  1. Shortly after, Grandeur disappeared. Investigators soon figured out that Allure was just hungry.
  2. If you haven't gotten the email by T-minus 4 days, then you can worry.
  3. Rain in port means your ship docked in port, so the weather can't be that bad.
  4. Still way too early to be projecting models into forecasts, especially at this point in the calendar. Monitor this thread. There's been 2 posts in the last 12 hours. If there was something to this (at this point in time) there'd be a ton of discussion https://www.americanwx.com/bb/topic/56704-2022-atlantic-hurricane-season/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-6525351
  5. You could do a late seating or later My Time Dining if you wanted that.
  6. It's always been like that. Pre-covid they would pick up the kids from the MDR during the early seating at like 6:45, but that hasn't yet returned.
  7. Depends on the airline. Some will let you pick seats right away, some won't
  8. I've never had a good steak on a cruise ship, both MDR and specialties. It always seems like the steak had been sitting in a cooler for who knows how long.
  9. That's not true at all, especially for those traveling from different areas with different climates. You can get a sore throat from many sudden weather changes. I live at high altitude, very low humidity. I always get a sore throat when I come to sea level.
  10. I would never voluntarily get tested. We don't go voluntarily test ourselves for anything else and risk ending our trip.
  11. Because the CDC had rules against it. And for most crew, that struggle is made up for by making more money than they'd ever make in their home countries. The hours are a known part of the job. But all the other restrictions put many crew over the edge in their decision not to return. Sure, several other reasons, too, but this is a big one
  12. I wouldn't think so. But with check-ins that early, both groups may still actually board the ship at the same time. An aside though, if one person on a reservation has an earlier time than the others, I'd still go at the earlier time or all in the room
  13. No shore leave, having to mask 24/7 (though that's been relaxed), having to be tested every 3 days (also since relaxed), quarantining in isolation for 10+ days even if you feel 100% fine. Most certainly some who were asked to come back said "hell no" when facing a six month contract of being treated so poorly. So yes, the CDC bears a lot of the blame.
  14. And that's why cruise ships have several different cabin options, to keep all of us happy
  15. Capacity minus all the quarantine cabins the CDC makes them set aside
  16. Crew are free to get off in their home port (at least in US-based cruises) but are only allowing a growing but limited number off in ports o call.
  17. Junior Suite is basically just a bigger room. It doesn't get the full array of suite perks
  18. If you have patches of hair, just shave your head before the cruise.
  19. People cough. It happens. Funny thing it happened before covid and no one cared. You'll be fine.
  20. All the info on testing is detailed on RC's website https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-need-an-rt-pcr-test-before-i-cruise-where-should-i-go
