  1. I can mirror the OPs feeling towards MSC. We sailed back in 2018 and were so disappointed. I am a "find the cheapest option available" type of person for cruising. Carnival has always offered the best prices for what we want as a family. MSC blew me away with great offers but for us it ended up being too good to be true. To this day I am always tempted by the pricing and offer models from MSC but nobody in my family wants to waste the $ and vacation to be disappointed when we know Carnival will always meet the expectations.
  2. Haven't been to Rip Ty'd but after looking at the website, etc. it looks like it's worth a stop. We went to Pirate Republic and that is was okay. Next time I'm in Nassau I'm planning on stopping here.
  3. This was over 3 years ago but I did have $3500 in gift cards (7x500). I loaded them all onto my room. At that time they weren't really watching the casino cashouts, either. I pulled most of that back out as cash.
  4. The poor behavior on ships would go away if there was a slight investment in enforcement. Rules are posted, explained, etc. but when there is no enforcement then what's the point. Not to embrace debate but a few are: -Chair Hogging -Bathing suit attire in Lido buffet -Non potty trained kids in pools -Proper dinner attire All of these have rules and guidelines but are rarely enforce (except for maybe the swim diapers in water features). Start by picking one to enforce and behavior may start falling in line.
  5. #1 Muster #2 Drink from the closest bar (which I was lucky enough to be #1 @ Red Frog a few weeks back for a free drink) #3 Head to the lobby or lido to people watch The excitement of everyone getting on the ship is so much fun to watch. Especially all those that immediately get all sorts of turned around and/or the ones that immediately run to the lobby bar and are shocked that their 3 drinks are $40.
  6. Brand new ship for a week? Yeah, I'd jump on that.
  7. My friend got a $100 bundle on his first try years ago. He spent it all trying to get another bundle. I stay away from them.
  8. I was just on Magic the last few days. After the "mega deck party" we walked by the Blue Iguana and they did have chips and salsa out. Completely shocked me. Never saw it again, though.
  9. I guess I haven't heard those reviews. I wouldn't doubt my sailing on Aug 11 is going to be a disaster. Only 4 days long, out of NY and school still out.
  10. I used to feel the same until I paid attention. A lame CD vs a great CD can absolutely change a cruise. Maybe not for you (or me) personally but the vibe and energy on the ship and the 3k+ other passengers can change and impact me (and you) easily when you are sharing the same ship, events, and activities.
  11. Not sure what's going to happen but I do see the vaccination status survey for my booking on carnival.com is no longer there.
  12. In my experience RU0 and RU9 rate codes aren't really that great. I think I booked under RU1 before which was pretty much a free drink package instead of paying a higher rate to get the package.
  13. Right now there is no Camp Ocean for under 2. I don't remember what it is called exactly, Night Owls maybe?
  14. Why on earth are people out at 3-4am.....on debarkation day? Stupid people play stupid games and win stupid prizes. It's those people that give cruising and specifically Carnival cruisers a bad name. Disgusting.
  15. 100%. I used the PYOB in the Lido Marketplace and at the Red Frog Pub and both were disgusting. You can tell those beer lines are NEVER cleaned.
  16. Breakfast - Bacon, sausage, and french toast. Lunch - Sandwiches from the Deli Dinner - Salad Bar. I like making my own and sometimes using the toppings to dial up other dishes.
  17. You'd think that is the case. When we sailed in Galveston it was anarchy as far as boarding times. Hundreds of extra people showing up at 10:30 and nobody turning them back. Long, long lines. Until they start enforcing the "perk" is useless.
  18. My offer was when Carnival Journey's cruises were just starting to sail. $25/pp to sail and included $200obc/pp. This included all Journey's cruises at the time anywhere from 9-14 days. Unfortunately my wife and I had just gotten back from a 7 day sailing and we have a house full of kids so we couldn't leave them for that long.
