  1. Me Too, Me Too. Never had this occur before. I'm not real worried about it though.
  2. Personally, I have not purchased a coke product in 30 years. I no longer need a second suitcase for my Pepsi. To each their own.
  3. One time I had a Carnival luggage tag (like we print for checked luggage) laminated and fixed to a lanyard. The joke was "here's where I live if you find me drunk". I had MANY people say they were gonna try that for one reason or another. If everyone in the cabin wore a tag, the person who needs the tag wouldn't think twice about wearing one. This person would be able to ask just about anyone to guide me home. I didn't need the assistance, but most people knew why the tag was there.
  4. Original post made me smile. I don't have a fun times from my last Mardi Gras sailing. I DO have a Carnival Capers from my last Mardi Gras sailing.
  5. You DO NOT need your S & S card for muster drill. You DO NEED either the S & S card OR your boarding pass. Your boarding pass will do most of the stuff your S & S card will do, EXCEPT get into your cabin.
  6. I have hundreds of photos from the Midnight buffet beginning with the Mardi Gras in 1986. In years past I would pull them out and re-create a fruit/veggie sculpture for family or other special events. My watermelon pirate ship was a favorite.
  7. All this fuss about water dispensers and Norovirus, and we have convinced no one to change their mind. Every cruise ship I've ever sailed has had a water dispenser in the cabin. Same water you shower, brush teeth and chase your medicine with. The only other person using that dispenser is the one I have been sharing water with for 40+ cruises. Never made either of us sick. Drink up. Enjoy your special time.
  8. It's with pleasure I revive this thread we thought was long expired. Mr. Heald told a friend of mine the Chefs are working on a new recipe for our biscuits and gravy. He didn't have a timeline, but assured my friend they were coming back. I love trying new foods in the MDR but would rather have my comfort food for breakfast.
  9. On the Mardi Gras and Jubilee we would sit down in the MDR and set the (wrapped) butter pats on our plate hoping they softened before the bread arrived. Our little game which became a small part of the Great Adventure called cruising.
  10. If this guy is teaching his flock how to win the slots, do I even have a chance?
  11. I've been getting those offers, thought it was a new Cruise Director or something. So....... He's just a u-tube guy?
  12. The package is pricey and tips are included, but a small generic gift card (cash) will insure your well never runs dry.
  13. I don't drink that much, the drink package is not for me. If the drink package is for you, go for it. The Trolls will burn you at the stake, but lots of cruisers feel the same way you do. Whatever "FLOATS YOUR BOAT".
  14. I think EVERYONE should try YTD. That way, I won't have any trouble getting my early fixed time in the MDR. When the day comes I must check in on my phone, I'll either be eating on the Lido or staying home. I am a digital dinosaur and still trying to figure out this eye phone since they took away my flip phone a while back. Everyone have a great cruise.
  15. Any soup (cold or hot) on the menu. A cheese plate as an app, one for desert and one for the balcony. Life is Good
  16. IF you ask before they run out. IF the room dude is in a good mood.
  17. I tried the candy straws a couple of times. Not gonna do that again. Plastic straws are really cheap at D-Gen or Wally world.
  18. Ditto the Above: Once you set the check in time for each BOOKING Number, sit back and relax for a few minutes. Over the next day or two, work the personal stuff with each person, either by phone or face to face. I've done it many times.
  19. By the time you board the ship I will have parked my carry on in the cabin, gone through muster with just the four of us, eaten lunch, staked out a pier side window seat on the Lido and downed the first 3 or 4 Fun Ship Specials. My vacation starts around 11 AM (Galveston) when I step on the ship. Board whenever you want, we'll do the same.
  20. Now you know the rules, you can decide whether or not you want to play the game. If you don't like the rules and still want to play the game, the only one to blame is looking at you in the mirror.
  21. I have heard people trying to switch cabins since our 2nd Mardi Gras cruise. Even then the Pursers office had the "SHIP FULL" sign out.
