I talked to them in WindJammer, the group I spoke with were Vietnamese. They were a hit in Karaoke. -

Next time get the North Lot. A little more expensive but the walk to the car beats waiting for a shuttle. -
Icon of the Seas Galveston comment by Michael Bayley

This post came to my mind while watching Royal Caribbean TV channel 1 on the Allure about the Icon of the Seas. After experiencing the efficiency of T10, hearing and seeing so many international visitors flying to Houston just to take the Allure, I really think there is a business case for bringing such a ship to Galveston. Carnival is debuting a new ship at Galveston. Shows the importance of the 4 busiest US cruise port. -
Royal Caribbean cruise terminal Galveston
longhorn2004 replied to cynt's topic in Gulf Coast Departures
That terminal is AWESOME!!!! My party was on Allure in 17 minutes from the side walk to ship. Arriving I went from Gangway to sidewalk in 9 minutes, yes 9 minutes. I love that terminal! I had some novices with me who took their first cruise in 2019. Even they noticed how better the experience was in the new Terminal 10. Carnival, you might want to take note. Your pax do not want to wait outside for an hour for security (Terminal 1), or have the ambience of a Costco (Terminal 2) . -
Port of Galveston 2023 Schedule
longhorn2004 replied to TxShipShape's topic in Gulf Coast Departures
Wow......that's........not......... confusing.......... If they are going to do this then please put up better signage. Was not sure which light to turn into for Terminal 10, so I followed the charter buses to the correct turn. -
North Lot, just used it last week. Incredibly convenient, or splurge for the cover lot and be closer to the terminal.

:We did the self luggage disembarkation. Our time was 8:30-9AM, they let us off early, the Amber room was almost empty by 7:30. From gangway , through the terminal to sidewalk in 9 minutes and yes I timed it. Deeply impressed with how Royal processes you quickly when departing and arriving. Carnival, take note. To the OP, nice pictures, and reviews. I know we must have passed each other a couple times on this cruise. -

Do celebrity guests get complimentary robes? Sometimes you see too much from the balcony -

And Pride was bopping up and down while tied down in port. Notice the lines were not tight That could be designed to allow it room to move in the active seas. I read I’d cruise ships having to skip the port due to roughy seas and now I can see why. -

On Allure too. Think we had a mechanical issue leaving Costa Maya. We left then started going backwards to the port. The azipod on the. Right rear would turn to the right ever so often. Check out channe 3 on the ship tv and you can see the weird maneuvers or check out marine tracker. Seems fixed and we are heading to Cozy. -
VOOM Internet Package Question

I picked the suf and stream because my wife needs the to ability to upload her work. Is Vroom the internet provider? They have their own Kiosk on Allure? -
VOOM Internet Package Question
longhorn2004 replied to RobinKS's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You are right, just got off the phone and even the operator's system would not allow any changes. Arrrgh. Oh well, I guess Guest Services will be the first stop on board. So frustrating. Thank you for you assistance and information, you have been more helpful than Royal Customer's Service. -
VOOM Internet Package Question
longhorn2004 replied to RobinKS's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thank you, still on hold, thank you for replying so quickly. I now know what option to ask for, only need it for three days. Thank you. I leave this Sunday and Royal has me locked out and telling me to buy onboard. It has not been 48 hours yet. Arrrrrgh. -
VOOM Internet Package Question

Thanks, still on hold with Royal, so I do not have to buy internet for the whole trip if I do not need it? Thank you for responding to me faster than Royal................ -
VOOM Internet Package Question

How much is the zoom package? I only need the internet for a couple of days. Waiting on the phone with Royal, probably get the question answered faster here. -
Royal Caribbean cruise terminal Galveston
longhorn2004 replied to cynt's topic in Gulf Coast Departures
So how was security so fast? I hated the one to two hour waits at the other two terminals. Carnival is going to have to dig deep into its pockets and match the Royal debarkation experience at the two other terminals. -

It its possible after two years and two more Icon class ships are delivered that one of them will be assigned to Galveston. -

Looks like they are painting the bottom of the ship. So how do they paint the bottom of the ship sitting on blocks? -

The ship is the destination. Just as Oasis caused a sensation when it debuted so will Icon. -

Elegance goes out the window having to maximize precious real estate. The bow looks cool and contemporary and nice adjustment to the livery in the rear.
