It used to be if you book your cruise 12 months in advance, you also get $50 OBC pp. Come to think of it, I never got mine for the 2024 cruise I booked.

Surprised to see this. We were there in December and overnighted in Cabo so spent 2 days walking around. No one offered us anything but tours. Nothing beyond the usual.
The street hustlers don't approach everyone to paddle their drug and sex merchandise in Cabo. They target tourists that fit a certain profile like young party type American males who are out to have fun and cash to spend. I wasn't approached since I am a sloppily dressed old fart but the 3 young dudes besides me were.

Would prefer the combination silent karaoke.
Have that too. Lip singing contest.

I stayed on deck 2 my last cruise. I don't recall seeing misbehaving or rowdy kids. Most were there with their parents.

Most if not all mass market cruise lines are cutting back to save operating costs. RCCL is now following this industry trend and would not be at a disadvantage to compete when everyone else is doing the same.

Karaoke every night may sound a lot except on most nights, participants only get to sing one song before the hour is up. So it's good that they can go every night. I am not a big fan of silence disco due to Covid risk from lack of social distancing on packed dance floor.

5-day cruise is always better than 4-day if the price difference is minimal. One more day of fun, sun and food.

Still a decent menu. I can live with this.

There are new reports that downtown Mazatlan has pretty much returned to normal with restaurants and shops reopening and tourists milling around. Airport has also reopened.

I believe so. I recently cancelled a Carnival cruise and received my refund within 2 weeks - an indication cash flow is not an issue.

Mexico? That could be a dozen cities here in the US
Drug gangs don't take on the US Army or shoot up airports in US.

I wear my mask all the time and have no plan ditching it.

Due to the importance of tourism to the Mexican economy, the Mexican government is very determined to keep cruise ship tourists as safe as possible in Mexico. Hence, it's why they make their presence so very visible while ships are in port.
When I was there in Nov 2022, there were constant police presence every 4 blocks throughout the blue zone with heavily armed national guard soldiers patrolling in gun trucks. The place was well guarded like Fort Knox and seemed very safe.

I still shy away from crowded elevators, eat outside whenever I can, wash hands often and mask up when I am outside my cabin. So far, it works as I am Covid free after 5 cruises in 2022. No plan on changing for the foreseeable future.

Or use towel animals. They are put in your cabin for a reason.

Look at the positive. Recycling TP is environmental friendly.

I also have this last minute $50 offer for 4 day Mexican Riviera cruise in Jan & Fed 2023. Good deal but unfortunately, I can't go.

You don't have to go to China to get exposed. Tourists from China will start visiting the world in a few weeks. With little or no Covid control measures currently in many country entry points, the potential risk of Covid resurging outside China cannot be ignored.

This is crazy. It can easily set the cruise industry and the world back to 2020 lock down situation.

To OP: Did you get any refund or OBC for missing Ocean Cay?

Another fine example of you snooze you lose. If you see a good deal, grab it before it is gone.

Interesting. Have you tried using a VPN with a U.S IP address and/or a U.S. dollar credit card?
MSC specifies that US prices are for US residents only regardless of your IP address location.
Yes, they are charging for 2nd lobster tail
in Celebrity Cruises

An appetizer, then one lobster tail, followed by another entrée + dessert. Works for me
