  1. I would like to add that if you walk up to Meridian and get given a pager you will be advised to wait in Andersons, the bar just down the corridor, so as not to be out of range!
  2. I am busy organising things for our next cruise in September and have today received an e-mail with the times of our flights for our cruise in January. 😲I am surprised as P&O don't normally give us such information til a lot near the time!
  3. Sounds as though you have a busy week ahead. It is nice to have the family round, but don't forget to look after yourself too.
  4. Sorry the hear this and hope you OH makes a speedy recovery. Good luck with your battles, I hope you get a satisfactory outcome.
  5. Another cut back is the port information guides that used to be in the cabins.
  6. Morning all, hope everyone is well. It's quiet on here, are you all hibernating? It's like winter here, windy which is making it feel chilly, although we've had rain it's not raining at present.
  7. Yes, it's left in the post box, along with any other information, leaflets etc,
  8. Reading through all the comments with the app I am glad that we have booked club dining for our cruise. The experience we had with it on Arvia has also put me off freedom dining.
  9. We did a similar route on Azura last year and Dubrovnik we docked at Gruz harbour which is about 1.5 miles from the old town. We did a P&O tour in the morning and then caught the shuttle bus into town on our return. Split we docked near the town and it was about a five/ten minute walk to the centre. Zadar, again we took the P&O shuttle into the old town, which dropped us off near the Monumen to the Sun and the Sea Organ, and spent the day wandering around. Corfu, is a port that I haven't been to. A site worth checking out is whatsinport.com as it has lots of information on the various ports.
  10. On my recent cruises, there were no waiters walking around with trays of free drinks. Drinks were issued via a voucher from waiting staff or at bars.
  11. Neil Lockwood was on our cruise on Arvia and we throughly enjoyed his show, it was briliant. We would definitely go and see him again.
  12. It wasn't being enforced on Arvia in May, as there were children and babies in the main pool, as well as the swim up bar and hot tubs. We didn't venture into the pool because of them.
  13. We have visited Venice on two separate occasions on a cruise, which did encourage us to go back. A family group of us went (9 in total) went for a 4 night stay earlier this year, and there is still so much to see. I would like to go back again.
  14. Thank you for an informative and interesting read on your cruise. We are on Britannia in the middle of September and have club dining, but was interesting to learn of your experiences of using the app. It sounds better than the fiasco we had on Arvia.
  15. We seem to have better weather down here at the minute, currently it partly sunny at 15c and although we had rain overnight no more is forecast until tomorrow. I am feeling tired after having been woken before 5 this morning by sea gulls squawking!😡 As it's Friday, I'm another week nearer my holiday. The weeks are starting to go down quickly☺️
  16. Good Afternoon, Sorry not been around or posting much since the weekend since OH was admitted to hospital. It has been a pretty busy and stressful few days, getting to and from the hospital in Truro, with major road works added and the fact that I am not allowed to drive yet. He didn't have a heart attack, allthough things were touch and go for a while, he is now sorted and home taking it easy. Although I am bit late, I would like to thank you all for your good wishes.
  17. So very sorry to hear your news. Glad to hear that you are being refered to the oncologist on Thursday and not having to wait ages for an appointment. Wishing you well and hope all goes well.
  18. Long before I had even heard of cream teas and lived nearer London, my father would spread jam on bread and then cream. Now living in Cornwall I have to say jam then clotted cream.
  19. I have praise for the NHS, after my brain tumour a few years back was diagnosed, I was operated on six weeks later. After a recent scan discovered it was regrowing, I had a consultation at the end of March and treatment was organised and carried out in June, it would possibly have been less as we went away for two weeks. Last night my OH had chest pains, and after ringing 999 two first responders were with us within ten minutes and after carrying out an assesment decided to admit him to hospital with the amulance arriving five mintues later. I know we have been lucky and there are a lot of people who have been waiting a long time for appointments, treatments, etc, and I do feel for them.
  20. We did a ship's tour when we docked in Amsterdam, which I think was a half day tour. It is well worth doing and we could have spent a lot more time there.
  21. They were being called as we joined the queue a few minutes after 12.00.
  22. We were in the queue waiting to check in.
