  1. Thank you, that is the exact info I was requiring.
  2. Hi there, just going through the same dilemma for an upcoming cruise. Can you tell me how it all panned out? Did you get US$100 or US$90 for your NZD - currently NZD155.
  3. Thank you! That was very helpful! Although the final poster had a further dilemma. I wonder how it all panned out?
  4. Cruising from New Zealand, ship with US dollars as onboard currency. I am seeing this when I go to the relevant space on my cruise personaliser, but there is no indication of exactly how many US dollars OBC I am getting for my NZ dollars. Can anyone let me know? Please, I don't need advice or opinions as to whether I should buy OBC.
  5. I am seeing this when I go to the relevant space on my cruise personaliser, but there is no indication of exactly how many US dollars OBC I am getting for my NZ dollars. Can anyone let me know? Probably only seen by a cruiser from the US. Just to add, I don't need any advice or opinions on whether or not I should buy OBC, just the number!
  6. Ambience has a very reasonably priced RTW coming up in Jan '24, lots of different sectors, with some unusual ports including Tristan Da Cuhna.
  7. We stayed here this time last year, probably wouldn't again. It was a Sunday night, not too noisy after 9.30 when the music stopped. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I loved the old carved wood, cast iron and tiled fireplace in our room. The bathroom was almost as big as the bedroom. Its only three floors but there is no lift (wasn't expecting one) The stairs are narrow and steep, and I had a bit of difficulty. Just be aware that there are not many rooms ensuite, many have a shared bathroom.
  8. Disclaimer - I have not stayed there yet! Booked the Great Southern in George St for one night pre-cruise in April '24. $130 NZD. It has a 'good' rating, but the reviews are pretty good, and we don't need luxury, just a bed. Very handy to Central Station, and a Woolies Metro just round the corner for last minute supplies. I couldn't believe that Rydges on the Rocks wanted $510NZD for the same night. I know its very handy to the OPT but $380 for the privilege is ridiculous.
  9. I am on that cruise, too, and I've just checked - I'm getting that message too. Perhaps they no longer offer - now they are pushing hard the alcohol packages.
  10. If you want to book shore excursions pre-boarding with Princess, they will first take the money from any OBC you might have, then they want the balance paid to secure your booking. If you want to do this you need to register a credit card beforehand. Ditto wi-fi, specialty dining, they want payment straight away, and OBC is no good for that pre-boarding. Just FYI.
  11. Oh, okay, this release was dated 24/08/2023, so I presume it was as reaction to the Aus govt change of protocol, as it now doesn't mention travellers from Australia.
  12. Well, I HAD to check that. Up until 4 days ago, New Zealand did too, but latest from https://covid19.govt.nz/international-travel/ "Travellers and crew do not need pre-departure tests or proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter New Zealand. Check with your airline or cruise provider as they may still require proof of vaccination." So, there you go!
  13. Do you still have your passport from back then? Those days you had your passport stamped going out and coming back. It may jog your memory. I did this to fill in my previous cruise days for Captain's circle.
  14. Thank you! its not quite as easy to say as FUBAR or SABU, but still relevant to the forum.
  15. Please, from a stranger thousands of miles away, (I've even googled it) what does TIPWTA stand for?
  16. And you are in a balcony or suite? Then you should have $300 OBC per person or Princess is doing you out of it.
  17. Have they given you 2 x the max OBC for the 22 day cruise each?
  18. Okay, on further investigation, there is much more restriction on the use of OBC on P&O Australia, not Princess, and casino, bingo and medical are excluded.
  19. "Are you able to offset gambling charges with OBC on Carnival cruises based out of Australia like you can with the US cruises?" I was under the impression you couldn't use OBC to offset casino, bingo, and medical expenses, but someone may come in here and make a liar out of me.
  20. And International cafe, and burgers and slice pizza on the Lido deck.
  21. Forgive me my sin - I am a vaper and I vape in my stateroom. That piece in the passage contract has been there from at least as far back as the beginning of 2016 when I went on my first Princess cruise, which happened to call in to Singapore. Little did I know that Singapore had out-lawed vaping of any kind from 1 January 2016. My vape was discovered in my handbag by xray at the port and I had to return it to the ship, just about missed my excursion.
  22. Shareholder OBC, military OBC, OBC from Future Cruise deposit, booking incentive on higher grade cabins, cruiseline past passenger recognition, travel agent gift, last cruise botch-up OBC. I've been the recipient of (or travelling with a qualifying cabinmate) all of these, but not all at once!
  23. I'm not sure. The previous physical cards had a section for passengers in transit. I guess the online form will have similar. However, if you stay airside, you don't actually "enter" NZ, maybe not! I really don't know.
  24. We are in the process of replacing the card with an online form. Hoping the new system will be up and running smoothly by the time you arrive. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/travel/new-zealand-traveller-declaration-to-replace-passenger-arrival-cards-from-june/6ZWZZGLSWFHWJLLXLPRJM4D2WA/
