  1. How about the cream filled pastry swans. A lot of work went into them and they didn't taste too bad either.
  2. Overall we saw no major difference pre and post covid. The only think that changed was the push by the butler to have you go the Retreat lounge for afternoon snacks rather than delivering something to your suite. This didn't bother us because it was less calories and we didn't gain any weight. Service in Luminae was rushed unless we went later but this was a fully booked New Year's cruise.
  3. Calling might not be the only way but it is the best way to handle it. Otherwise, you could end up with a brand new booking. You will keep the OBC for booking on board but the amount can change if the length of the cruise or cabin type changes. Any other OBC as the result of a promotion when you booked will be subject to the current offer. It is a $100 PP change fee. Make sure you keep the same booking number.
  4. If the coffee card is available, why do you have to be so quiet/sneaky when inquiring about it?
  5. No does not sound accurate. Yes, you would get back the cost of the beverage package and port fees and taxes. Did you purchase Celebrity's insurance? If so, I think you get 90% of the cruise fare back as a FCC. If not, then you would lose the cost of the cruise. I think you can do one name change within a certain time frame.
  6. If your FIL has a celebrity account sign in on the app. The location of the muster station should be listed.
  7. Yes, the priority dop off is not mandatory. If you are traveling in the same vehicle you can all get off at the priority drop off area and I'm sure the porter would take all the luggage.
  8. We are on this cruise and the port times are correct. San Juan is always a late arrival and later departure.
  9. Celebrity is notorious for not updating, whether it is the web site, emails, verbiage in documents. You are correct in your understanding, they no longer mail luggage tags so you will need to print them or have the porters provide them.
  10. We didn't experience any lines since we don't frequent bars during the day. However, when we choose to stay on board and go to a specialty restaurant for lunch (Sushi on 5) we anticipate having a glass of wine with lunch. Even Michaels club was not offering any adult beverages, unless you were a beer drinker then the cooler was open to help yourself. I was really tempted to go behind the bar and help myself to one of the open bottles of wine. This was on Reflection over New Year's.
  11. When we cruised in December the port had some new staff. One tried to direct me to the escalators. Luckily we had sailed out of there many times and knew where we should be going. She was not reading the word "suite" on our boarding pass. Other than that it has been seamless, best terminal we've been to.
  12. @ehallGlad you got another flight, it's nerve wracking for sure. Enjoy your cruise and warm weather.
  13. I couldn't agree more, unless it is on Southwest, which is our only non stop option. $3300 later we were able to get on another airline 2 days later and made our New Year's cruise. SW did reimburse us for the flight and refunded us the cost of the SW ticket.
  14. As far as I know, no. You can change from refundable to nonrefundable but not from non refundable to refundable.
  15. It is still free for suites. Otherwise $9.95 + 18% gratuity per order, except for Continental breakfast.
  16. With all of the changes to dining on Celebrity, Royal is soon going to overtake Celebrity in the food category. Having never sailed Royal I can't say how the food quality and taste compares to Celebrity but Royal's new MDR menus look pretty good.
  17. If for some reason you cannot get to the boarding time without the passport information just put in the info from his current passport, as long as it is not expired already. You can change it later.
  18. We requested 2 blankets for use on our balcony when we were in Alaska.
  19. Yes but it might be better to put it in your carry on to avoid Celebrity holding your luggage to check out the content of the medicine bottle. You would have to go down to whereever they opened the suitcase for the inspection.
  20. The buffet experience might not be the same on M vs S vs E class but that is no reason to expect a lesser food offering or quality.
  21. Yes, you've missed something. We stay on the ship and enjoy the quiet. We go to a restaurant for lunch, in this case Sushi on 5. We enjoy a glass of wine with lunch. After at least 6 cruises with stops in GC this is the 1st time we have not been able to have wine at lunch. Even the Retreat Lounge (Michael's Club) was shut down. Then to be told that this is a GC regulation, BUT, another cruise line today reported that multiple bars were open is just another nail in the coffin with Celebrity's cuts.
  22. Someone on the FB page I quoted is on Apex and said there are several bars open today in GC. The App is showing 4 bars plus the Retreat Lounge being open right now.
  23. Interesting post on FB group from someone on Norwegian Dawn who took a picture of Apex anchored nearby. She was asked about the bars being open on Dawn. Here are her replies. Response from poster on Dawn when asked about the open bars on the ship: "we’re not on the Apex. We’re on Norwegian Dawn. The bars on our ship are all open. I’m guessing will be same on Apex." My response to her: "Interesting. Celebrity has only had one bar open while anchored in GC. According to Celebrity it is a new law in GC limiting ships to only one open bar." Her reply: "very strange. We have 2 to 3 running during day plus the ones in restaurants then the rest open from around 5pm. Same whether in ports or not. The usual ones were open when we docked this morning." Sort of adds credence to the licensing theory.
