  1. I would not call this a sweet sale. It is only for select sailings. And the one I have been considering has gone up in price 40% since yesterday, even with the sale.
  2. Sorry, I did not finish my last message. After getting to Stonehaven we took a taxi to the Castle. There is aa challenging walk on a slope with many stairs. We spent an hour there. If you walk the coastal walk to the castle from Stonehaven, it takes about 45 minutes each way. We again called a taxi to pick us up at the castle to take us back to Stonehaven for a lunch and run called him again to take us back to train station. I think we spent about five hours doing all this
  3. I think you probably need more time. I took the train with no problem. Train station is very near where shuttle drops
  4. Yes they did. I think once per hour.
  5. Hmmm. A few weeks ago the future cruise sales manager on the Pursuit told me I had 60 days to transfer the booking I made with him onboard . Was he incorrect? ( Not that this would help cruisinbanjo, as he made his initial reservation in January). If he thinks the new promo is a better deal, he should cancel and re book. But cancellation fees would probably apply. While onboard a few weeks ago, I rebooked a sailing ( originally booked onboard and then transferred to a TA) into a different category but same sailing, and I was charge a cancellation fee. I balked and this is what Miami office insisted upon.
  6. We know we were correct and Azamara made the mistake but we got no where with proving we were correct. We should have taken a screen shot of our booked shore excursions before we boarded but this neve happened before
  7. I had the same problem a few weeks ago on Pursuit. When we boarded, we were given a shore excursion ticket for an excursion we did not pre book and the one we had pre booked for that particular port had disappeared from our account. When we told shore excursion desk that Azamara made a mistake, they did not believe us as our account showed this new excursion which we had never booked. In order to switch back to the excursion we had previously booked, we would have to pay the new price which was $75 more than when we had booked it Hmmmm
  8. I took the train in Aberdeen to Stonehaven to then tour Dunnatar Castle. It was wonderful. We stopped to have lunch at the Ship Inn on the harbor. Great day!
  9. I was also just on the Pursuit and had problems with shore excursions. I had booked an excursion prior to sailing and it was on my online account as booked but somehow Azamara switched excursions on me and I had not taken a screen shot so shore excursions did not believe me. My traveling companions had the same issue with the same excursion. The price went from $124 to $199 onboard. Another excursion was changed to two hours shorter with no lunch as promised and the price went up $75. The onboard account was also incorrect. I gave up. BUT the rest of the experience on Pursuit was wonderful. I have booked more Azamara but will take written proof of everything.
  10. I was just there on Pursuit. Yes south harbor and Azamara provided a shuttle
  11. I am on the Pursuit . The Ultimate Bev Chardonnay as pictured above is not bad . Rather weak but not bad. The Cab on Ultimate Bev is from S . Africa- Excelsoir , and is pretty good
  12. Hi. I wondered what other people have experienced when they cancel a cruise to rebook the same cruise under a different promotion and different category. I thought if one rebooked right away then there would be no cancellation fee of $75. I am being charged this fee although my traveling companion , who did the same thing. on this same cruise at the same time, was told there is no fee. I have my booking with a TA ( who says the fee is not theirs) and my friend has booking with Azamara. Should I push this issue?
  13. Good point. How do we know the real price?

    New website.

My cruise sails in two weeks. I don't see anywhere to check in online. Is that still done? Or is the website still missing that part of what used to be ?
  15. Hi! I am on the Scotland Intensive July 10 on Pursuit and the shore excursions you referenced as increasing in price happened exactly the same on this sailing! I had booked five prior to the website mess and the prices are now all dramatically increased . I have been researching private excursions but have found them to be booked up already. Maybe I will be walking around town or taking a taxi for some ports. Some of the excursions say that the cost is a million dollars! I can't understand what is taking months for Azamara to get their website and our accounts straightened out either. I know that when I get on the ship, I will still enjoy my time .
  16. Several times I have booked solo and later had a friend join me in the cabin. If the price increased then, yes, the whole cabin price will increase to current rates and it may not be a deal to have a cabin mate. It could cost you more yourself to have her in your cabin. This happened to me recently so my friend booked her own solo cabin. I am not sure, but this may only happen after final payment.
  17. I am also a senior solo cruiser who has sailed Azamara as a solo several times. Azamara treats solo guests wonderfully; first night gathering with , usually, the assistant cruse director, and open invitation to continue to gather at a table for dinner. I always attend the first night gathering and enjoy meeting the other solo guests. I actually am on that same sailing in July, sailing solo in the cabin, but have two family members in another cabin. Azamara tends to have friendly cruisers and a solo traveler does not have to feel alone. Azamara has been my favorite cruise line

    New website.

It has been quite concerning all around, but I had to laugh when a shore excursion on my upcoming cruise was priced at US$ 1,00,000. One million dollars !!! And no description of what is entails. Hard to plan for this cruise.

    New website.

I have also noticed that there are no solo rates reflected in any of the cruises on the new website. I was on Onward one month ago and was given a list of the sailings offering solo rates. One that I booked for July ( only half full) shows a price of 125% more than I paid for my cabin. The new promotion out today states 50% off of second person in the cabin, but the base price must have gone up as well as no solo rates. Maybe this is another glitch in the new system

    Lima, Peru

Yes I was on Onward in February. We were ending the cruise in Lima. We arrived on February 11 in time for an afternoon shore excursion, Glimpse of Lima, which lasted five hours. There were many people out and about enjoying the city, but there were also many armed police and some streets blocked from pedestrians. Our guide left a man behind in a museum because she was not organized and walked too quickly. That was of great concern and we did have someone go find the man and return him to our group. We had no Azamara representative in our group. Safety in the city was most probably a concern and may have been mentioned to shore excursion staff upon our return
  21. Thanks! I did get this turned around. The account info on the TV is confusing . It is often incorrect and then sometimes it will be corrected but one needs to keep checking
  22. In people’s experience, is spa charges and cocktail charges first taken out of refundable onboard credit? I know that tips are taken out of that. I ask because I am onboard now and spa service and cocktails are being taken out of refundable onboard credit not the Azamara given non refundable credit
  23. Thanks for the spa details for face and body treatments. Can you also share the list of hair and nail services? Thanks
  24. Thank you for that, Cruiserchuck. At least I am not alone in this. My sailing is only half booked with most Aqua cabins not booked and over half of the verandas not booked. Odd though
  25. I am not looking a gift horse in the mouth ( being ungrateful or critical of a gift) . Nor do I think most of the posters here are ungrateful. Just trying to understand the system for allowed upgrades. Why is one asked to pay $20 per day and another is asked to pay $285 per day to upgrade from veranda to Aqua. I am grateful for this opportunity and will enjoy
