  1. I don’t know how streaming services work with the captive portals on the ship. But in any event you’re in for a great deal of frustration getting carnivals Wi-Fi to do anything more than refresh a Facebook feed.
  2. Idk about the horizon but on other ships it’s just a matter of using the buttons on the back of the tv to switch input. However the tv is so small it’s really not worth doing.
  3. They need to call Carnival and/or the travel insurance carrier directly. They'll have to call anyway to file a claim so why not call them now?
  4. She doesn't have all the upgrades like the newest dining options or what have you. But what she has I was satisfied with on my cruise over Thanksgiving last year. The MDR left me wanting but pretty much everything else was par for the course for Carnival.
  5. The Excel class is different - but to me, not different enough to pay more than an overall elevated experience on Princess. Mind you I say that as someone who has not sailed an Excel class ship yet so take it for what it's worth...
  6. varies by ship and itinerary but generally they have Ciroc, Hennessey Pure White, Johnnie Walker, and a few others I can't recall off-hand. One cruise I was on earlier this year they had a 2-pack of Jack Daniels fifths for $35 or $40 I believe. But the next cruise I was on, didn't see it.
  7. It sounds like it's worth it to you to pay more for the Carnival tour for this peace of mind so you should do it! Each to their own.
  8. Thanks, Carnival has too many pages with similar information but slightly different.
  9. I like both equally but for different reasons. Neither is better than the other.
  10. If it is indeed the same tour, you'll be on the tour with Carnival guests so you'll be waited for anyway would you not?
  11. Assuming similar itinerary etc, I'm not sure I'd pay more for a Carnival cruise on any ship. Each to their own.
  12. You will be put in the standby line and may be able to get in earlier than your arrival time, but likely not. They won't turn you away and make you come back later.
  13. I agree but this is how Carnival gets out of a lot of price matches. Another example is they’ll have tour guides offer their Carnival tours “with lunch” (which could just be a ham sandwich and a bottle of water) and the standalone tour doesn’t. Price match denied.
  14. For example buying a day pass for Atlantis directly may be cheaper than an Atlantis excursion through Carnival because Carnival’s Atlantis excursion includes a bus ride from the Nassau cruise pier over to Paradise island. Those are not the same product so Carnival would be justified in declining that price match.
  15. Where are you getting that from, on Carnival’s FAQ page that section about non-alcoholic beverages is gone. https://www.carnival.com/help?topicid=2633 And the other part of the policy that talks about non-alcoholic beverages specifically says “on embarkation day”
  16. Yes, Carnival clearly explains this during the check-in process when you set up your S&S account.
  17. What I would recommend you do is when you do online check-in, fund your S&S account with a credit card. Then at some point during the cruise, go up to the S&S Kiosk or guest services and feed in your gift cards as necessary to satisfy your balance. That saves the worry of what will happen to any overage funds, or needing to worry about funding your account on the first day, etc.
  18. I can send you an email that at first glance will look like it comes from President Biden. And only people who actually know what to look for would know it's not legitimate. AGAIN - do not click links or call numbers from emails you suspect to be a fraud. If you get an email that might be from Carnival but might not, don't call that number but instead call your PVP/TA or Carnival's 1-800 number.
  19. It’s cheaper to buy a tuxedo than it is to rent it for an entire cruise.
  20. They used to when they had a Formalities shop onboard. That was replaced with “Cherries on Top”. No more tuxedo rentals onboard. When I needed a tuxedo I bought one from a rental shop. After they’ve been rented so many times they sell them off (still good enough to wear a few more times and cheaper than renting).
  21. Responding to a scam in any way is a bad idea. Never call the number or click on any links.
  22. The food waste hasn't gone anywhere, it's just shifted to venues that cost Carnival less. The buffet is filled with cheap foods like rice, whereas in the MDR people waste lobster and shrimp.
  23. I imagine there is a flat rate between Port of Miami and FLL as well.
