  1. And bacon, Carnival is still in the throes of their self-declared bacon crisis.
  2. No shirt, no shoes, no problem!
  3. Basic strategy is calculated over the long term. Playing other strategies (or "going with your gut") might work out for a session, but over the long term basic strategy works.
  4. I tend to agree. If he is not willing to show the event the respect it deserves - that is his choice. But he should hand off the event to somebody else. Not the time or place for a demonstration. My opinion.
  5. Note that there is a difference between "Fun21" and "Blackjack" with different "rules" as to when to hit or stay etc. I like Fun21 better although by the book it has worse odds than Blackjack.
  6. Can you convince Carnival they are really a no-show when they were just on the ship earlier that day for the first leg of the B2B?
  7. Eventually this thread will recommend every game in the casino. I vote blackjack. Generally the house edge if you play well is only on the order of 2-5%, so you won’t lose much over the long term. The biggest mistake people make is trying to gamble with a low limit like $50 or something. You lose 3 or 4 hands in a row, which will happen, and you’re broke. Whereas if you are playing with a $250 bankroll you can weather a few losses in a row.
  8. You are not required or expected to attend the event if it's not to your taste. I'm sure if you asked those foreign veterans they would be happy they attended even if it was focused on Carnival's target audience.
  9. The bartenders certainly don't want service to be slow. They have a lot of work to do and don't have time to pile guest complaints on top of their workload. But Carnival has been cutting staffing to the bone so expect more of this around the ship.
  10. Both of these are new to me, never heard of Cameron Chavis before nor never seen a CD wear a hat before. I can't say whether or not Carnival has an expectation for their cruise directors during the military appreciation event. Personally if I was the cruise director's boss, I'd expect him/her to be respectful during the event or I'd expect him/her hand the event off to someone else.
  11. I’ve never seen a cruise director wearing a hat, except during things like the mega deck party.
  12. When is the cruise? If not past final payment you might be able to change your booking.
  13. It's the same thing, you can't keep things out there. Can't even leave your towel out there to air dry.
  14. You cannot leave anything on your balcony at all, too many things blow overboard.
  15. Next time you have to film the fight and post it on YouTube. They'll still deny it, but at least they'll look even more foolish for doing so.
  16. Considering Carnival is the line that has been in the news the most over the past year or so for fights on their ships, one so bad the Coast Guard had to escort the ship into port, it's entirely believable.
  17. It’s on Carnival as much as it is the guests. If they can’t enforce their rules they have no business having the rules.
  18. It seems that Carnival is so concerned that the fighters or the marijuana smokers or the booze smugglers or whoever are going to get their feelings hurt, they allow them to degrade the experience for everyone else.
  19. I will try it next cruise. I can’t stomach pretty much any of carnivals frozen cocktails, they all taste like cheap popsicles.
  20. How is it made, do they just use a different syrup mix or is it made fresh to order?
  21. In the cruises I've been on since restart there haven't been many guests in the hallways, platinum/diamond/suite or otherwise. So I don't think the "cheaters" are going to be why the perk goes away for good. It is simply because Carnival is morphing into the Spirit Airlines of the Seas.
  22. I know when I booked a Disney+ special cruise for last month (I booked it in July), it was specifically mentioned to me at least twice that the sale was final and unless I tested positive for COVID there would be no refunds, no price adjustments, no nothing. You should read the specifics of any discounts you are interested in using to see their stipulations. It worked out great for me. I ended up cruising on Disney for what I consider to be a bargain, after having experienced it.
  23. That was correct in the past but Carnival has cut housekeeping services to the bone so it is no longer possible for them to guarantee that anybody's rooms are ready at boarding anymore, I don't even think they're guaranteeing suites have their rooms ready anymore. Certainly no more guaranteed rooms for plat/dia.
  24. The perk has already been greatly diluted from what it used to be so obviously they plan to get rid of it altogether eventually. A metaphor for Carnival in itself. The problem is how can they sell FTTF if the only perk you really get is an earlier tender ticket?
