  1. If people pay these charges then they will continue and spread to other items , if people don’t pay then they will disappear, simple business logic. Example being speciality restaurants, food is perfectly acceptable in MDR , people are happy to pay again for Dinner or lunch in a speciality restaurant, so QA has more chargeable restaurants, bean counters are happy
  2. In my opinion long and narrow , from what I have seen similar to a balcony just longer, I feel the bathroom is very cramped but the shower is a big plus, also lacking in wardrobe space I will post some pictures later
  3. Price for the maiden is the same as the next 2 week cruise we paid £4k each for P2 for 7 days the next cruise to the Canaries was also £4k each in the same cabin , for 2 weeks, so we have paid a significant premium to be on the cruise , to add to some other comments regarding speed of service, you are not alone, Princess grills was just as bad, for both food and drink, to forever to get even the basics.
  4. Or John Lewis, who have a surprisingly good range of formal suits available at the moment.
  5. Looks a bit tight either side of the bed, first impression ( from the video) it is not as wide as the insides on QE or QV. but same bathrooms as the balcony cabins so a big plus there, will need to wait a couple of weeks to see one in real life
  6. Notice to Mariners issued by Port Of Southampton today QUEEN ANNE - Fireworks - 03rd May 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that fireworks will be displayed during the departure of QUEEN ANNE on Friday 3rd May 2024. The firework display for QUEEN ANNE will take place at approximately 2100 BST and be launched from barges which will be positioned to the south-east of the Dibden Bay Buoy. There will be an enforced exclusion zone of 300m around the barges from 2045 BST and will remain in force until the display has completed. Owners of small craft who intend to view the display must adhere to this exclusion zone. The display will last for approximately 15 minutes. Southampton VTS will broadcast warnings and variations as appropriate.
  7. My home for 4 days in October
  8. Any chance we can see an standard outside or inside cabin ?
  9. Well from the outside, she looks like a Cunard ship
  10. Getting real now, finally the countdown can begin
  11. It could be that the security lanes were busy, security check and searches is usually the bottleneck, rather than checkin.
  12. Boarding times are assigned to ensure a smooth flow of people through the terminal, I'm sure your hotel will hold you bags for a couple of hours and you could go to West Quay for lunch and then go to the port. The risk is if you go to the port early they may keep you waiting outside until there is space inside the terminal building. In any event boarding does not usually start until 12:30, so the terminal will already be busy.
  13. Still moored at the shipyard, not started her voyage to Southampton
  14. Queen Elizabeth visit to a very damp Kiriwina Feb 2020
  15. Alotau PNG from Queen Elizabeth Feb / March 2020
  16. Some Pictures from Conflict Islands PNG, Feb 2020, just before the world changed
  17. Due to the on going situation in the Gulf Queen Anne will return to Southampton Via Cape Town at the end of the 2025 World Cruise, rather than the planned Suez Transit. New Itinerary from Cape Town as follows 11‌ April Cape Town, South Africa 12‌ April Sea Day 13‌ April Walvis Bay, Namibia 14 -‌ 19‌ April Sea Days 20‌ April Dakar, Senegal 21 -‌ 22‌ April Sea Days 23‌ April Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain 24 -‌ 26‌ April Sea Days 27‌ April Southampton, UK I guess the SIN - CPT segment will follow this years QM2 itinary
  18. Given the premium we are paying to be on the maiden "teeny bit peeved" is an understatement, especially as Cunard started to release details on the naming ceremony after the balance due date for the maiden voyage.
  19. So far Cunards focus appears to be all about the naming ceremony, the maiden voyage appear to be an afterthought.
  20. All Cunard questions, as no one has been on QA
  21. Menus in the MDR will be very similar to the menus on any Australian cruise, there will be more Japanese items in the lido for all meals and occasionally Japanese items on the menu in the MDR, otherwise you will not see much change
  22. I done 2 transatlantic in January, one was force 9 gales and 20 foot seas for the first 4 days the other was a mill pond. Being south will give a good chance of better weather, but it is any body's guess what the weather will be doing in 2 years time
