I figure that the cruise lines are 'testing the waters' to see what people are actually willing to pay for a cruise. If they sell cabins at these highly inflated prices, then all is good to them because the excess can be used to pay down their massive debt from the Covid shutdown. If they can't sell for these prices, they will have to adjust their expectations. It really is, ultimately, up to the consumer. We have one cruise we paid more for than we wanted to, and will watch pricing on it. It was just a trip that we really, really wanted to take. Otherwise, we shop around Celebrity and RCI, and if the prices aren't what we are willing to pay, we figure there are so many other travel choices to explore. And we will spend our dollars on those, if cruise lines are too pricey for us. I'm personally willing to wait them out, see if the pricing moderates, and when we retire, book close to sailing date for discounted rates, if those are available.

I agree. That’s what happens when ‘bean counters’ are put in charge. And I’m an accountant. 😕 When I saw that the CFO (Jason Liberty) was chosen as the CEO, I knew things would be headed this way. They chose him for this very reason. To weather the financial storm ahead. They need someone in charge to slash costs while trying to stay afloat with the massive debt. That said, even if all the debt is eventually covered, I believe the changes will stand to increase profit,

Agree. I will reserve judgement too, but if they look like that, yuck! “Here’s your crystal block with a pic glued to the back. We hope the photo stays on better than the lamination on your cruise card.” 😁

Possibly some are going to junk folders. I get mine every time.

Just a heads up. We got the 35k points/$1000 spend on my husband’s authorized user card, and I got the 17.5k points/$500 spend on my card. We both were able to use, and points for both posted. This is for anyone else who received different offers on different cards, and was wondering if AMEX would honor both. They did for ours.

Best choices for 150 Central Park

We eat at 150 CP every time we cruise Oasis class. The cucumber martini is amazing. I have 2. 😁 We have enjoyed everything we have had there. -
Any news of RCCL going back to in person muster drills?

I agree. Especially since you can check in immediately. -
I came on CC only to tell you how to break the rules on RCI. 🏆 🙄 Welcome to CC.

On the cruises we have sailed (Celebrity and RCI), about 5-10% of the people masked. We will mask if required.

What's going on with Royal Caribbean?
barbeyg replied to ksuyen's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We have sailed several times since the restart, and had excellent service and food on those cruises. We only occasionally eat in the dining room, but that was our practice before the shutdown. We prefer smaller, less crowded, dining venues. As far as pricing for cruises, we find them to be back like they were before Covid. We typically book very early for a good price, and over time, possibly have a small price decrease that we can call for. That is rare for us. This is the way it was normally. Many don’t seem to remember that. -
No free venues for espresso based coffees. We picked our coffees up at the 270° cafe. We always have shared our card, no problem. Double shots = double punches on the card, so one shot per punch. The last time we sailed, the card was the same price onboard. However we last bought the card prior to Covid, so maybe someone else can answer that more recently.
