  1. Sorry to hear but not surprised given the last few years. Th3y always did good work for us.
  2. Ha, I was going to recommend them as well but couldn't remember the name....🍺
  3. I understand it is recommended but not required. Imho always has been a third party duplication of effort waste of time. 🍸
  4. You might luck out and get a cab but most transportation is hired cars and coaches for those with included Viking transport to the airport. Smith's is a good car service.
  5. Those are some of the roughest seas in the world. It is inevitable to have some weather issues. Sometimes (if you have taken whatever motion sickness remedy) it's amazing to sit warm and cozy with your favorite beverage and watch the awesome power of the sea. But then you also want to get places. Just know this will be very different. I worked at sea in the Arctic but the other end has to be just as much fun....😎
  6. Ha, very young folks spending their honeymoon is usually with themselves. Anyone else is just decor....
  7. I am surprised at the legs this thread has and am very happy to have something besides covid to go on about. After reading all the posts I am reminded of Clark Griswold in National Lampoon's European Vacation where Clark is in a restaurant and chats up a newlywed couple.. "have you see the Louvre?" Answer: "No". "Have you seen the Eiffel Tower?" "Nope>" Have you seen Notre Dame?" "No"...... You get the drift.🍸
  8. i will second Mollymoo on age and active. We have only ever seen one 20 or teen ( have to be at least 18 on Viking) but lots of that age in the crew. We find the crew to be exceptional and we have a number of FB friends from the crew. Also, the ship is much more refined and beautiful compared to Carnival. Much less crowds and very much better food. Shore excursions and docking locations can also be much better based on the ship size and passenger load. I started life traveling Cunard which you know has an older demographic for the most part and I have loved all of them. Even our fun Carnival cruises. I think you two will have your own idea of what to do and will have a great time on Viking. Bet you get lots of "free" drinks when your fellow pax learn you are honeymooners....🍸
  9. Each cruise line that does world cruises has a forum here on Cruise Critic. Each forum has threads about their own world cruises. Use the search function to find WC threads and read, read, read. Then ask questions and most will be happy to help you with the details.🍸
  10. Bathrobe and slippers are in for the World Cafe.😳🍸
  11. Right. That's why I am not being rude to those who wish testing would remain. Just stating that it's nice to not be told "my way or the highway" by others. Who knows? The CDC might deem Monkeypox worth shutdowns.🍹
  12. And don't you miss those sweet people that loudly told you if you didn't like Viking's testing then just don't sail? Somehow, every dog seems to get his day....🍸
  13. Our fave Alaska excursion was out of Skagway. Helicopter to a dog sled camp on a glacier. Great views going and coming with a landing on a glacier. Got to ride the dog sled with turns at the back. I was the only one to fall off.... Managed to miss the yellow snow though...😎
  14. Haha, the Magical Mystery Tour is fun but you need to like Beatles music. Liverpool has some good historical places on the waterfront. The Three Graces are large old buildings that can be toured. The Cunard Building is one of them. We found some interesting shops and a nice waterfront pub with good food just north of the pier. If you want to get a bit further afield take the ferry cross the Mersey (bet you hear the song onboard) over to the national Canalboat Museum at Ellesmere Port. The canals played an important part of the industrial age. Again, nice pubs near there.🍺
  15. I think not even that.... Ding Dong the Witch is dead??
  16. How right you are. London is to the UK like NYC is to the USA. My Mother is from Staffordshire and family lives in Shropshire, Berkshire, and Hampshire. I have been fortunate to grow up on both sides of the Pond. Well as much grown up as is.....🍺
  17. Good if you live in England. I bet most passengers have some interest in London.🍺
  18. Tilbury is principally a container/cargo port. Not very scenic. Greenwich is anchored and tied to a float in the River Thames in London. Just offshore of the Village of Greenwich, the Cutty Sark and lots of shopping and pubs. The dock used by the tenders from the ship is also the Thames Clipper boat terminal. Imho the best way to get to Westminster or Tower Bridge. Very scenic. Personally I would not book a cruise starting or ending in Tilbury. Greenwich is that much better..🍸
  19. Just trying to help fellow cruisers save money....😎
  20. Yes, I am adding that to my list of vitamins and other health food...🍹
  21. Haha, you get booze (big bottles) in a DV as long as you book a World Cruise. Think of the money you could save...🥃
