  1. A Yes AARP members can buy gift cards with a 10% discount, so $100 cost $90
  2. Regarding the certificates,I surprisingly had no issue having them applied to my booking. I just e-mailed the pdfs as an attachment, gave them my booking #, ship and sail date (I added the last name just in case). What might have helped is that I am no where near final payment date
  3. From what I've read, first come first serve on the first day of your reservation, but then you can have the same one if you have another day reserved later in the cruise. We don't really care where ours is, but I plan on going to the bar the day before and asking if my friend Andy (Jackson) can select my casita for the next day You might luck out if few others want to be near the kids pool
  4. Yeah, that is stupid. This is my 1st Royal cruise and I can't believe how cumbersome their website is compared to others for just about everything. Didn't question the 2x charge for the casita when I booked it, because I wanted both of our sea days. When I looked in the planner, saw it had both of us for only the first sea day, Just cancelled and re-booked.
  5. This happened a couple of years ago-only $100's no $500s. I just hope they don't decrease the purchase limit per month
  6. I'm still getting the cart is disabled message- But at least I have some time before my final payment due date
  7. the cards are for AARP members only, but the website is having issues with making any purchases (shopping cart disabled)
  8. "drinks on us"- a casino offer- free drinks while playing in the casino but if your past play warrants it you can sometimes be offered drinks anywhere on the ship
  9. drinking quality water is fine if the humidifier tub is cleanable-this is from the manual from my CPAP (ResMed Airsense11) 4. Open the humidifier tub and fill it with water. Note: The humidifier tub must be removed from the device before adding water. • If using the HumidAir 11 Standard water tub, use distilled water only • If using the HumidAir 11 Cleanable water tub, use drinking quality water (potable). This is my 3rd machine (using CPAPs for over15 years), at home I use distilled water, but on vacation I use bottled water (or tap). Have not had a problem. It also helps to clean and change the tub frequently-I have one that I just use for travel,
  10. In most (if not all) of the US yes, we need a prescription. A few years ago, the generics were not available (that are covered by my insurance) and the name brand was all we could get- $90 for a few-then found out they are non-prescription in Canada and half that price. We had family that frequently went to Canada to visit in-laws so that helped, now the generics are available here again
  11. $35 (20% off) when I purchased it a couple of months ago, went down to $31 (25% off) today. Easy to cancel and re-book
  12. also, unless you both need to be online at the same time, you only need one package-
  13. For that price, you should get to choose your own ports (and time in port) and free room service
  14. Not that I don't believe your experience, but the AARP certificate I have says call or book online, then e-mail the certificate to apply to the reservation, no mention of a time-frame regarding the definition of "new". I hope I don't have an issue as I have two. I agree that CCL gift cards are much easier/ better as they can be redeemed on CCLs website for anything, including OBC. After this cruise, I will probably never bother with RCL gift cards from AARP again.
  15. Thanks-I'm just evaluating if it is worth going to pick one up. My wife has been getting mail offers from Bally's AC to get a voucher for Carnival, but we are already fully booked (4 cruises, 2 with carnival) for 2023. What are the chances it would be good until 2024 when I'm retired and can go whenever I want?
  16. This may be a little off topic, but you are probably the right person to ask- with the Carnival vouchers given out by the land based casinos I have two questions-how long are they generally good for and can they be applied to an already booked cruise?
  17. I believe that the discontinued Scopolamine is the brand name patch, I know here in the States we have generic brands. Unfortunately, here in the states we need to get a prescription
  18. Oh, ok I just thought you had to have a card in on the new ships- I only played some VP for a few minutes, then went to craps but I do not recall seeing a bill changer on the VP machine
  19. Yes, I can confirm that it doesn't auto load- in May on Mardi Gras, I sat a machine that had a few credits on it, but i did the right thing and called staff over and they took care of it
  20. OP obviously just meant that onboard they will switch to be with their respective partners. Back to the original question-I believe once on board you can make the registration switch so that your partner is keyed to your cabin and folio In any case, presume that since you were willing to split the booking this way, that the other couple is family or at least close friends. You should be able to make it make it clear that the $500 OBC is yours, and you would need to settle up before paying the final bill. Depending what you plan to spend it on, you can start buying specialty dining, and shore excursion, WiFi, etc now. I know my $500 is mostly gone already.
  21. a monkey paw is a device that can be inserted through the machine's payout chute to trick the machine into releasing a jackpot, this was back when slots were mostly mechanical
  22. My guess would be Food Republic based on what is currently on the website, but we will see for sure shortly 6 Benefit is available on sailings 5 days or longer, and entitles each guest to one appetizer, one entrée and one dessert of choice. Entrée items up to $35 are covered. For items over this amount, an upcharge will be added to your onboard account. No restaurant substitutions. Names vary by ship. Restaurants not available on all ships. On Norwegian Bliss, Moderno is replaced by Los Lobos or Q. On Norwegian Joy, Moderno is replaced by Food Republic or Q. In Food Republic, the benefit entitles each guest to a total food value of $35 per guest. On Norwegian Encore, Moderno or La Cucina is replaced by Los Lobos or Q.
