  1. Pretty sure it's different buns and definitely different fries. The burgers themselves seem to be the same to me. The toppings, other than the ones that are now gone, are the same. I don't mind the chili that has replaced the mushrooms and bacon on the toppings bar but wish it didn't come at the expense of the other two.
  2. Cecil down the street from me can have that bondo'ed and painted in an afternoon for maybe $100.
  3. Mushrooms are gone fleetwide and have been for at least a year.
  4. Except for the lemonade and juice cocktail anyway. I'm pretty sure iced tea and coffee have zero (or negligible) calories. And of course water has none.
  5. Talk about a buzzkill! All the more reason to zero calorie mixers 😝
  6. When I get comped drinks, I drink Jack and Diet Pepsi. Zero calories 🙂 When I pay for drinks, I drink iced tea and splenda. Zero calories 🙂 I prefer to eat my calories. Each to their own!
  7. All VIFP rate codes in the terms say the person who got the offer must sail to get the price. As often as we get no show questions on here, if Carnival suddenly decided to start refaring no shows we would know very quickly.
  8. Right it's all academic. They could make those who did check in leave the ship before sailaway unless they pay a higher fare, but it has never happened and probably won't.
  9. The price today and what it will be when you sail will be totally different - Carnival has been hiking the price every few months lately. I think Value is $20 for 24 hours, Premium is $35. Lots of ports have free wifi these days, more and more every cruise it seems. The Social plan can only be purchased for the length of the cruise.
  10. Cheers is really an alcohol package. It is really tough to make the math work for non-drinkers or light drinkers. Generally when people ask to only buy one Cheers package, it's not because half of the couple doesn't drink - it's that they both want to share 15 drinks a day and save half of their money. I don't blame folks for wanting to save money, but that is exactly why Carnival doesn't allow this type of thing - they want all the revenue.
  11. Here is the fun times for a recent Celebration sailing, you can see the open times for food on the first day's fun times. https://www.saintgregtravel.com/carnival-celebration-january-14-2024/
  12. The terms of all of these VIFP deals state the person who got the offer must sail. So Carnival could refare the room if you don't end up sailing. Has that ever happened? Not that I'm aware of.
  13. The cruise groups I've been a member of in the past few years have been overrun by spammers and scammers - and the folks who run the groups don't seem interested in doing anything about it (maybe they're in cahoots...). I don't even bother with them anymore.
  14. Really poor advice to gamble expecting comps. Carnival has no published schedule of comps.
  15. I don't even bring my laptop on cruises so if a job asked me to interview while I was on a cruise, I wouldn't know and they'd miss out on a great candidate because of their lack of planning.
  16. It is possible that at any time Carnival will stop allowing folks to deposit a lot of money into their slot bank, spin once or twice, and then go to the cashier and ask for a cash out. It's fairly obvious what's going on when they see that pattern of behavior so it would be easy to put an end to it. But to this point it doesn't seem like they care that much.
  17. I've only been seated at a 2-top for brunch or breakfast perhaps once or twice in all my cruises. Granted we usually do breakfast or brunch at the buffet, so not a huge sample size. But every time we eat in the MDR, or nearly every time, we are seated at a large table along with other small groups of folks who checked in at around the same time.
  18. If you really want Half Moon Cay, then that settles it and I can't blame you - HMC is paradise especially if you love the beach. Mardi Gras has much more for everyone to do than Vista though, and Grand Turk has a beautiful beach as well.
  19. It is, and the propellant used with shaving cream is often butane. My guess is Carnival knows they can't run a hotel and not allow folks to bring their hairspray or shaving cream. But they can ban things they guests shouldn't need like lysol spray. Cuts down on some of the fire risk at least.
  20. If you go to the MDR for breakfast or brunch you will be seated at a shared table, they typically don't do individual tables for breakfast or brunch. I'm sure you can request an individual table but I don't know if they can accommodate it.
  21. They don't do lessons. If your state allows it, you can play online for free at stake.us. Yes smoking is allowed at certain tables or slots while actively playing. The casino is not a smoking lounge - you're only allowed to smoke when playing.
  22. https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4090/~/carnival-cruise-line-prohibited-items%2C-exemptions-and-other-considerations the only aerosols that are allowed are personal grooming products - my guess is that would include shaving cream, hairspray, deodorant, etc. Not Lysol.
  23. What can I say I try to call it like I see it 😉
  24. It is becoming more common, and it is good to see that they're taking it more seriously. I hope that one day soon smoking will only be allowed outdoors or in very well ventilated (and preferably separate areas like you're talking about), but I also firmly believe that the last place in the world where indoor smoking will be allowed is in Carnival casinos.
  25. I rarely drink and have fun on Carnival. What gets me more on Carnival here lately is the cigarette smoke from the casino. It's really bad on a lot of ships and fills up most of the promenade deck.
