  1. Even if they had scored a TD the Chiefs would have had a shot to tie before it became sudden death. New playoff OT rules are each team gets a shot at scoring. THEN if it is still tied it goes to sudden death.
  2. I told Merida people thought she was cute and this is what she did. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
  3. I was pleasantly surprised with the Wicked trailer. I just wish they'd just do the full thing this year with an intermission like the show rather than the studio money grab of breaking it into 2 movies. At least they're ending the first movie in the same place Act 1 ends.
  4. The princess surrendered the packing cubes but has moved onto the backpack.
  5. I've never known that a cold brew needs a blender. Are you confusing cold brew with a frappuccino-like drink?
  6. I will note a few things: * I am not a casino person - donโ€™t understand it, donโ€™t do it. So no reports on that. * Iโ€™m also pretty picky about my entertainment - I have walked out of previous shows, so I try to get a seat on an end and further back so I wonโ€™t be a disturbance. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ * I am gluten-free, allergic to peanuts, and while not allergic to fish I avoid it due to choking to the point of gagging on a bone that somehow got in a fish stickโ€ฆit was such a severe reaction my body still reacts the same way to anything with the taste or texture of fish. I have gone back and forth about Wonderland given those restrictions. I am not currently reserved, but I may try and talk with them to see if a meal is possible with my parameters since I loved Eden on Celebrity Edge. I think those are all of my quirks. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ Oh yeah - I may try the spa raffle and see if my RCCL spa raffle luck continues. So far I am 3 for 3 for winning - usually the $150 spa credit.
  7. Plus, in FLORIDA??? There could be all kinds of bitey things you do NOT want to encounter in bushes. (Snakes, bugs, etc.)
  8. I'm not "senior center" material, but I love the calmer, more relaxed atmosphere. I'm not one who feels the need to be high energy entertained 24/7. That's where my nerves about Anthem are coming in - it's so much bigger and there are so many things going on. We'll see though.
  9. With a busy week ahead, I started my RCCL trip report already.
  10. Hi all! Now that it's one week to go - and since the next week will be crazy getting through school activities plus Ash Wednesday, I figured I'd go ahead and start it so it's underway. My name's Beth. I teach Special Ed in the NYC public schools. My first cruise was in 1982 when my family went on the Emerald Seas - then not another until 2013 when we went on the Disney Dream as part of a family trip to celebrate my parents' 45th anniversary. Since then I've been on 6 more Disney cruises (all their ships but the Wish), Holland America (1), Royal (3), fathom (2), Celebrity (2). Needless to say, I love cruising. ๐Ÿ˜„ My cat Merida is back to her normal self after giving me quite the scare over New Year's. She'll be home with a friend coming and checking on her twice a day. I was extra nervous when she wasn't being her normal self because in 2020 I was preparing to go on the Celebrity Edge and my tuxedo cat Mo died of undetected heart issues (exactly 4 years ago today as my FB memories told me) so I did not want history repeating itself. But she's back to acting like she should have Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" playing as she waits a whole TWO MINUTES for her feeder to turn each morning, so I'm breathing much easier. I've never been on anything as big as Anthem, so I'm a bit nervous, but I'm also excited - to get away if nothing else. The pricing was right - I snagged a really good price on a solo balcony, and my amazing TA got me one with the larger balcony - and I don't have to fly...just a simple Uber ride under the river (usually that's the quickest from where I live in Brooklyn...I suppose it could be over a bridge if traffic is weirdly heavy early Saturday morning). I'll be in 6248. So even if the adult Solarium is packed, I'll have my balcony to relax and read on. We are scheduled to hit Port Canaveral/Orlando, Perfect Day at Coco Cay, and Nassau. Orlando I'm taking the ship shuttle to Disney World and will get myself to Disney Springs where I'm going to be able to meet up with my best friend for lunch and hanging out. Perfect Day I booked a pass for Hideaway Beach when it was at a really good price, so if I can't find a quiet place and it's too loud I won't feel like I have to stay to make it worth it. Nassau is one I've been to enough times I'm 99% sure I'm just going to stay on the ship. The first sea day (ie the second day of the cruise) I've booked the "Women of Wine Tasting Experience" which looks good. I will have internet, but no drink package. I'd personally rather carry on a bottle of wine (sadly solos are limited to one even though a 2-person cabin could have 2 even if only 1 over 21 drinks, but it is what it is), a 12-pack of Diet Coke, and put a set amount on my account. I am not a non-drinker, but I had the beverage package on Celebrity this past summer as I was in their Aqua Class before they unbundled the AI package and made it optional, and I just drank more than I should have to justify the price. I've got My Time Dining, which I'd rather have than traditional and be put at a table with others, but I don't like how late they start the reservations for that now (my last RCCL MTD reservations started at almost the same time as the early seating), so I may stick with Windjammer for dinner. We'll see. So...that starts this off I think. Now to begin packing. Like I said, it's going to be a fairly busy week between school and Ash Wednesday, so I'm better packing now when I can take my time and not rush since rushing is when I forget things. I just have to get the princess off my packing cubes.
  11. I'd have come up with an earlier flight and given her THAT information if late is her history. One of my friend groups has someone who is ALWAYS late, so we always tell her we're meeting 30-45 minutes before we actually are so that dining reservations, etc. aren't missed.
  12. Next weekend. She left today for an 8-night and I board the 17th for an 8-night. I'm planning on starting a report before I leave if people are interested.
  13. Oh wow. I didn't realize their supplies were THAT drastically limited. Obviously I know they can't be as stocked as a land-based place. But to just have the option of pepperoni, veggie, or cheese seems extreme.
  14. I think this is a big key. If someone goes in thinking "this is an older ship, it's going to have so many issues" they are going to be looking for those and that's all they're going to see. On a board for another cruiseline a few years ago, someone went on an older ship and even from all their pre-cruise comments and questions you could just tell that they were going in looking for things. And their pictures proved that out. Some of the "issues" they found you could tell they were literally crawling around on the deck looking for things. But if someone goes in thinking "I'm going on a cruise and I'm going to have a great time" you're much more likely to experience that and not notice the little things. (And yes, before anyone calls me out, I *have* said I'm nervous about my upcoming Anthem cruise. I have never been on anything that large, and from all I can tell it's sold out - I do know that it's Presidents' Week break, so I'm anticipating a lot of families on board. BUT I know I have my solo balcony - and my TA got me one with the extended balcony. I know there is the adult-only solarium. So I know I'll have some places I can go to escape if I need to. I'm going to meet up with my best friend at Disney Springs for hanging out and for eating during our stop in Port Canaveral/Orlando. I'm going to give Hideaway Beach a try and not be afraid to leave if it's too noisy and I can't find a quietish place. I love being at sea, and that will be enough. I'm planning to do a live report - if people are interested. And even though I'm nervous, I'm going in expecting to have a relaxing time at sea.)
  15. I think that is the issue - dual citizenship using the other countryโ€™s passport. (As to you checking in passengers I did not know. I only cruised out of Seattle once - my one and only trip on HAL. ๐Ÿ™‚ )
  16. I loved Aqua on Summit this past summer. They spoiled me rotten in Blu - so much that when there was the chance to bump up to Aqua for a reasonable price (like after they automatically unbundled AI) for my cruise on the Beyond this coming summer, I jumped at it. I'm not really a specialty restaurants girl, so I can't help you there. But Blu alone was worth it to me.
  17. I lowered the window briefly. But that only affected MY cabin. i was referring to when I have a regular balcony - you are not supposed to leave those open either. In that case it doesnโ€™t shut off the a/c to your cabin but it affects all in your block. Traditional balcony.
  18. Not the OP, but I cruise solo and I am quite happy to sit by myself, thank you. My point in cruising is to chill and relax, and being forced into interaction is not my idea of that. I'll likely just stick with Windjammer on my upcoming Anthem cruise as I couldn't get MTD reservations for my preferred time and don't feel like dealing with a line.
  19. I loved mine. Had no issues with it. Granted Iโ€™m a rule follower who never leaves her balcony door open, so the a/c cutting off is not an issue for me.
