  2. Unexpected good news i submitted my claim to the port i just got very generous offer!!! only about 500 less than I requested offer is thousands
  3. Prefer the others not big on faux leather handles
  4. I love every aspect of regent except the included excursions. IMO they are awful if a port is important to us we book a private tour have low expectations my husband has mobility issues. Unless it’s an accessible tour or a panoramic bus tour people with mobility issues should not expect regent tours to be suitable
  5. I have been on Splendor and Voyager -- I am also a big fan of Regent.
  6. We are lucky to be on 3 upcoming cruises the old inaugural bcn to Mia then there is a 5 day break to showcase the ship to vips and travel agents. After that we board again for 7 days in Caribbean and then through the Panama Canal.
  7. it’s the same Wendy. I called her 10 days ago and she was helpful. I just emailed my claim to her. give her time to respond
  8. I just submitted my claim to the Port contact. It just so happens that when I was trying to determine if my third bag was ever recovered from the water, the person whose name Cunard provided was the person who helped me determine that the 3rd bag was never recovered. She was very sympathetic and very helpful. Of course, she will only implementing a policy determined by the powers that be -- but at least we are dealing with someone who will respond and communicate. My "legal" opinion -- it was clearly the fault of the stevedores and their employer ( I assume the Port) should compensate us. I am sure they have insurance. Of course, they could try to classify the awful weather as an "Act of God." However, fact that Cunard is not compensating us and then seeking to recover from the Port is disgraceful. That is what should have happened.
  9. Great attorneys don’t come cheap 😁
  10. I am a retired attorney. The cost of suing is not worth it, even in US. Not a viable option
  11. Just got official letter from Cunard not their fault as a gesture of good will they are sending me 500 per bag the told me submit claim to port I cannot write what I am thinking
  12. Hard to do from Arizona. My ta is getting involved He is very very connected and is fuming

  14. Every homeowner’s policy has a list of covered perils regardless of deductible
  15. The issue with a homeowner's policy is whether the loss is a covered peril. If my luggage had been stolen at the pier I would have had coverage.
  16. This speaks VOLUMES about Cunard. Disgraceful doesn't even begin to describe their attitude. I am a retired attorney. You are at the mercy of a contract of adhesion. The cost to sue the longshoremen is prohibitive. They know it. Venue is in NY. They won't pay voluntarily. Cunard should be paying the claims and recovering from the longshoremen. It's a pittance compared to their quarterly profits. Cunard really stinks. I honestly cannot believe they are taking this attitude. My homeowner's insurance only pays for "covered perils" for losses outside the home. The bags going into the water is not a covered peril. My Chase Sapphire Reserve card will cover what Cunard doesn't up to 3000 pp. I am not sure what kind of proof of loss they will require. Obviously I don't have receipts for most of what I lost. I am guessing it will be a struggle. And even that wont cover my entire loss. Makes me sick to my stomach.
  17. It’s not health I'm over it i salvaged what I could
  18. Never occurred to me. We spent three weeks in Egypt. Stayed in Cairo for a week. I’m sure ur disappointed
  19. There is nothing there except lovely modern library. On my March cruise on Whisper they have substituted Heraklion for Alexandria and I am overjoyed. Heraklion is fabulous. I spent a full week on Crete decades ago.
  20. Laundry update: The color run remover does not work The red dye was really invasive.
  21. The latest: I called Cunard and spoke to someone who was quite helpful Using my booking number she did a bit of research and told me a claim was already set up for me. I don't know if it was set up because I sent an email or because they have the list of passengers who were affected (from the forms we filled out). The rep assured me that they are "working on it." She also advised hit is very complicated (duh?) She advised me to send my claim to the email address for claims that was provided. That's what I will do.
  22. Do you have email for the insurance rep? reviewed laughable
  23. We have no privity with the longshoremen. Our recourse is with Cunard
  24. fyi I sent an email to claims address provided by Cunard asking about the procedure for filing a claim. Is there a form? What is required. NO RESPONSE.
