I am having to pack for my daughter now b/c she is meeting us on cruise- taking her bag to my sisters next week where she will meet us-Can anyone post a list of suggested items- mainly for the unpredictable weather- thinking rain coat/ fleece- jeans vs shorts... anyone that has been this time of year please chime in thanks Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan and Juneau
-
for those that have been on this line, how much room is there to store bags? we will be on the Shadow this summer and trying to determine duffles vs suitcase?
-
We are also going in June and I have booked all independent tours so far- hope to book the Skagway train and sitka ocean raft thru SS- we are booked on a small boat for whale watching-
-
we are going on Silver Shadow over the 4th of July- group of 12 from 18 20 21 22 24 24 52 53 55 58 58 79

ok thanks.. we can always go eat in MDR or order room service it if is really late
-
that's interesting b/c the TA was able to make 3 the day before and got confirmation from the ship and now the others are showing up each day at 7...so you can't request 8 or 9?
-
we were able to get all the early times- hope we aren't making a mistake going so early but my mother doesn't stay up late...
-
My TA just asked if we wanted to get insurance for this excursion and I just looked to see cancellation policy which is as follows:
-
-
Prior to the departure: 10% cancellation fee up until 24 hours prior to the excursion.
-
If you cancel within 24 hours: No refund.
-
Operator Cancellation due to weather: 100% refund.
she mentioned unforeseen circumstances which I would assume if ship can't dock-this is in Juneau on 7/2/17
it is very $$$ excursion any suggestions? haven't asked price for the travel insurance yet

Ketchikan- no plans yet
any suggestions??

We are doing this cruise 6/29-7/6- I am in process of booking things to do for a group of 12
what did you do in Sitka?
Did anyone go sea kayaking in haines?
Boys will fish 2 times and we are dog sledding and whale watching in Juneau
Nothing planned in Ketchikan yet-may just walk around
-
I am planning for a family trip-group of 12 kids are 18-24
Sitka- boys fish- mom/s girls -ocean rafting
Juneau- Whale watching in AM and Dog sled tour 1:45
Skagway-Boys fish, Mom/daughters White pass train, college girls- lake chilkoot sea kayaking
Ketchikan- only there 12-5-thinking about Misty Fjords floatplane or just walking around and save that money but I've read so many great reviews-girls might zipline
any tips don't do's or suggestions??
-
thx for the tips
-
we are looking at this tour also- what else do you do on the tour?
-
When does the ship require you to be back on board before it leaves port each day ?
-
thanks-exactly what I was trying to find out
-
we are booked and I heard from everyone that has done it said it is worth every penny!!
-
Can anyone tell me how this works? I just asked the TA and she is looking into it but we check in at 12 and leave at 1 for a 4.5 train ride- are the bags taken by Silversea when we check in and then we just board the ship... are there food/drinks/bar on the train? any other tips....
-
What a bummer- My mom will be pretty upset if we don't get the earlier time...Oh well
-
In Juneau they are the same tour. It's an hour added for the transfer. I'll speculate that the independent vendor is still cheaper than what you are paying.
I booked with Temsco for dog sledding tour- thru our ship it is $90 more- same amount of time....
dining attire ?
in Silversea
Posted
This is our first time on Silversea- what is attire in the Grill and La Terrazza? We go to Le Champagne one night and I know it is the dressiest- so coat/tie and nice dress .. what about the others? jeans ok in The restaurant?
