Our 12 day on Coral to Confict Islands from Sydney August 22 has been replaced with three short cruises "Due to deployment changes and operational considerations, your 12-day cruise has been cancelled and will now be three separate voyages: a 3-day voyage departing on 22 August 2022, a 4-day voyage departing on 25 August, and a 5-day voyage departing on 29 August." I haven't any clue yet where they're going, but I don't really care, I just want to cruise again.
  14. You will see much more of what you want to see, with the first cruise you mention.
  15. And P&O have two specialty restaurants that are free - asian-based Dragon Lady and italian Angelo's. Bookings almost essential. So four choices for included meals.
  16. Yes, I just did it, and got an immediate (if automated) response, to the effect that my email had been received. I sent it to shareholderbenefit@carnivalaustralia.com as advised on this thread. The automated reply came from the P&O Shareholder Team.
  17. Okay wise ones, before I embark on the task of applying for the benefit for the first time, can I please have a clarification on the following wording ... "(for example, photocopy of shareholder proxy card, a dividend tax voucher or a current brokerage or nominee statement with your current mailing address and your brokerage account number blacked out)" Does this mean - your mailing address showing and your ac# blacked out, OR both your mailing address and your ac# blacked out? TIA
  18. Ahhhh, probably not what you're alluding to, but twice-cooked goats cheese souffle, AND eggplant parmigiana, AND chicken curry lunch with all the condiments
  19. Success, I hope! My PCP got back to me with 5 mins of my email, in fact the phone rang while I was typing my last post. The $88 was supposedly something I had bought to do with the Ocean Medallion, except I hadn't, I 'd just been in there to look, and that was several days after the charge was added to my credit card. My PCP has reversed the charge. He is investigating the second problem with the On-board credit, he can't immediately see the the cause, but he'll get back to me within the next day. Can't fault the service I am getting from him.
  20. Yes, I could understand if , from a specified date, new bookings didn't qualify, but the cruise mentioned had been booked for what was effectively years! Cancelled, moved over, changed ships etc since mid 2020. I wouldn't have thought that they would give it and take it away again. And not only have they taken it away, but they've reduced my FCD credit by 50%. Anyway, I've emailed my PCP, and await a reply.
  21. No, no excursions, no dinners, no spa treatments, nothing. Another interesting thing. I have another cruise booked on the Majestic for March. Because of the above problem, I checked on my booking/payments for that cruise. My on-board credits have been reduced by half as well. I have the credit for the FCD $100, and Customer Loyalty credit shows minus $50 leaving a total credit of $50.
  22. We are travelling on Coral Princess in August. I paid in full, including the credit card charge, two weeks ago. Now there is a random debit from my credit card for a further $88. I know, I need to contact Princess about this, but has anyone else had this happen? Fuel surcharge? I'd just like to have been notified.
  23. I know it used to be possible with P&O Aus, with the payment of $50. Booked on the Coral Princess in late August. Now its possible that my husband may be unable to go, and I may take one of my adult children instead. Anybody been in this position before? Details of your experience would be appreciated. And, yes, I know I can ring Princess and find out, but sometimes things get lost in translation.
