  1. Did you tell the steward you wanted them to count as your free bottle?
  2. I have stayed on deck 1 on Sunshine but not Freedom. My room on deck 1 on Sunshine was far aft, actually one of the last rooms on the floor.
  3. I should also mention as you are closer to the engines you may feel more vibration on deck 1. But you shouldn't feel as much motion from the ocean.
  4. You might hear a little bit of the crew beneath you, and during docking you might hear the thrusters and ropes. But generally deck 1 is a good floor in my opinion.
  5. Every time I've done a guarantee room, my room is assigned shortly before online check-in starts.
  6. Tourists get robbed every day, unless there are injuries or really valuable goods stolen I wouldn't expect a big news story frankly.
  7. To me it just makes someone even more of a target.
  8. I see cruisers every cruise walking around the port area and excursion stops with their S&S card still around their necks like they're walking around on Lido. Keeping the good stuff in the safe and not drawing attention to yourself can help minimize the loss, but if bad guys are tracking an excursion group then there's only so much you can do sadly.
  9. I doubt they sell many of those virgin frozen drinks to drinking-age adults. I'm sure they sell some but not many.
  10. So far removed from Carnival, they sell tickets to it directly on their website... How many times do people here champion the benefits of booking excursions through Carnival? Now that somebody reports an issue however, the tour is so far removed from Carnival it might as well be in a different galaxy! Incredible
  11. My wife has two middle names and I am not sure what name appears in her Carnival.com profile under her VIFP#. I suspect it doesn't really matter. But when I do online check in, I make sure to enter her name properly. That is the most critical place to make sure the name is correct and matches your travel documents.
  12. They just put a one shot floater in most of those frozen drinks, so it's not like they're more "worth it" when the alcohol is added...personally to me they're all disgusting but Carnival sells a ton of them. Every bar you hear those blenders going basically nonstop from open to last call.
  13. All documents need to match or there needs to be documentation as to why they do not (for example if your name has changed and that is why the name on your birth certificate isn't the same). So assuming the people at the pier do their job, yes she will have a problem.
  14. The menus have changed somewhat (they won't give you a whole baked potato anymore most nights for one thing), but the dishes that are the same are - near as I can tell - the same as before, at least in the MDR. I notice the shrimp in the shrimp cocktail and the cut of prime rib might be a little smaller, but you can always order more than one if you want more.
  15. Yes, the funfetti cheesecake is delicious - my favorite dessert of the entire cruise, actually.
  16. I hit up the Lido buffet and get lunch...nothing exciting, I know
  17. At this point, id be glad if people followed that at Walmart. Let alone on vacation.
  18. Verizon isn't going to be an option on the ship itself. You'd want Carnival's wifi for that. Verizon roaming plan would be an option when in port though.
  19. Going to Cayman for the first time in October. Does the ship use its own tender boats or do they have big tender boats on the island like at Princess Cays?
  20. You can still go up to the restaurant stand and check-in, but you are encouraged to use the Hub app and it is much more convenient anyway.
  21. The difference is Gold Peak the brand is actually owned by Coca-Cola, and Pure Leaf is owned by Pepsico. My guess is these bottled drinks didn't sell as fast as the canned ones, and some guests certainly hoarded them. So Carnival just stopped ordering them. They have limited refrigeration space behind the bars so they have to be selective about what they stock.
  22. There really is no rhyme or reason. There are people who might only put $20 in the Casino every other cruise getting great casino rates right now for example. The key is Carnival and the other lines are discounting as necessary to fill their ships, hoping that guests will spend more onboard.
  23. True, it doesn't really matter unless Carnival begins allowing exceptions en masse and makes it known to their crew and guests. I'm sure they'd sell more Cheers packages if they allowed individual purchase, but they'd probably hand out more drinks too so it's not worth it for them. I'm sure they've done the analysis.
  24. The only thing Platinums can do is drop things off, which the stewards take care of anyway on B2Bs. I guess like you said you could drop your billfold in the safe but that's about it. Platinum rooms are not ready any earlier than any other rooms. Only Suites get priority nowadays.
