  1. Try selecting 1 or 3 guests instead of two, and see what comes up. Not that it will help, but it might give an indication of the number of cabins left overall.
  2. Forgive me for being perhaps "thick" but does that leaflet show that (standard fare) If I have elected to pay for OceanNow, I can have food delivered anywhere on the ship for the whole cruise, or anywhere except for my cabin, for which I will have to pay another $7.50 every time? Or is the $7.50 only if I phone in the order from my cabin?
  3. Have you been notified of any changes? I am also in NZ and haven't heard anything. @AJCM says "They’ve also increased the excess from $350 to $500" We in NZ must be on a different set of conditions, or completely behind the 8 ball. My excess has always been $200. Also, a little known fact - if you are going to incur a fee for paying by credit card, (Princess charge 1.1%) they allow you to pay by debit card, or internet banking, as long as the accounts are also held with ANZ.
  4. If she booked from Canada the price she pays for Princess Plus will be in USD ($60 per day) and the gratuities will be included as part of the package. If she had booked as a standard fare, gratuities are payable. If she had booked in Aussie, gratuities are not payable as they are included in the standard fare, and the package would cost AUD65 per day.
  5. I was fiddling around in the app looking for something else, and it appears I may have the same glitch as yourself. (See screenshot on the above post) It shows that I have bought the package, when I haven't. There must be a glitch in the system. I won't be trying to benefit by it.
  6. I recognize that you have asked the same question/made the same complaint on the Princess Cruises Passenger Complaints Forum on FB. I asked you a question there about the onboard currency for both cruises. If the first cruise (SYD - Van) is in AUD, I think the problem may lie there, in that you were offered the package at the USD price ( without it stating that, because it is the default currency)and seeing the second cruise is the only USD cruise that's what you got. Do you think that may be the reason for the mix-up?
  7. Given where its coming from, ABF may be a bit more thorough with disembarking passengers. I would opt for the later flight. Re the transfer, it depends whether you opt for "cheaper" or "more convenient" . I would opt for the latter and get the ship transfer.
  8. Unfortunately they don't offer "free to cruise terminal shuttle" any more, now they offer "free to airport shuttle".
  9. Probably better to ask in the Celebrity forum.
  10. I applied to the Princess email for mine Tuesday this week, it was in my personalizer Thursday. But no correspondence from Princess Australia, not even an automatic acknowledgment of having received my email. I got an updated booking confirmation later Thursday evening with the extra OBC showing.
  11. ANZ credit card insurance ( and quite a few others) covers the vehicle excess up to $6000, but you would have to purchase the cover from the rental company first.
  12. If you purchase onboard it will come off your OBC.
  13. Hi Hammo, as a resident of Martinborough, I was interested in helping you with your query. So I tried to find out how long you are in port. Oasis of the Seas appears to be situated in the Caribbean. Do you mean Brilliance OTS in February? 0730 to 1730. At best you will not be on the road until 9am, allow 90 mins at the least to get to Martinborough, so that's 10.30. You would have to be back in Welly by 3.30 to drop off the car and get back to the ship, (allow 1hr )and all aboard will be 1630 -1700. So you would have to leave Martinborough at the latest by 2pm. This is presuming there are no traffic delays. In the last 5 times I have attempted the journey since November, I have made it on time twice. Once the hill was closed by an accident, 6 hr delay, so I turned around and went home. Second was a delay of 2 hours and I was already on the hill, I couldn't turn around so I had to wait. Third time it was a hold up accident on the Wellington side at Kaitoke. Personally, I wouldn't risk it. The alternative route out of Martinborough to Wellington is via Palmerston North, add 4 hours for that. If the very worst happened, you could drive to the next port, Napier. The drive time is 5-6 hours.
  14. Right at the bottom of - Section 1.5 "There is no cover for claims arising from any lockdowns, changes in government alert levels, quarantine or mandatory isolation that applies generally or broadly to some or all of a population, vessel or geographical area, or that applies based on where You are travelling to, from, or through."
  15. Picked up an Uber from the end of the drop off zone mid-November, no problem. Driver was pleased as he had just dropped someone off, who was on the next cruise.
  16. A couple of bits cut and pasted from the letter distributed to current passengers - "As you are aware, we were required by New Zealand authorities to undertake a hull clean to remove a recently discovered, high-risk species before we could enter New Zealand. As a successful hull clean is weather dependent, whilst we were initially optimistic the forecast would allow us to complete this work safely, unfortunately the weather has not aligned with the predicted forecast and conditions dramatically changed upon the divers entering the water. Similar weather conditions are also forecast for the coming days making the possibility of further cleaning very remote. As a result, we have not been able to safely complete the required additional cleaning of the ship’s hull. With New Zealand’s strict biosecurity requirements, this unfortunately means the ship cannot receive clearance to enter New Zealand and we are unable to continue with a New Zealand itinerary." "The ship had undergone multiple inspections in the months leading up to this New Zealand cruise, however it was only during the final inspection that the high-risk species was located and unfortunately, the change to the forecast weather conditions has not been in our favour to be able to remove it." Edited to add, the underlining is mine.
  17. Yes, two minutes silence plus playing of last post etc on Majestic Princess anchored off Mystery Island.
  18. If there are just two of you, I highly recommend Great Southern Trike Tours in Eden. We had an absolutely fabulous half-hour tour on the trike around the town, and out into the countryside. Book online, pay cash on the day. Pick up and return to the pier. Shane and Mandy really looked after us. https://greatsoutherntriketours.com.au/ or on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063534278596
  19. I'm disembarking a Princess ship in Yokohama. How much is a plain transfer to Narita? Currently can only see the price for a disembark tour of 4.5 - 5 hours, and am on a waitlist for that, 6 months out. It seems expensive to me (yes, I know, its Japan!) so I'd like to know in comparison.TIA
  20. Yes, it is a late booking, just 3 weeks ago, and the figures are NZD not AUD, so there's a 10% difference there as well.
  21. Thank you for answering the question. Succinct and to the point.
  22. Thanks, 1) I was unaware exactly what the US amount was, 25/50/100 or 20/40/80. Previously (2018) the amount of USD I was buying with my NZD was stated. 2) Have no idea, all my dealings with Princess re the fare have been quoted only in NZD 3) Yes, that turns out to be a very good exchange rate, also given we are having a General Election today which will probably result in the rate hitting 54c to the NZD or less.
