We had rough seas the first night. The pills didn't really help 9/12 of our group were either throwing up or queasy!!
-
On the Shadiow and pool is NOT heated!

Our group of 12 has enjoyed our first cruise with Silversea. The staff is phenomenal !! Only complaints are there's nothing to do and food in La Terrazza could be better !! I liked it !! We've done team trivia, and went to show last night which was okay. All are winning in the casino! First pretty day was today so pool deck is packed. Went on great excursions too. Weather wasn't very nice though. It it's Alaska! we were all seasick the first night and next day. They ran out of armbands! It was really bad!

We are on silver shadow and the dress code is not enforced. We've seen many men not wearing jackets at night in La Terrazza. Our group didn't wear them one night also..

We are going from Seward to Vancouver

just wondering if there is a lot of movement on the Shadow in Alaska? I've only been seasick one time but it was on a big ship in Caribbean many moons ago!!
-
we leave tomorrow- and it doesn't look like the sun will ever be shining- what are the chances we really need sunscreen?

Suggest you get insect repellent.
Lemon eucalyptus repel.
It's amazing.
Plant based. It worked.
Just ordered some. Thx

I have been on Floatplane tours with a company called ISLAND WINGS twice.....to the Misty Fjords......it is absolutely

thx- friend just got off a different ship and said they only had 2 outlets- didn't want to pack a strip if not needed -also said hairdryer was terrible-sorry to bother you!
-
We will be on Shadow next week- about how many plugs in each room and is the hairdryer very strong or should we pack one?

Don't worry too much, you won't have a lot of time to play games during the day due to this is a very port intensive cruise. You can spend all day off the ship and play the usual drinking games in the bar. You will definitely like the price of the drinks. Agree most of the town's are small and you can walk them in a couple of hours. Will need to be creative to find things to do in most of those towns. One thing that made the whole trip worthwhile was the helicopter ride to the mountian camp and spend the day dog sledding. Maybe the other was the Scenic train trip to the Canada gold rush area.
I've booked us in each port doing something so we will be busy! Whale watching and dog sledding in Juneau, boys fishing in Sitka, Skagway- girls going kayaking in Haines while mom and big girls go on train in Skagway- doing the Misty Fjords trip in Ketchikan.

This is our first cruise EVER together- Mom has been on 2 other Silversea and it is right up her alley. My siblings etc haven't done a cruise but I've taken mine on a few big ships!!! She was talking about the butler last night! We are very lucky!!
-
Thx. And yes I know that it is luxury and not like carnival and Norwegian!! My moms taking us all on this cruise! We are looking forward to it. Have things planned at each port!!
-
yes we board on Thursday - Alaska -coming from the South where it is usually hot and miserable but it has been rainy the last week!! Boys may hit casino but already told them it isn't much!! I am sure we will be in the bars often!
-
thanks- that's what I thought - their grandmother booked this cruise- guess they can go to bed early - lots of early excursions!!
-
So what is there to do for the younger set (college age)? Never been on this cruise line before...
