  1. So, when a member of staff asks you your cabin number, and you are in, say, cabin 123 on Aloha, how many say A123 and how many say Aloha 123 ? I must admit I have never considered using the name of my deck, I have always just used the initial letter. Perhaps I am in a minority.
  2. They are the ones we have. It does make me smile when people have paid thousands of dollars for their cruise, and they then try and save a few dollars by searching for the cheapest possible holders!
  3. Cicar has a good reputation as well. As I'm sure you know, just because one particular model is shown, that does not necessarily mean that you will get it, just a car of that size category.
  4. We had the cake given to us for our wedding anniversary on Princess last year.
  5. I'm sorry, but despite the length of your post, it does nothing to remedy the fact that the survey is statistically flawed. I hope your choice of car hire rental in the Canaries is based on more than Which reports. One word - Autoreisen !
  6. Great attitude ! I hope you had some wine to see you through your "exile".
  7. We normally have to ask our servers to slow down. We like 15 to 20 minutes between courses. Dinner is something to be savoured, not a scramble.
  8. And thousands of us have had no problems at all !
  9. To be pedantic, you cannot choose your disembarkation time through the app.
  10. We have a Princess Baltic cruise later this year. Somehow I doubt I will be able to afford a bottle of wine in Sweden or Finland !
  11. Sorry about that. Sekonda is not a luxury brand, but does have a reputation for being reliable.
  12. Noble Caledonian is very much a niche cruise line - their ships usually have no more than 200/250 passengers. As I understand it, their ambience is very much country hotel. The highlight of the evening is likely to be a piano recital, not a production show. Shows the futility of these rankings - trying to compare apples and pears.
  13. I must say I was of the opinion that I would never cruise on Arvia (or Iona). I now may need to rethink !
  14. I'd agree, but as Angel57 said, it is a slippery slope. Before you know it, men will be trying to enter with sports shorts. Why not allow shorts anywhere in the ship, but not the MDR ?
  15. As I posted elsewhere, the issue we have is that it is not always easy to carry on a minimum of 18 bottles of wine. We therefore buy Princess Plus, and pay the extra for the Premier wines by the glass.
  16. Actually, the British ambience is one of the reasons why we prefer Princess!
  17. And that then leads to the big question - how do you define "tailored" ?
  18. That's just enough for the first day for us.
  19. I think that is the nub of the matter. The samples are not representative. Any table that gives first place to a cruise line, on the basis of 31 responses, out of over 1700 replies, is not worth serious consideration.
  20. I remember that a trader in Kuala Lumpur tried to persuade me to buy a Rolex from him, as it had a genuine Sekonda movement inside.
  21. Have a great holiday. Driving in Madeira can be, what's the word, ........interesting. Hope you have been practising your hill starts !
