  1. If person who was comped doesn't sail they will reprice the cabin at the current price for anyone in it. Easy to change names on all but one person originally booked except in this case.
  2. Just show boarding pass for second cruise. Sometimes they take them, sometimes they let you keep them. Depends on the people at the wine table. In many cases this seems to be local port people (had one bottle sealed in a taped bag with so much tape it could have survived being mailed. Tough to get it out without scissors.
  3. No camo clothes allowed in Granada! Great place to buy spices, including little woven box assortments for gifts. Personally I think their vanilla in hand-labeled bottles in the port shop is better than Cinco Soles in Mexico.
  4. Some ports require ships to buy local water and electricity. If you take one of the ship tours they will tell you that all "fresh" water is held in a separate tank, treated and tested before distributing around the ship.
  5. Or you can make reservations through your account for a specific dining room if you want.
  6. If you don't need two devices simultaneously you can just buy a 1 device plan. A two device plan allows two devices at the same time. Has nothing to do with who owns them or if you have ten devices and use them two at a time. So buy whatever is cheaper and makes sense for the type of usage you will have. We routinely share a single device plan when we don't get a package with the cruise purchase. Note that onboard speeds are not all that great. It is important to find a location with a good strong signal or your wifi will act like it is connected over a phone.
  7. Usually they have local people with Princess signs in all the baggage areas. These folks will check you in and direct you to the bus loading area. They know the flight schedules of all people who have booked transfers.
  8. Sint Maarten: We used to do the Ultimate snorkeling tour (5 times) but they no longer go over to the nice snorkeling area on the French side. Stops at Mullet Bay and at airport. Current snorkeling spot is deep water across the bay from the ship. Not great spot but RHIB boat ride still fun. From a beach standpoint Royal has been offering Mullet Bay for as low as $30. For 4 people you might beat that with a cab, but beach bar requires purchase to use restroom if not on tour (good food, though). Beach is normally very sandy and sheltered and many boat tours stop there. Royal tour gives you umbrella/loungers and restroom access. Snorkeling not great. Your group might like the Amazing Race tour. You can book this either through ship or independent but everyone starts together at a marina about 15 minutes walk from ship. You can compete with other people or just your family (we had 3 people). Need camera, one towel and someone dressed for swimming. It can be very hot in downtown Phillipsburg. You will get writing materials, a bottle of water each and a snack (drink/french fries) at the end. Slightly cheaper if you book independent and you don't have to wait for the bus. But then you wait at the marina until the bus gets there. If you have the scarves you get wet and wear around neck this is a great place to use them.
  9. Small beach facing away from waves with some kayaks and paddle boards provided. Quite a few loungers with covers. Good lunch served near the lighthouse. Last time we were there couldn't use credit card at bar because they couldn't get a wifi connection to the main island so had to use cash. Snorkeling area good enough that boat tours come in and drop people off. Very rocky entry so if high waves you need to skip this Think I prefer this to Blue Lagoon unless you go with VIP package at Blue Lagoon. They also are a smaller operation than Blue Lagoon. Balmoral is our favorite of the three.
  10. In Aruba you will likely get off around 8:30. Might be a bit tight for a public bus transfer to Hyatt, but easy in a cab. If you happen to get the farther dock it will take maybe 10 minutes extra to walk to where you can get a cab. Let your tour operator know that you are coming from a ship (if the other guests are in hotels they will likely get there before you).
  11. Crew does this all the time, so it isn't a big deal. Two issues - either carry safe contents with you or bury most of it in your luggage (you MUST carry passports off and back on the ship in US, unless the processing is done in a lounge). Second issue is if they are taking everyone off ship or not. You can sometimes sit for two hours in a lounge waiting for them to clear the ship. In that case it may be easier to pick up your documents early and leave the ship until after it clears. You will get an In Transit form that lets you bypass processing lines in the terminal but you can't get back on until they start letting new passengers on.
  12. Varies all over the place. Have reservations already for TA April 2024 but December and February short cruises and 7 day July 2024 aren't open yet.
  13. Onboard have seen this when moving around the ship - different network point confused the system. Usually fixed by first dropping and reconnecting the network and second by looking up a cruise on another ship and then selecting one of my cruises.
  14. And if you go to Coco Cay, slides will be closed much of the day since the lifeguards work the island. Typical sea day opening is around 11. You should be able to see hours on current sailings by switching to a current cruise on the app and looking up the activity. Should be similar to your cruise.
  15. Next Cruise will ALWAYS assign a new booking to your current TA unless you sign a form during the purchase indicating you don't want the booking assigned to the TA. Once this happens your TA would need to release the cruise back to Royal. It probably complicates things due to your rules on insurance and what constitutes a cruise package (comped cruise would include only the cruise, no insurance or travel). TA is working for free on this one, but still needs to give the cruise back to Royal. There is a form on the Royal website that you can fill out requesting this, but still needs the TAs action.
  16. Back to topic from hijack, Blue Lagoon has multiple excursions including beach, animal encounters and VIP. Just book one of the other encounters. Everyone goes on the same ferry.
  17. They do change prices as demand changes. If price goes down you can cancel and rebook. Probably not a great idea if price goes up. Sometimes when they change vendors they cancel your excursion and then you get to rebuy at new price. If you want you can cancel and pay the new higher price. Regardless of old description you likely are on the new tour. Assume you used the link in your Order History and it changed.
  18. Always congestion there. Cab drivers are very good at getting around most of it (although narrow road into port is a pain). Runs around $23 plus a few bucks for luggage. The dispatcher at the airport will call up a cab sized for your group. Also remember when flying home you will need to scan your luggage at the agricultural scanners. No food or stuff like straw hats. And your airline will take your luggage a MAXIMUM of 4 hours before your flight (3 for Southwest). Limited places to sit/eat before checking in.
  19. Whale watching in Juneau definitely use independent, like Alaska Shore Excursions or Harv and Marv. Either will have less than half the people on the boat (and Harv and Marv may have 8). Check the Alaska board for lots of suggestions.
  20. OP can try dumping their cache or using an anonymous browser.
  21. Two points - the time of the glass demo will be in the app. Go BEFORE that to sign up for your time. While they are doing their demo they won't schedule you and the demo pretty much takes the whole sailaway time. Second, there is no requirement for both people to be scheduled together. You paid for two appointments and they can even be on different days. Your other option is to wait until they are open later in the cruise and schedule then, but you will have fewer choices of times. Pieces have to anneal overnight after you do them. You will pick them up the next day they are open. Well-packed for taking home, although we didn't try to put them in our suitcases.
  22. I expected it to take 20 minutes last September but the bellhop showed up 2 minutes after I called him. When you check in if you don't have a cruise package they give you a paper with the bellhop number and suggested tip ($5). He did have some problems getting an elevator with space but sent us down on the first elevator that arrived and waited for free space. Hotel elevators don't go down to the port level - that bank is closer to the front door. We also stayed in the hotel lounge for a few hours after the B2B since Vancouver airport required masks at that time. Then took the train to the airport.
  23. Back in February we had no problem on Voyager getting a table for two by the windows at 6:45 even with Mytime Dining. Sometimes had to wait for people in first seating to clear our table, sometime not. Hint: There are a group of tables off to the sides of the entry in closed off hallway-like areas. Most of the two-tops there are close together but the window seats are mostly four-tops and have plenty of room around them (they gave us one of those). The real advantage of that area is that it is MUCH quieter than the main dining room.
  24. Usually have a limited time after booking to transfer but not sure what the number is.
  25. Nothing unusual about this. Refundable/non-refundable only applies before final payment. July 24 is final payment and you lose 25% of full fare if you cancel after that date.
