What will the weather be like?

We did a free walking tour in Barcelona- highly recommend!! Also did the musicals place, sagrada familia and the famous park. We stayed at hotel central.. it was great!

i went on Epic in 2015 and now possibly going on Epic in June. It looks to be about half the size. Yay. I’m trying to remember how many specialty restaurants there are? Is it worth getting the SDP? I’ve read some can’t get reservations until very late? Are the non specialty ones decent? We will get the UBP package and either the SDP or WiFi pkg. any other big differences on Star.

Looking to go on the June cruise. How far in advance are specialty reservations made? Been 2 years since I was on NCL. Heard this ship is old but reviews are overall decent.
-
Thx. We definitely got the UBP last time. Thx
-
just chatted online with NVL agent- said for 7 days the unlimited pkg is $623 plus $124 (tips) been 2 years since I cruised on NCL but this seems really HIGH! are there any free perks I believe we maybe got a free drink package before
-
just curious how you enjoyed the cruise ? what did you end up doing in each port?

How much is the package for a 7 day cruise?

I am thinking about a solo cruise- not a huge cruiser but know how to do it- how do meals work? I realize if you are on a ship that caters to solos you may eat with them but what if not- how do other cruise lines handle solo travelers at meals- do you just go to the buffet mainly?
any other suggestions- guess it is hard to book excursions ahead of time with other solo travelers?
please send me any links etc

Thanks for your feedback!! Now to see what they charge for a single!!
I was on Wind Surf in December as a solo and there was not much entertainment on the ship except for a duo who played at the bar area above the pool and a group in the main lounge that played in the evening, and one night had crew talent show. Since the ship was at the ports most of the day this did not prove a problem for me and with the smaller number of passengers you will not feel "lost in the crowd" as one an on the larger ships. The vibe on these smaller ships is different from the large cruise ships as people do not seem to need to be entertained. Also this was my first Wind Star cruise and this was so much better than any other main line cruise I ever did. I think you will really enjoy, -
We went on SIlver Shadow to Alaska last summer. First timers for our family except our mother who had been on silversea before we were unimpressed with the food which we were told would be 5 star. Not much decent entertainment except for trivia and casino. We were a group of 18-80. The college age kids wanted to get on the big boats when we docked. We still had a great time together. Didn’t notice that the ship looked old.

i an considering Windstar for a cruise to Greece. How is the entertainment? Is this an easy cruise to do single? I’ve been on huge ships and silversea which is small but never as a single passenger.

Silver Shadow doesn't sound too promising. What about the cabin -- is it spacious and comfortable and updated? And the excursions -- are they well taylored and reasonably priced?
We weren't in the room that much but it was fine. I'm sure there are larger suites though. I booked all excursions myself bc we had a group of 12 and it was less $$$...

We just returned from our cruise and had pre booked Island Wings about 5 months earlier. It was wonderful. Highlight of our trip
My mother (79) loved it- it was the highlight of her trip!!
-
We took it from ANC to Seward- it is 4.5 hours- not sure when it leaves but I'd assume early! We got on at 1:00 so the other passengers must have gotten on before 8
-
We went with Captain Harry( Weather Permitting) last week- holds only 12 and you get a great history lesson!! He got 10 stars from our group of 12
-
We were on Silver Shadow last week in Alaska! Staff was incredible- we had suites on 6(Veranda) Everything is small- bars, restaurants, casino- Food was mediocre............ Entertainment- thumbs down! only 1 show a night but they always had something going on in lounge late around10-1
-
Yes, but fifteen trolleys a night should keep passengers nicely fed ...... :)
Some of the public comments below were thought provoking.
"They usually score in the 90's because the inspectors don't know to look in staff cabins. The only reason they got caught this time is because an employee outed them. How stupid do they think people are?"
this was from 7/2013........... surely that isn't still happening!!
-
HAHA apparently that does make sense but they could come up with more variety of choices at night.
-
All proteins Even the bacon...
Had NO idea- is it like that on every ship?
-
Don't worry you're be home soon. Frozen food is not for everyone.
is it all frozen?

Our group of 12 had a wonderful first time in Alaska on the Shadow other than the first day of seasickness- (3/4 of boat was sick according to our butler) and the food just was so-so- My mother said it was a top end ship so we had great expectations of the food. the only thing that we could figure out was that they couldn't get the better food in Alaska- a lot of repeats every night!!
Service was OUTSTANDING!
First timer!

im looking at the Greek Islands Cruise. Is there a drink package? How does dining work? Last cruise was a silversea and we had drinks included and reservations each night. How many guests fit on Windstar?
