Definitely not!! We arrived at 7pm last night and it took us till 7.40 to get our drinks!! It was only a simple g&t but the tonic was totally flat so we sent the first ones back… the second ones weren’t much better but by then we were desperate!! We won’t bother going back! I don’t understand why people feel the need to eat a whole pile of canapés just before they are going into dinner… We are aft deck 8.. perhaps we’ve passed in the corridor like ships in the night!

@Rogueperson 100DKK is about $14 We bought a big and small beer 🍺 for 85 which was $12… not that expensive compared to the glass shop!! People did the call chain last night about the NL but they were barely visible. Sea day today heading south.

Despite the dire warnings of being run over by the continuous convoy of super trucks, we walked into town. About 20 mins and there even was a kind of sidewalk after a while. Very harsh, colourful, functional. We went to a glass shop that had been mentioned on the roll call called Dooit. Stuffing pieces but very very expensive. I bought a small glass dish for 299DKK /$43. We walked out to the viewpoint and were rewarded by the most stunning views. Back up to town, into the church then time for a beer! Strolled back to the ship and were onboard before 5pm.

As I didn’t like anything on the menu we are in the WJ. It was pretty quiet but a good selection on Mediterranean night. Aldo went to the show. It’s getting dated! The graphics at the beginning are like something out of the 80s! Then the lovely Kat gave us the NL announcement 📣 It was freezing with sleet rain but worth it! Ended up in vortex for a warming chocolate martini…!!

From what I read elsewhere some people did get a call and some didn’t! let’s hoping they are very visible tonight I’m currently wrapped up reading on our balcony in lovely sunshine! We are doing max speed 21knots on a due north 000 heading. Arrival in Nuuk tomorrow delayed until 10a due to the choppy seas yesterday. We will not leave until 10p. We are allowed to walk into town, despite dire warnings there are no sidewalks.. I mean how many trucks 🛻 can there be driving into Nuuk docks so we will take the risk and save ourselves $44! We will try and make it to a show tonight.. it’s the Westend to Broadway one. This is my 8th time on Jewel so I have seen it before! 💃

There were apparently Northern Lights visible last night but the phone call chain to alert each cabin that has been set up didn’t work! Better luck tonight 🤞

There was a huge line for the MDR lunch just before 1pm stretching back to the shoreex desk. Someone came out and said no more lobster 🦞 rolls available so we didn’t bother waiting any longer!

7pm is when we are having our pre dinner g&ts. And I don’t like going to shows before dinner - doesn’t seem the right way round!

Cannot believe the weather today! Have done nothing apart from C&A event, Pinnacle lunch which was a bit of a disappointment with my request for a well done fillet.., it was so rare it could have walked out of the dining room! But a good table and company and chat made up for it! We went to Mexican night in the WJ. We have still not made it to any show! 9pm is too early for them to start for us… we prefer 10pm starts as that fits in better with our dining times. Another time change tonight - one hour forward.

I’m sunbathing …. ! Never thought I would say that on a cruise to Greenland!

Due to the fact we have used a lot of fuel ⛽️ to get up to Greenland Nuuk, we will need to refuel and will now not leave till 10pm. The sun is out, the weather is gorgeous. The seas have calmed down. We chased the hurricane 🌀 up and the closest we got to the eye was 105 miles… so Jewel has also become a hurricane chasing ship! There are a lot of badge wearers on board!

Our dinner was good, portions large but service was soooo slow! Even for us Brits who are used to a leisurely dinner! Never made it to the show. Did our free spins and won zilch/nada! Ended up at the Martini 🍸 bar - very quiet ship tonight; possibly because it was rather bumpy out there earlier ( it’s much better now). Clocks forward one hour tonight so less sleep!

A taxi will be crazy $. You buy the 24/48 hr Vaporetto pass and catch the ferry over. And you have to pay to see glass blowing exhibitions but there are lots and lots of shops selling it.

There will be a $21.99pp shuttle bus fee to go into Nuuk.

It was bland and didn’t really taste of anything.

Person was winched off. The helicopter 🚁 flew around us a few times. Now we are back on course.
