  1. Came across this article on Cruise Critic about new menus and portion sizes on Carnival. Maybe it isn't so bad that Celebrity is trying to position themselves with the competitors. https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/carnival-dishes-new-main-dining-room-menu-enhancements?
  2. Interesting article on CC: https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/carnival-dishes-new-main-dining-room-menu-enhancements?
  3. This is our fear as well, that it is indicative of cuts across all areas of the cruise. We have 3 cruises booked, one on Equinox in September that is well past final payment date and 2 on Beyond next year. Our decision on the Beyond sailings will be influenced by the service and experience on Equinox. We sail in the retreat but do enjoy an occasional appetizer or entre from the MDR when available, especially the escargot and shrimp.
  4. In reply to the original question, yes, I think it is, espcially after the response I got about Celebirty trying to position themselves in line with their competitors reagarding the menu changes in the MDR.
  5. I never, after 25 Celebrity cruises, though I would be posting this. What do you like about Oceania? What sets it apart? Can you compare it to other lines, especially Celebrity. If you were jumping ship why would it be to Oceania? Anything else you can share for someone very disappointed in her favorite cruise line?
  6. No response to my email but did get this in response to messinger. Hi there, thank you for your reply. Celebrity Cruises is constantly reviewing our competitive environment and this adjustments positions us in line with our competitors. We thank you for your feedback, your input will be shared with the proper teams. You sent In my opinion Celebrity was always a step above. What lines do you envision as your competitors? Do you want to be Royal Caribbean, or Carnival? If so, you just lost us as cruisers. Please feel free to share my input with your team. In the mean time I'm looking at other lines after our Equinox cruise for the reason state. Who knows where you and I will land but I feel Celebrity is taking 5 steps back wards to position in line with your competitor and I don't like it.. Sent 1m ago
  7. For all the good it will do, I just emailed Celebrity. Thanks for the email address.
  8. Yes, the app is often wrong but for it to be this wrong and have confirmation from someone on board right now? How wrong do you think it can be. As far as subsequent nights on this cruise, it's very easy to ask to see the menu going forward. I don't care about the lobster either but if they are still serving Caribbean lobster with a $17 up charge that is just wrong.
  9. What is the email address for Celebtity's new CEO?
  10. Oh, you must have missed it at the buffet. Truly mystery meat.
  11. Double cheeseburger? What's next grilled Velveeta cheese and Campbell's tomato soup made with natural spring water from a can?
  12. I had to call about 2 months ago to have the reduction applied to our crusie.
  13. I'm not sure of your point. Suites are always going to be more expensive than Aqua class. Newer E class will be more expensive than M class, especially if the ship has not been revolutionized. Different itineraries are going to have different PP/PD rates across the same class ships in the same cabin category. For example, our 2 cruises in a PH have a PD rate difference of $420 PP/PD. One is on Equinox the other on Beyond. There is a $320 PP/PD difference between a PH and RS on Beyond (different sailings but the same itinerary). Posting a comparison is meaningless given the number of ships, categories and itineraries.
  14. I hate to see too much food and know I'm going to waist it. I hope we can ask them to cut the portions down to 1 person vs 2.
  15. How about a webinar with the new president worth 5 points. It would be well worth it.
  16. Check the evening menus for Sushi on 5 in the app. Scroll across the days and if there is a Taj dinner it will show the menu and date. You cannot book it pre cruise and it is pretty popular so ask when you board. I think the price is $49 PP + gratuity.
  17. Can I ask in all seriousness, why are you not cancelling the next 3 cruises on Celebirty if you are ready to move on, or are lowering your expectations?
  18. Celebrity used to have a Lift and Shift program but that is long ended unless Celebrity cancels your cruise. If you are unable to take the cruise and it is before the 90 day deadline you have 2 options right now. Forfeit the entire deposit. Or, move the sailing to a different date and/or ship, keeping the same booking number. In this case you would lose $100 PP from the deposit. The new cancellation deadlines would coincide with the new sailing.
  19. Amenities and Perks are different. There is a big perk difference between a Sky/Celebrity Suite and a Royal Suite. The RS includes the bar set up, mini bar, laundry, unlimited specialty dining and a few other amenities. These are not part of a Celebrity or Sky Suite. All of the suites, including Sky Suites, come with the beverage package, WiFi, prepaid gratuities, and On Board Credit as perks. You do not get these perks with a move up bid. If you move up to a RS or above you get the amenities.
  20. I haven't been on the revolutionized M class ships. I don't remember them pre revolution. I know there was one in the Edge PH over the coffee table that my husband was always bumping into. Also in the Cafe on S class ships. Again, never an issue for me. 🤩
  21. @Jim_Iain gave a good analysis of the differences between the classes. We prefer the M & S class retreat lounge to E class. Our only time on Edge we felt that there was no personal attention. However, I've never hit my head on any of the light fixtures, too short for that kind of thing.
  22. I liked the aqua panna and San Pelegrino. The cans were fine. Can't stand Evian, would rather drink the ships water as long as it is ice cold.
  23. It's hard to remember the service we had when we started sailing in suites, except for our butler Boris in our first sky suite in 2011. We have gradually moved up in suite levels to the point that we sail in RS or PH but I can say we have rarely been disappointed in the service with one exception. It wasn't that the service was bad, it was just a job. But, we have observed that the higher the suite level the more attentive the butler is.
  24. Can you clarify please? The amount of a Refundable deposit was more than $2000 per person? Or was the price difference $2000 for refundable vs non refundable. Again per person or total. If you move the booking to another ship or sailing date, is there a per person change fee or is the whole deposit lost? Thanks.
