  1. We always use www.cruisedeckplans.com It has all the cruise lines and ships and shows cabins with noise problems, obstructions, etc. and you can move one deck onto another to see what's above/below you. Lots of useful info.
  2. The last time we left on a cruise that departed on Friday the 13th was on 3/13/2020. 2 days later we were told that we would be returning to port since the world was shutting down for Covid!
  3. You need the app and their reservation number and passports to do the check in. You can do the photos later or at the pier. If you opt to do them later, take their photos within the app and they will upload. The most important thing to do is check in at midnight EST to get the earliest boarding time.
  4. Does anyone who's sailed on Silhouette recently know definitively if there's pickleball? Conflicting answers appear on various sites. TIA
  5. We generally arrange to park our car at the hotel where we stay the night before the cruise and then Uber or Lyft from the hotel to the port and back. Since DH has a back issue, it's worth it to us for the convenience of being dropped off/picked up at the terminal without having to handle our luggage. Often the hotel offers reasonable parking and the combination parking/Uber cost combined with the convenience of having someone else handle the luggage works out better. Just a though you might want to consider.
  6. Just a FYI. There is an outlet in the bathroom above the sink near the ceiling. It is a low voltage only though it's good for an electric shaver or to charge an electric toothbrush.
  7. Maybe live in UK but not US or Canada yet?
  8. Do you have a dining package or are you booking individual reservations?
  9. Anytime we've done Go Green, the steward cleaned the room during the AM hours and straightened and refreshed the room (including replacing used towels) in the evening turn down service. Honestly, we noticed no difference in the service we received when we weren't signed up for the program. I suppose you could ask your steward when you meet them for the cleaning at night if you prefer.
  10. I agree to respectfully not share your opinion about the chairs.
  11. Blu is wonderful....but the food and service in Murano is waaay better. We don't think the other specialty restaurants aboard are worth the cost. That being said given your cost differential, we'd opt for the 5 night dining plan and skip Blu.
  12. Call and/or email executive offices. The person I spoke with this morning said they are being inundated with calls and emails about the footstool issue. Maybe this will be reversed if enough of a dustup happens.
  13. Because it isn't a verandah! It's a window that rolls down and can be locked at any time by the Captain. It also isn't furnished with chairs that are comfortable to sit on. Just 2 of many reasons.
  14. Yes, pave the pool deck with loungers so close together that a person cannot walk between them to sit down and that's okay, but a footstool on a balcony is a safety issue. That would be laughable if it wasn't so ridiculous. I told them that the optics of this is that X wants to make the cabins as uncomfortable as possible to make passengers leave their cabins and spend money. I asked whether they would remove the beds from the cabins if people tripped over them! Way more people trip into and out of the raised bathroom doors than trip on footstools! Are bathrooms next to go?
  15. I got a call this AM about my email to the executive offices as well. I heard the same "safety issues" nonsense and in fact offered to sign a waiver. They said still a hard no and likened the safety issues with the footstools to the safety issues that made them disallow smoking in cabins due to fire safety. That is just ridiculous!!!!
  16. The "Murano type" restaurants were named after Ocean Liners of old. The Infinity, for example, had the SS United States. The menu was the same as the Murano Restaurants on the S-class ships.
  17. Try the website using an incognito or InPrivate window. Generally the website only works wells for me when I do that.
  18. It was totally because of how hard he shut it. He pulled it closed behind him with the handle in the locked position! Don't worry, the screeching sound will be a warning lol!
  19. We had a crazy one-up of this. I enjoy sitting on the balcony in the early morning hours with a good book, some hot coffee and buttery croissants. I was doing just that on the first of 3 sea days on Infinity one lovely morning when DH decided to come out and join me. Using a bit of muscle (maybe more than a bit) he pulled the balcony door shut behind him with a very loud screech. Before I could stop him, the door was shut and locked with both of us in our robes and no phones. We were traveling by ourselves, so no one would miss us. When we stopped laughing, we realized our dilemma. After about an hour we heard our next door neighbor come out to their balcony and asked them to alert our cabin steward to rescue us. She promptly did so and spent the remainder of our time on board laughing at as each time she saw us. Needless to say, we're now super careful about the balcony doors each time we go out there.
  20. Pardon my senior moment, but I don't recall when or where I signed up for Go Green on my cruise last year. I can find it explained on the X website, but can find no way to sign up for it in either the website or the app. Did it only show up once you do your On Line Check-In? I seem to remember signing up on the app on all of our previous cruises but can't find it. TIA
