    No I mean Las Vegas USA. however I didn’t realise Canada doesn’t have a tax treaty! I am correct though that if you live in a country that does (as I do) you can complete a W8-BEN to avoid the withholding. Most vegas casinos do the paperwork with/ for you these days.

    That’s not correct. In vegas they give you a form to fill in saying you’re foreign and then you don’t pay the taxes.

    Yes they really should adjust to the custom/ culture of the market the ship is departing from, as people form that market will likely make up the majority of passengers . So in Europe they should include the tips in the price and problem solved! They do it for drinks packages etc, so not sure why they don’t do it for the actual cruise.

    We have Chops +1 package - was the tip included in this when we purchased? I didn't think to check at the time (was too excited about booking!)

    That's expensive - on our cruise next month it's 'only' £79 per person (I still think that's expensive, and am not paying it, but it's half yours!). Wait until Black Friday - they should have some good deals then. Not sure why it's so much more on your cruise.....

    You can reserve speciality restaurants if not buying a package and paying, you just can’t reserve them if you have any dining packages (apart from Chops +1 where they book Chops for you).

    Just FYI for future reference that doesn’t mean you’ll be eating until 9. It means you can eat anytime between 6.45 and 9. A 6.45 booking would be finished by around 8. if that’s still too late for you, fine - but just wanted to clarify.

    That’s one of the few things MSC gets right, they choose your table mates based on language spoken.

    Can you please post a link to this announcement? Someone on my roll call called RC and was told we’ll be able to book 48 hours before boarding! So I want to refer them to this.

    For info, we called on Tuesday to cancel the drinks package we bought in the Black Friday sale (already a decent deal at £54 pp per day) and change to this. All went through ok and they said we would get the refund in 30 days. Refund appeared on the card today 🙂 With the exchange rate as it is, we need all the help we can get as we sail out of Miami!

    Unlikely, they need you off the ship to get it ready for the next cruise.

    We're also staying here before our Oasis cruise in November.

    Assuming Anthem still has We Will Rock You, then entertainment is better on Royal. The show was as good as the West End version in our view (we had Curly Watts from Coronation Street play the Nigel Planer character). Food was a bit better on X, however I haven't sailed Royal since Anthem launched, so unsure on current offering. Both Anthem and X were beautiful ships.

    I think (?) it was added to Oasis during the amplification? But haven't sailed on Oasis before so not sure.

    I see in your signature you have Oasis booked, they have a Playmakers.

    What time was your MTD reservation? Or if not reserved, what time were you trying to get in?

    Right - which is why I specified the cruise is in November in my post so people could advise for that time of year.....

    @RocCruisers Have you done this tour yet - if so, how was it? We are thinking of booking it for November.

    We will be visiting St Maarten in November on Oasis, and I want to book an excursion with a 3rd party. I believe that St Maarten is 1 hour ahead of ship time - does anyone know if that's correct? The planner says we dock at 8am, so I'm assuming therefore that we dock at 9am island time and the earliest I should book for is 10am?

    A friend recently cruised on Mariner and his daughter tested positive about halfway through. His wife moved with the daughter to a quarantine cabin while he stayed in the booked cabin with their other daughter.

    I believe this is because as has been mentioned, MTD uses the same dining room as early dining now. I’m assuming because of lack of staff to be able to run MTD concurrently with two TD sittings. Although I also don’t understand why you didn’t book early dining if you want early dining?
