  1. Last time I saw someone getting multiple beers, the bartender told him that he had to open them.
  2. I have found good dealers on board and not so good ones. The save for Vegas. I have played at tables with great fun players. And with not so fun ones. It is life in miniature. πŸ˜„
  3. THe funny thing is, other player's play does not affect your play. For each time you lose a hand due to poor play, you win a hand due to poor play. Each card dealt is a separate event and statistically not connected to the previous or next card. Good players know this.
  4. Since that is the "officers" versus passenger pool volley ball, yes it is worth it. Great fun to watch and even more fun to play.
  5. It is strange that they WILL NOT restock during a cruise.
  6. If everyone was waiting and no one had gotten off, yes. But when group 28 has been called and the person is group 5, NOPE. And anyway, no way they are going to make a flight in 30 minutes. Remember, boarding ends 15 - 20 minutes before departure, so she only had 10 - 15 minutes to get to the airport and through security and to the gate. Assuming she was checked in and only had carry on.
  7. They will not let you stay on more than a couple of hours after you are allowed off. They have to prepare for and board the passengers for the next cruise.
  8. The shoe games are 8 deck. There may be a 2 deck hand game that pays 3 to 2, but the table minimum is typically $15. On the 6 to 5, they also rip you off if you get blackjack. The table minimum is $6. You can play $6 on the hand or $5 and one on the side game. If you play 6 and get blackjack, it should pay $7.20. They only pay $7. And yes, they hit a soft 17. No surrender.
  9. ???????? I thought you drank Scotch????? πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„
  10. Plenty of food on board is included. In the 70s, you had a choice of the MDR or the MDR.
  11. OK, ***** Royal Caribbean Enchantment, Nov 19, from Baltimore, 12 nights Was looking to plan some excursions, but noticed that the excursions page and the ship's itinerary from the booking page do NOT AGREE. Both agree that Day 5 is St Croix. Day 6, the excursions page says St. Maarten, the Cruise page says St. Lucia Day 7. St. Lucia versus Bridgetown Day 8 Bridgetown versus St Kitts and Nevis Day 9 St Kitts and Nevis versus St. Maarten So how are we supposed to book excursions when we don't know what days we will be in which port??????
  12. One of the very nice things (LOVE Grandeur) is that every where you are, you can turn a bit and see the ocean. If you want a floating amusement park, it is not for you. But if you are cruising to be on a ship and knowing you are on a ship, she is great. I wish she would come back to Baltimore. I went from never having cruised, to Diamond, all on Grandeur.
  13. Agreed. How hard would it be to have 2000 or 3000 trivia questions in the laptop and randomly select which ones are asked? Same for The Quest. Have 100 tasks. Each cruise, they pick X for that game.
  14. Prices are just crazy. McD for a fish sandwich, medium fries and medium drink was recently almost $12. Lunch with a friend the other day. I had a small pizza and a side salad. He had a sub sandwich. Soft drinks. $45 with tip.
  15. I was traveling in Africa, using my TRAVEL card. I check out of a hotel in the morning, fly to another country and try to check in. No can do. Card is not accepted. Tried a couple of times, then used a personal card to check in. Got to the room and called the CC company. They blocked my card for suspicious activity. What was "suspicious"? My card being used in one country in the morning and a different one in the evening. I asked the agent if they had every heard of something called an AIRPLANE. Like I checked out, caught a flight, and then tried to check in. The somewhat bewildered agent then asked, "So this is a legitimate charge?_ DUH, YES. πŸ˜„

  17. As for boarding docs, do not forget photo ID and birth certificate or passport. A few years ago a couple put them in their checked luggage and missed the cruise.
