  1. This. I guess if I wanted to travel only every 5 years I might be able to do a suite - but being a solo traveler it would be A LOT. I did splurge on Aqua Class last summer and am again this summer (I actually was going to downgrade to a solo cabin, but my sailing is now sold out other than suites) - but in Feb 2026 I'm back to a solo IV on the Beyond. The only restaurant you can't go to as a non-suite guest is Luminae (and as a non-Aqua guest you can't go to Blu). And there's the Retreat Lounge and sundeck that are only for suites, but there is plenty of deck space and other space for everyone. As far as spa, I don't really do the treatments (I hate the hard sell for products or other services, and I never have luck with them paying attention to NO SALES PLEASE written on my intake form) - I'll do the area that comes with Aqua occasionally. I've seen it offered as a length of cruise pass under spa on the planner, so I gather from that there are spaces for those other than Aqua guests.
  2. To me "truly vulgar" would be X-rated and not R-rated.
  3. If you were just changing to a different sailing, you could have - by calling or using a TA who would call - just changed the cruise. Anything prepaid for the one you were on would be refunded back automatically.
  4. 12am for the departure port. So if it's a FL-based then midnight Eastern. If in Alaska, midnight their time. If in Europe, midnight their time. I have no issues using an app so I've never tried it any other way.
  5. Just curious about how you "barely went on" a cruise. Did you almost not make it? Or was it a 3-night? I've just never heard that phrase in relation to a cruise.
  6. Please don't. Ship septic systems are not capable of handling the plush tissue most people use at home. You're just going to cause blockages and issues for many more people than just you.
  7. I’m confused. You flat out said “If you do, why do they need one? Have an occasional mocktail.” If that isn’t advocating for people to not get their kids packages and use their alcoholic package to get the kids drinks, what was your intent?
  8. Unless you're Orthodox. Then it's May 5. Tomorrow is Palm Sunday.
  9. Yes. Or leggings. Either. People eating in the buffet or room service go about in shorts or leggings or whatever. No one knows when you're not in the dining room.
  10. And sometimes planning 2 is the right play if you accidentally pack your intended leaving the cruise outfit in your luggage. Planning for the final night's outfit to go into carry-on would prevent the pajama-clad "I forgot to leave something out" debarkation of shame.
  11. I've always changed after dinner when on X and never been questioned about it.
  12. And this is why they have requirements for people in the same stateroom to have the same package. People cheating the system and getting drinks for others.
  13. I've always seen that they request luggage to be out by 10 or 10:30. Plenty of time to finish dinner and toss your dinner clothes in. Plus they continue sweeping the halls until 1 or 2 to grab late luggage. So no. No shorts on the last night unless you want to eat in the buffet. (I've never been stopped going into the theater wearing shorts.)
  14. Yeah, I imagine that would make a difference. No partial charters on mine.
  15. 52 here and I love the E-Class. I did love the Summit...though a lot of that was being in Aqua (and Blu). My next cruise is Beyond this summer. I've currently got Feb 2026 on Silhouette, but I may well change that to either Beyond or Apex.
  16. And not music, but Little House on the Prairie is 50!!!!
  17. Nope. In July you were allowed to take your carry-on to your cabin and drop it off - and pick up your card.
  18. That'll be interesting considering there are songs with that title and it's just a common phrase...
  19. I'll just say one big advantage to the train vs. driving... There is ONE road between Anchorage and Seward, and if there is a bad accident - which can happen - everything on the road stops. My second AK cruise was on Royal and was the southbound. The group I was with split between the train and the bus (I opted for the bus so I can't comment on the train). The train people got on a lot later than expected. We then learned from them that the road had been shut down due to an accident involving 1 or 2 helicopter extractions. They stopped the train and got as many people on the busses already on the road on as they could while holding all the other busses. The captain went ahead and held muster drill for those of us on board, and then once the road opened and things started moving again, everyone on those busses was directed to the theater for their muster (they were all back to back at that time, so it's not like the first was waiting forever). But (this from a couple who had opted for a private car and only made it because their driver managed to get in between the next to last and the last bus) as soon as the last bus entered the lot, the gates were closed. Anyone behind that last bus had to find their way to the next port or just deal with a cancelled by no-show cruise. So using either the train or a bus is definitely worth it in knowing you'll get on the ship in the event there is another bad wreck.
  20. Aqua!!! I was in Aqua on the Summit this past summer and absolutely loved it!! I was spoiled rotten by the team in Blu.
  21. Except, of course, from the people who "are only loyal to Celebrity, never cruised any other line, etc." and are never picked for the free upgrade and want to know why. BINGO! This is the philosophy I use with all my bookings - cruise, airline, Walt Disney World. That last one especially - the number of people who book one category and then try to figure out how to request a higher category without the room assigner catches on...or how to get upgraded at check-in (even to the point at the monorail resorts of using their kids by training them to go up to Mommy or Daddy at the check in counter and say they are so excited to see the castle and can they see it from their room knowing full well that they booked a standard view but hoping the cast member at check in will move them into a Theme Park View room to make the kid happy).
  22. Ah. Not having the : in it (or using military time) made me think it was some kind of code next to the food somewhere. Thanks.
  23. Maybe I missed it, but what are the numbers next to the food names in your dinner reports?
