  1. That's where I look. I don't use the app except for onboard.
  2. We've done b2b lunches from Chops but it's never meant closing Chops.
  3. Anyone run into this lately? We normally pre book a SR for lunch on boarding day to avoid the WJ. We just did this on EN in April and have done it on every first day since before shutdown and restart. We're on Jewel in Oct/Nov for a b2b 10 night each way NE/Canada cruise and neither leg has Chops available on boarding day. We did it on Jewel this past Nov also so I know they usually do it. We will see if it's even open when we board as we know we can do a walkup if it is (or if this is something new). Just wondering if anyone else has seen this.
  4. They used to put effort into putting similar people together. When we first started cruising we were always seated with people about our age, empty nesters usually so no kids, similar C&A status most of the time. Now, it's completely random. One cruise, we were seated with 4 other people. Two were a Vietnamese woman and her 18 yr old son. English wasn't her first language, but we managed to talk we just didn't have much in common but her son was very polite and easy to converse with. At the same table were two guys (couple) who sat as far away as possible from the 4 of us, talked only to each other and never once acknowledged they were seated at a table with other people. We even said hello and they just ignored all of us. Truly weird.
  5. It also gets asked a lot on other social media sites.
  6. There are cookies everyday in the WJ, but usually only one or two varieties. Also, Park Cafe/Promenade Cafe have cookies (same ones WJ has each day). It's why my DH grabs several when he finds Ranger ones.
  7. Honestly I'm surprised they even still take requests. So many people seem to "have" to sit in a certain location such as next to a window, they have to be overwhelmed with requests. They have to plan out seating for every cruise at the end of the prior cruise. Thousands of people per ship. We have never requested a particular table or section. The most our TA does is link us if we request it because we have others we want to dine with and ask for an 8 top.
  8. We love them. I've made them from recipe online and they are not the same, but they are good. DH always grabs 6-8 whenever he finds them and brings them back to our room. They are by far the most favorite cookies onboard.
  9. Part of the problem with the chips in Park Cafe is people hoarded them. I used to see people with 5 or 6 bags at a time. I'd go to get ONE bag with my lunch and they'd be out of potato chips because those were the ones people tended to hoard. It was nothing but greed as there were reports of people taking multiple bags home. It had gotten way out of hand. This is why we can't have nice things.
  10. We used to go as soon as we boarded, but my DH isn't really interested in eating at 1100 or 1130 after having had breakfast around 8. I usually eat lunch around 1130 but he rarely eats before noon. For Jewel in Oct, he'll just have to eat a smaller breakfast and be ready to eat lunch when we board. We used to eat in the WJ all the time and by about 12 it starts getting crazy, especially with those who stake out a table with luggage and sit there until cabins open. We are hardly the only ones who want to avoid the WJ on boarding day.
  11. Key seating is only a benefit if you go early enough to use it before it opens for everyone. On EN, D+, Pinn and Key reserved show seating is at the back of the theater. We sit there sometimes, but it really isn't the best seating for anything you want to see clearly on stage. We've never found any benefit of the Key as we already get 48 hours each free internet and suite boarding since we always book JS. Boarding day lunch, we normally book a specialty (usually Chops) but for our upcoming b2b Jewel cruise in Oct, none of them appear to be open on Day 1. We'll play it by ear and do a walkup. We have used the WJ in the past on boarding day after cabins open as the crowds disperse then, but now with most opening at 2 pm, that is even more limiting.
  12. Yes, it's possible. But, why do you "need" to board at the same time? We've cruised with groups and everyone just arrives at their time and we meet up later.
  13. This has been discussed before with everyone reporting different things in the past but now that the drinks reset at like 5 am, getting a free drink shouldn't happen. Honesty, morning of departure, we just eat breakfast and leave.
  14. I do love how someone starts a thread and never comes back to answer questions. The op isn't 100% clear.
  15. That happens occasionally when they don't have enough CPB officers to work or they don't have facial recognition set up. We've been waved through 2 or 3 times out of 35 cruises. We were even waved through at Dulles one time returning from Nassau, but we were on a charter flight with my husband's company (intel community contractor). So, everyone on the flight was known and no one could book it that weren't already booked to travel through the TA they used.
  16. I've seen ports that want DL's with sepasses let people through with just a seapass. A guy in front of us in April (can't remember which port but Caribbean) said he only had his seapass with him. They told him he could go through but he needed to have his ID.
  17. You don't seem to understand that they boarded with a DL and BC and lost the DL. To leave the ship, they need both. Pretty simple.
  18. You mean when someone is throwing a hissy fit and others can't help but notice? I don't get why anyone would ever ask to see anyone else's card, but then I've never seen most of the things others have reported either.
  19. Haven't had anything in the fridges for years. They finally realized that most people don't utilize it and want to use it for their own stuff.
  20. I saw a post on FB yesterday with a chart showing the new rates. We buy an annual policy through Allianz. It covers more than RCI's does.
  21. Oh, I've got plenty of time. I'm being very proactive as I have the time right now to wait for it. Next year, when it actually expires was going to be virtually impossible to have the timeframe available.
  22. Who took her photo? It states on the State Dept site that glasses aren't allowed unless you have a medical reason with a signed statement from your doctor. I got my photo taken at CVS and the software they use verifies the photo meets all the requirements.
  23. We utilize informed delivery also.
  24. JS are rapidly approaching 5K for two people for 7 nights.
  25. It's a good thing they have computers to calculate all of that lol. We've had plenty of cruises where a discounts are applied in such a way that one guest pays more than the other.
