  1. We packed a few of the wine bottles in a bag that went with the porters and a couple in the carryon we kept with us. They were heavy in my carryon. We could not get in the suite until 1:30, so we had it with us. They Lido was VERY crowded before the call that rooms were ready. It was difficult to find a place to sit and eat.
  2. That question requires a long answer. My initial reaction is that Olden was the favorite port of everyone I talked to. ANYTHING you do in that port will be a good thing, if it suites your tastes. I'll put more work into this later.
  3. We just returned from the Pride cruise to Norway. I don't know if I will write a proper Review or not, but I can answer questions. 1.) YES you can bring wine, beer, alcohol on board at the beginning of the cruise or at any port. No one looks or cares. We brought on 5 bottles of wine we purchased in London at Dover and a few beers we bought at a grocery in Haugesund. No problems. The only issue is the wine and alcohol are available only at a certain store and there are not many during the cruise. I would not count on that AT ALL. 2.) We had an Ocean Suite and we had 4 lamps that each contained 2 USB ports. I don't know what the other burning questions are. Renee
  4. Alas, I will be missing your last few days. It's time to get our flight to London for the Pride's NEXT sailing. I've enjoyed the review. 🙂
  5. Sometimes I play along but play dumb. My husband sells sports equipment and gives me balls for my class. Other classes were being mean to my (special ed) students. I said that if they aren't nice to us, we won't let them play with our McNutt balls. I can say it with a completely straight face. They struggled to maintain their composure. It was awesome. (When you teach middle school, you use a different vocabulary.
  6. I have been teaching middle school for a few years now. And my last name is McNutt. So, bonus pay?
  7. A long time ago, our first cruise was on Celebrity. They had a lunch buffet many days in the adult only area. The food followed the theme in the Lido Buffet, but was skewed to the healthier side. Is there anywhere on Spirit Class ships that they serve a small buffet breakfast or lunch? In January 2020, we were on the Magic and I think I remember finding a small buffet breakfast next to the Alchemy bar. My memory of it is very hazy. I didn't know about the buffet until the end of the cruise, unfortunately, since the Lido was always crazy.
  8. I started this thread and am bumping it again because I will finally get to sail on her this June! Kwokpot put it beautifully that I am just looking for information unique to this class of ship that could add to my experience.
  9. I'm curious why you feel this way. (I'm being genuine. We haven't sailed on her yet. Scheduled for June.)
  10. Ok. We've never been on this class of ship. What are the Sky Box and Heroes Tribute Bar? Where are they? I can't see them on the ship plan.
  11. I looked at a map (I think it was Google) and it showed different routes. I would like to see if there are sidewalks though. Of course, there is also the weather to consider.
  12. I hear you, but bank card or phone pay doesn't work for our situation. We don't have credit cards or phones that we can use for this type of payment.
  13. WEEKLY Travelcards were discontinued as of January 1, 2023. I had problems because I was trying to compare the Visitor Oyster Card with the Weekly Travelcard and couldn't seem to. I have since found that the Weekly are discontinued. I don't have to worry that I picked the wrong product.
  14. We will only have carry-on luggage when we arrive on the train to Dover Priory station. It is about a mile from the station to the cruise port. SOME people say that taxis are sometimes hard to come by. Is there a reason people don't walk besides the luggage situation? I'm thinking of playing it by ear, unless walking is absolutely a no-go. Thanks!
  15. I just ordered the Visitor Oyster cards. I think this will save hassle when we arrive at Heathrow.
  16. Your post has given me SO MUCH information!!! Thank you! I am trying to decide what to do in each port also. From you I learned that we can go on the Trollstigen excursion from either Alesund or Molde. (Carnival isn't going to post excursions until 90 days before the cruise.) Do you have any insights or advice? We are going to be going to: Day 3 - Bergen Day 4 -Alesund Day 5 - Molde Day 6 - Olden Day 6 - Cruise Nordfjord Day 7 - Skjolden Day 7 - Cruise Sognefjord Day 8 - Haugesund
  17. We are interested in renting a car. How did you go about it? Thanks, Renee
  18. Thanks, Kwokpot! I was supposed to be with you earlier this year. Will you be going on any of the Pride sailings this coming summer?

  20. I'm sorry that happened to you. Thank you for the warning.
  21. Like I did for other ports-of-call for Norway, please post ideas, recommendations and to-avoid for Haugesund.
  22. We are traveling on the Carnival Pride on June 9, 2023. We would like to arrive two or three days early into Heathrow and need ideas on what to do those few days. We have visited London twice before, so somewhere outside London is our first choice. We will be traveling light (carryon only) and are planning on using the train. No rental car for us. We COULD do a bus tour, but it's not really our thing. Our preference would be somewhere easy to get to from Heathrow and easy to get on to Dover. (Not going to Scotland or Paris, for example.) Low key sightseeing rather than check off a bunch of things. Thanks!!!
