  1. News break. Our Captain just came on the PA even in the cabins. That's usually never good. But, this time he announced a live tv stream at 10:am (its 9/04am now) which will concern upcoming changes to our itinerary. Guess Mr. Hagen is telling us directly. Will report back after the video.
  2. That is good news! Thanks. Hope we sailors lost at sea get our emails..🍸
  3. An off and on rainy day in Cairns. We didi not do the boat to the barrier reef as we did that last time here. One time in the stinger suit is enough. Went to the Aquarium and it was very nice. After went walkabout in the very convenient town center and did some shopping. Ended at Dundee's Pub/Restaurant. Excellent food, much supposedly local sourced. Right on the water a short walk back to the ship. And the ship is docked right at Hemingway's Brewery.. A real working brewery with attached pub. Close enough to visit in your Viking robe and slippers......🍺🍺🍺
  4. With Viking bering the only line with scheduled transits to not avoid the Red Sea I feel Viking is closing in on negligence. It is past time for Viking to give two shiploads of passengers information on this not insignificant problem.
  5. Agreed. This has long been a complaint of ours. If you want to meet at the atrium bar for happy hour with pals, you have to yell over the pianist who, while very accomplished, plays so loudly you would think he is playing in a concert hall. Get a grip, you are playing in a bar. Tone it down....
  6. FWIW, we have sailed Seabourn and Regent. Much prefer Viking to Seabourn for reasons listed in an earlier comparison thread and think Regent is considerably better than Viking. Costs considerably more so it should be. All is totally individual opinions.🍸
  7. And no crossing the line ceremony.... All get special tats to show you crossed the line....😳
  8. viking are experimenting with you guys. By the time we get there, they have worked out all the kinks. And as to avoiding the Red Sea, we have no worries. Yall and us are on the port side. The starboard side will be facing any missiles. 😱🍸
  9. Not you, it’s my horse. Just asking your opinion. #skyalwaysgetstheopenroof. 🍺🥃🍸😎🚢
  10. Ok, this is the last time I am going to beat this dead horse. Clay, compare the view in the attached photo to your view on the Pool Deck of the Sky. The air coming in is nice but the view is compromised compared to the older ships floor to ceiling windows.
  11. After all the excitement and walking in Sydney a welcome sea day. Cloudy with intermittent rain but calm seas.😎
  12. Love Sydney. Had a walkabout from King's Wharf and ended up in the Aquarium. For all those who went on the penguin watch late at night and couldn't take pictures, I enclose a few shots of the small penguins at the aquarium .
  13. First day in Sydney was full and fun. Walkabout on the Rocks and met Mr. and Mrs Wavetripper at the Fortune of War for lunch. Ambled on to the Glenmore for a few more pints but like most pub crawls you might intend to hit 4 or 5 but after a couple of good pints the ambition modifies....🍺 After a cleanup on the ship went to a cabaret style show at the Sydney Opera house. Ok show but the walk over, while not that long, was a madhouse of people. Circular Quay area is extremely popular and it was a pleasant Saturday night. A great day in a fantastic port. Today we are relocated to the rather desolate (as far as things to do) White Bay. We have an hourly shuttle boat to the King's Wharf area so we are off to see some new stuff.😎
  14. On a better note, the view from our balcony this morning. 😎
  15. Viking is the only one not helping their passengers make new plans. I don't know why other than they don't want to face up to the passengers. Maybe they are delusional about being the first cruise ship to run the gauntlet? Everyone seems to be speculating. More than a few onboard are getting very frustrated and mad with 'Viking as they have expensive, paid for private tours to cancel but have, so far, no reason to do so. Step up Viking. Past time to give us some information to work with.
  16. Yessir! A short walk from the Circular Quay dock. Fish & chips for lunch....
  17. Eden is a pretty little village. Many holiday homes and sea views. The number one attraction, according to both Viator and TripAdvisor, is the Killer Whale Museum. Interesting for sure. Then stops in other coastal villages of Perimbula and Merimbula. Merimbula was the better of the two. Big enough for its very own McDonalds. Mostly just shops and cafes but good for a walkabout. Nothing like Clay's cliff march pictures...
  18. Alongside in Eden. Overcast and occasional drizzle. Nice looking place. Clay, wish yall were here.😎
  19. Currently on Neptune we have had Woodford at atrium bar and Explorers. No limit. Will let you know if we drink it all...😳🥃
