  1. I thought this thread stated that there were no appetizers offered in the MDR, only salads and soups.
  2. Didn’t know they eliminated shrimp cocktails or escargot ? No appetizers now??
  3. Hard to believe any qualified butler would be without employment. Silver Seas and Cunard are hiring. There is a general shortage of employees for all cruise lines. Doubt that Celebrity would let good employees go when so many other cruise lines are short of employees and eagerly hiring.
  4. We also did excursions into the rainforest at several ports. There were insects, some amazingly large.
  5. In the PH, meals from the Specialty Restaurants were included if you ate in that restaurant. We were never promised Specialty Restaurants meals would be served in our suite. Many of the restaurants have tableside offerings not conducive to room service. Hopefully Celebrity will train the Butlers and Retreat Hosts so individual butlers won’t be pressed to break the rules.
  6. We took the anti malaria meds when we took a two week Amazon cruise. We also had the yellow fever vaccine before we left for Rio. Wonder if the recent resurgence of Malaria in Florida is because of South American travels.
  7. Perhaps on some cruises they are told not to switch on the heaters, even if asked by passengers.
  8. Paxlovid has many dangerous interactions with drugs usually taken by seniors. I hope they don’t give this out as if it was a harmless antidote to COVID.
  9. I don’t see anything new, we had all of this on the Venture last year.
  10. The best dinner we ever had on Celebrity was in Tuscan Grill as we sailed from NYC. The views were spectacular and the food wasn’t bad.
  11. Sound will carry on interconnecting suites. If your neighbors are loud, or play the TV loud, you will hear. Bring earplugs just in case you are disturbed.
  12. Was that the only cost? Did they test you or give you the kit to take back to your suite? If you have insurance it will cover the $38 cost.
  13. No, Earth and Ocean, as we loved the menu, but they ran out of Brie before the end of the cruise.
  14. The Ovation had the heaters in February. Were they broken when SLSD was onboard?
  15. Which ship, cruise or transatlantic. It will make a difference.
  16. If you need alcohol and don’t want to pay for it frequent Al Bacio during embarkation times and partake of the included “champagne”.
  17. Will you still take this cruise if the restaurant is not open for Breakfast and Lunch on port days? Do the management at Seabourn usually follow your requests?
  18. I am sure those who are coughing will claim it’s allergies or COPD so you shouldn’t be worried!
  19. Where are the major cities in the U.S. where you can get a luxury hotel room for $300? You won’t get a room at the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental for that price.
  20. We were able to add two additional suitcases while onboard the QM2.
  21. We used the White Star Service on the Cunard site nd it connected us to Luggage Forwarding. This service worked great in Dec 23.
  22. On the QM2, there is a shade that can be pulled down if you would like and have a window table. I have also seen privacy dividers put next to a table by the window. There must have been a celebrity who didn’t want other passengers staring.
  23. We also found many blazers in the evening on the Venture. The temperature inside was quite cool making those jackets comfortable. Needless to say we saw no shorts or tank tops inside except in the gym. It might be different on an Amazon cruise or trans Atlantic or Pacific.
  24. Guess you are speaking about the current dress standards of the passengers.
