We just carry ours with our passports. It's not like it takes up any real space. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

$79 pp for CocoCay beach club a decent price?
BND replied to coaster's topic in Royal Caribbean International
They're Diamond on Royal and while they used to do almost exclusively Carnival, they have branched out and give really good reviews. It's not that you responded "with" the quote box, it's the way you did it. It made it look like I said what you had said. You need to reply outside the actual quote box so the quote and your response both show. Anyway, I've seen other posts on FB where people are saying the same thing we've seen on this thread. -

That looks like I said what you did about them. I didn't say that. I happen to like them and have no issues with their opinions about Carnival. You need to type outside the quote box, not in it. -

Parodeejay. Good video to watch. -
Yes, they each have their own name. Our first trip on Anthem, they were doing Dynamic Dining (loved it) and second it was just regular MDR, but they still had the names of each one. It would be very easy to remove walls and connect the entire set which we may see in the future. OP asked about Adventure though.

Baltimore for example, all but one cruise (out of 11) they made us remove the bottles from our carryon. Not only do they check size, they make sure it's wine (label). Some ports don't check as closely, but is it worth losing an entire bottle? I have at least 5 RCI corkscrews that we have been given with bottles delivered to our cabin. Stewards can provide both glasses and corkscrews. Also, you can ask for a glass or two at any bar.

This has been an issue for a long time. People cancel for a variety of reasons and expect RCI to cover them when they chose to not get insurance. We always get it so why should we pay for those who choose not to? Personal responsibility is a really difficult concept for some people.

Bermuda making change to vaccine and testing

Not happening now. The Gov of Bermuda said it's in their budget until March 2023. It's for everyone, even Bermuda citizens arriving into the country. -

Ok, but my point was there are reasons RCI doesn't go there in the winter. Caribbean is much nicer then and much calmer. -
We took Amtrak up from DC and stayed at the Hilton Penn (now a Doubletree) and it had power. We didn't even know for sure the train would be going up until a day before. We took a car service from the hotel through Newark to CL where we saw lots of stuff piled on sidewalks (mattresses, etc) and lines at some gas stations. There were multiple cars in the CL parking lot with tow trucks as water had overflowed the pier and flooded them. This was before the parking garage was built and they were still using the tent and old terminal. When we returned (9 days later I think) we took a car service into Manhattan. Tunnels had just reopened. I think we stayed a couple of days in Manhattan before taking Amtrak back. The car service drivers we had were driving 2-3 hours into PA to find gas. It was crazy.

Royal does not. They go between Apr and Oct. For a very good reason. Winter in the Atlantic can be very choppy/stormy and very cold. Bermuda is not really that warm either. It can get down into the 50's and highs avg around 70. But, they have had cold snaps where it's gotten down into the 40's. -
We cruised out of Bayonee 5 or so days after Sandy hit NJ. We were on Explorer. 900 people cancelled due to the storm (locals). Travel insurance is available for a reason.

While We Are All Enjoying Ourselves....
BND replied to Ret MP's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Just saw a post from friend who lives in N. Sarasota. He and his GF just bought their house a few months ago. It's basically destroyed, but everyone is safe. It's a mess where they live. But, they chose not to evacuate even though they were in an evacuation zone and could have easily. DH's cousin who lives east of Tampa near Lakeland fared pretty well. We got a text from him. He, his partner, his mother and his 2nd cousin and her kids all did fine with a generator and boarded up house. 2nd cousin just moved back to FL and her new to her house had a tree fall on it, not sure how much damage. Still waiting to hear from a couple of others. -

I just saw a post on FB of a screenshot of the Bermuda TA with new rules. They are dropping vaccine requirements and testing for vaccinated effective Oct 25. Which is a bit ironic considering that's just about the time cruising to Bermuda ends for the season. I'm going to search for it again as it's not at the top of my news feed page anymore.

While We Are All Enjoying Ourselves....
BND replied to Ret MP's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Our friends posted a picture from this morning out their back door overlooking the pond and there wasn't a single light on in or around the 5 or 6 houses in the photo. The pond rose but no one flooded. I'm sure they'll post more later. I'm still waiting to see something from our friends/family on the gulf. -

We have friends and family in the Tampa-St. Pete/Sarasota/Lakeland area (about 5 or 6 households) and they all chose to stay. And, it's not because they couldn't afford to leave. I wouldn't have stayed. So, some of us have been thinking about it because we know people who were in the path. We also have friends on Merritt Island and they're getting inundated with rain and also have no power right now. -
It's called a free market economy and prices are what the market will bear. It's not greed to the employees, executives and stock holders. I'm not sure why people think businesses should operate at a break even point or even a loss. Costs of everything else has gone up. People expect to get the same return today on the $500 they spent 20 years ago on a cruise today. The costs of everything has gone up. Employees expect more pay (weird I know lol). It costs more to operate the ship overall. Do you own stock in anything? Do you expect a return on your investment? So do the stockholders of a cruise line. It's been reported multiple times that cruise lines don't make much if anything on a cruise fare. Their profits come from all the extras. As for you not getting any enjoyment or value, why cruise? Maybe time to do something else.
