  1. I know that the coffee card covers 15 shots... Can you do milk alternatives in the drinks, or just cow milk?
  2. BUT... In many of the countries where the ships port (not to mention where they are flagged), this IS a binary matter. Drugs such as those are banned and can get you locked up abroad. The penalty is not just a little slap on the wrist in many other countries. And ship personnel are not going to just turn a blind eye, because if your stash is discovered and even moreso that they let it slip by them, the entire ship, management, etc. faces fines. It's come up on Below Deck (I think the main one, but maybe Med) and that maritime law applies to ships of all sizes. (Also important to check your prescription medications as some that are legal here in the States are illegal in other countries. Possibly some OTC stuff as well.)
  3. The listed capacity of Anthem is 1000 people greater than the max capacity on Beyond though. With less than 100ft of difference in length. I don’t care about things to do - a nice quiet chair and my kindle and I’m a happy camper. I went with Anthem for Feb break because I don’t have to fly anywhere and the solo studio cost was right. It may surprise me, but we’ll see.
  4. I considered it for my Feb cruise - mainly because I'm solo and it would be great to drop off my bags and not have to worry about them since Royal doesn't let you drop them off yourself like their sister Celebrity does. But when I subtracted the internet cost from it, the difference was too much to justify the cost just for embarkation lunch, luggage service, and departure breakfast (which is pretty much what I'd use it for...I don't always agree with what they think are "premium" seats and there are no tender ports on my cruise). So I just got internet and will just drag my carry-ons around like I have before.
  5. So far I've only been on Radiance Class (Radiance, Brilliance, Jewel), but I LOVE it!! I'm on a Quantum Class (Anthem) in 3 weeks, and honestly I'm nervous. I've never been on something that big. We'll see...
  6. I think this upcoming cruise on Anthem I'm going to be doing most if not all of my evening dining in the Windjammer. I'm slotted for MTD, but at least based on current cruises, the time for something I really want to do - at least the first night - is at 7, making an earlier dining with MTD impossible since the first available slot is 6:45, and I'd rather not eat later.
  7. To be fair, you're negating my 1st had experience and use of this product where I *have* seen it where too many people were assigned to an elevator due to large parties and/or people seeing the person in front of them press for the same floor and just creepily tag along.
  8. I personally always vote for shelter cats. There are always so many in the shelter that need homes. Barring that, look into seeing if there's a breed rescue you could adopt from. I don't know if they have them for cats, but at least for dogs they specialize in rehoming a certain breed that have been surrendered for whatever reason. Adopt, don't shop.
  9. You asked if it would only be one floor per elevator. I said that there are times when multiple floors would be assigned. Which is exactly what you said "if they'd boarded together..." The Deck 6 and Deck 8 people could be assigned the same elevator - though the system could only think there are 2 people and not 5 (1 for deck 6 and 4 for deck 8 ) unless all the people for deck 8 are solos so each pressed the button.
  10. 1st question - no, there are times when there will be multiple floors assigned to one elevator 2nd question - You should put in your deck number. There can be enough of a possibility of over-assigning people to the elevator based on the number of pushes vs. the number of people in a party - most parties will only press it once regardless of how many people, so a family of 5 would be assigned to an elevator as if only 1 or maybe 2. Not only is there the creep factor of "what floor are you going to?" before you're even on the elevator, if you "piggyback" on them, the system isn't accurately accounting for the number of people requesting.
  11. Thank you!! I've been saying from my first time getting crammed into one that there needs to be a way to designate how many people are in the party.
  12. Well, they'd have to literally hit each floor one at a time and wait for it to assign the elevator. I doubt most kids are going to have the patience to go 2...wait...3...wait...4...wait...5...wait, etc. all the way up to however many decks the ship has. I've never met a kid who has that much patience.
  13. "Express" in the sense that a kid won't press all the buttons inside. But no, it's not going to put one per elevator if they're going the same direction. I've been in the same system at the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan and I've had it where it went directly to the floor I wanted, but I've also had it where there were 4 or 5 floors that it stopped at.
  14. HOWEVER, if multiple parties of 6 people press for the same floor, the system doesn't know that the parties have 6 people so you *could* end up with an overly full elevator. I've had it happen to me at the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan where there were way too many people waiting for an elevator because each party only pressed it once. I wish there was a system where you entered your desired floor and then the number of people in your party - but so far no dice on that. So the possibility does exist that you could have to repeat the process.
  15. They've used this system at the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan for years, so it's not new to the world at large. Yes, it works well generally...but my biggest problem is that it doesn't account for the NUMBER of people. It seems to assume 1 person per punch, so there have been times at the Marquis that an elevator is too full because of larger parties. If they could make it so that you punched the floor and then it asked how many people in your party to assign it would be absolutely fabulous. But there could be times where you're given an elevator but because there's a large party in it - or waiting to get in it - you're unable to.
  16. Maybe they thought the parents might want the bigger cabin since you've said one had more space so decided to wait and see if you switched up who was where since it's easier to separate the beds than put them together?
  17. That does no good until you can get into your cabin though. IMHO that would only make sense if they went with their sister Celebrity's policy of being allowed to drop off your carry-ons (and pick up your key cards) as soon as you board.
  18. This. It’s partly for health reasons with the cross-contamination issues but also about the fire hazard. No matter how big the bribe it’s not going to happen. Get the kid used to a different late night snack.
  19. Yuck. I feel for the crew not having an isolated area where they can relax. With that being right next to public areas, they really can't be "off show" while they're there since they're - at least from the map - in very easy eye-shot of guests.
  20. Maybe in terms of a theme park, but Disney's private island - Castaway Cay - is beautiful and, at least the adult area is so calm and serene. That's why I was initially excited when I saw Royal was doing an adult only area - and then so bummed when it was clear it was all about the party and NOT quiet.
