Increase in Hotel and Dining Service Charge (aka Auto-Gratuities)
Poole Boy replied to bluemarble's topic in Cunard Line
Why not just ask the Purser to reduce the daily gratuities to what every level you want when you are on board, or remove entirely and tip in cash as deserved -
May3rd Britannia - Ocean Regal Princess - QE2 Sirena - Horizon So 101/ City is possibly free for AQ , as it is on April 27th, in a nice position in the Western Docks

MERGED: Queen Mary 2 world voyage 2024 Itinerary Change
Poole Boy replied to tjunmin's topic in Cunard Line
Unlikely Cunard's decision, Sri Lanka immigration will make that decision. -
There appears to be plenty of gaps in the Cape Town port schedules around April 10th, just before QV arrives in Cape Town
-
QM2 is due to depart Colombo on March 31, one day later than QV, both are due into Southampton on April 28th. If QM2 does re route back via Cape Town ( and follow QV) there would be more than enough time to get back into Southampton on schedule.
-
If the ship re routes it is likely to be from Singapore and return via Cape Town, so your existing flights should be OK if you are happy with the new cruise itinerary, ( and what every Cunard offer as compensation for the changed itinary)
-
I think it unlikely that QM 2 will go anywhere near the Red Sea, for what its worth my guess is there are two routes to get her back to Southampton. Singapore to Southampton Via Cape Town, slightly less disruptive as only 2 segments cancelled, however it does mean a duplicated itinerary for all those on the WC, timings work as it would mirror QV's itinerary from Singapore to Southampton( +/- 3days). Other option but more disruptive, from Sydney ( or possibly Hong Kong) transit across the Pacific round Cape Horn and possibly a South American / Caribbean itinerary. ( probable not stopping in any US ports) More segments cancelled , but would not contain any repeated ports for those on the full WC.

As the water from the tap is made from Sea water it is likely to be as good as distilled water, very unlikely to have any limescale or other impurities, if in doubt you can always boil it first and let it cool, and store in the fridge until required
-
They may store them on the ship for the duration of your cruise, I very much doubt they would store them long term.

Some airlines charge you a significant penalty if you do not check in on line, assuming airport check in is available ( it may not be)

QV in Fort Lauderdale - Does the ship need to be zeroed out?
Poole Boy replied to neeuqdrazil's topic in Cunard Line
No one here can confirm QV will not need to Zero out at FLL, that decision is made by Homeland security and them alone. As FLL is not the port of entry to the USA, then there is a very strong probability that FLL will be treated as a internal port stop and there will be no need to Zero out. -
Getting a bit worried about our QE cruise
Poole Boy replied to alibabacruisers's topic in Cunard Line
The Suez is a major shipping route, there would have to be a major escolation for the Suez to close. If Cunard decide to re route, then the ship will not call at Dubai and you will get a full refund, as they would have to re route by going round southern Africa, to get back to Europe from SE Asia. likely re route legs would be Singapore - Cape Town , Cape Town - Southampton If you decide you still don't want to travel, then you should have the option to transfer you booking or cancel and lose your deposit. Due to the importance of the Suez Canal, western governments will do every thing that can to keep it open and safe for shipping to transit, as they already to with warship escorts and a big navel presence in the red sea due to the pirate threats. FYI QE transited the Suez without incident about a week ago. -
Just call the main number and ask for the flight team

Check the Jet 2 website for taking extra luggage, being scheduled or charter should not make any difference to taking extra luggage
-
We did a sail by on QE as part of the 2016 World cruise on the way down to Cape Town
-
Unlikely that Cunard or the authorities would allow unaccompanied luggage to sail on the ship.

Britannia MDR is not open to embarking passengers.
