  1. I’ve been on 39 Carnival cruises and had no idea the nightclubs were still open at 5:20 am! Add alcohol and that’s asking for trouble, Carnival or any cruise line!
  2. We sailed on Liberty June 3rd out of Mardi Gras terminal. Our arrival time was 12-12:30. The way the terminal is set up, there was a line to get in to unload and park. Didn’t take very long to unload. Parking garage was full up to deck 4 from those out on Mardi Gras. Once we got in to the actual terminal, it went very quickly and we were on board around 12:40 or so. First time from this terminal.
  3. I guess I did! I thought they were talking about smoking in the dining room, not the casino. I do go back to that post about the smoking in the casino. I actually made a comment about my recent experience on Liberty.
  4. Same here, I got it on our January cruise! Wouldn’t have even known I had it if we weren’t going on another one the following week after we returned! Got off the ship on Sunday, went about all the usual doctors appts, grocery store, things like that all week. Went for testing on Saturday before Monday cruise and tested positive! Was totally shocked, no symptoms!
  5. While smoking is still allowed in the casino, you must be actively playing. No more of the sitting in the casino just to smoke, thank goodness! I’ve noticed my last couple of cruises there seems to be more non smoking machines. Was on Liberty early June and there were a lot of non smoking machines, most separated by the walkway thru the casino. Hardly noticed any smoke smell either so their filtration system has improved.
  6. There is no smoking in any of the dining rooms. Hasn’t been for years.
  7. It only applies to you and a companion if that’s what the offer states. Sorry, can’t be more specific.
  8. You are “supposed” to do the muster drill first before you take off for lido for lunch, etc. There’s no assigned time. Just go to your station, watch a short demo of how to use your life jacket, have your sail and sign card scanned (or boarding pass if you haven’t gotten your card yet) and that’s pretty much it. So much easier! It’s recommended to watch the safety video on your cabin tv as well. Keep in mind, if everyone doesn’t do muster, the ship won’t sail until all done, or if you try to buy a drink after a certain time, you can’t until you’ve done muster. Works very well.
  9. This is the reason we always choose the 12-12:30 check in time! Most of the time the early arrivals have already boarded and we just go thru the checkin and security and right on to the ship. I see no sense in arriving at 10:00 to sit and wait to get on board! All in our group are Diamond, and we’re getting on as fast if not faster than precovid.
  10. The shampoo and body wash are fine with me. I personally don’t need to bring all the extra shampoos and soaps for just a few days. The shampoo/conditioner does just fine for detangling my hair. However, if you have really long hair then it may not be for you. If you do bring your own, just put it in a smaller container so it doesn’t take up much room.
  11. lol, you are so right! Was about 4 cruises away from Diamond before Covid, so when things started back, the deals were so good we finally had enough to make Diamond in January this year! I was so excited to finally make it! My first time showing my card, I think I expected bells and whistles to go off, or either someone say, oh you’re Diamond! Guess what, nothing happened and no one cared except me! Maybe one day it will be like it was precovid, but doubt it. Still love carnival and am glad to be Diamond.
  12. It’s for whatever you spend money on. It’s a credit on your account, so things are subtracted in the order they’re purchased. If you get a drink when you go on first thing, it’s applied to the credit and so on. I believe you can use your credit to purchase some things precruise. The credit would be applied at checkout. Hope this helps.
  13. Never ordered food from the app, but use it for everything else on board, no problems. Guess I never looked to see if you can order room service!
  14. Just off Liberty Monday, we were on deck 8 and our friends were on deck 7. Didn’t notice any smell. Even the casino didn’t smell bad!
  15. They need to update the hub. Checkin is only allowed 16 days prior for platinum/Diamond, and 14 days for all others.
  16. I usually wear a pair of black dress pants and a sparkly blouse of some kind with nice sandals. DH wears a pullover collared shirt and black or blue Dockers style long pants. On regular nights we just wear whatever we wore for the day, ie nice shorts and top/shirt. Just off Liberty Monday, saw a lady dressed in her capris and hoodie on elegant night! Guess whatever you want to wear is up to you.
  17. If you like balcony rooms be aware there are no sofas or chairs in these rooms, only the stool under the desk. We’re too old to sit on the bed! Had to bring a chair in from the balcony. Other than that, it was ok.
  18. We also got off Liberty this morning! Kudos to the Captain for getting us thru the stormy weather! Wasn’t bad at all. Liberty is still a nice ship. Only had salad from the buffet at lunch, deli wasn’t open on Friday at lunch, but was on Sunday around noon when we went to lunch. Had a Guys burger, it was ok, but not as good as they were prepandemic, and the fries definitely weren’t the same. Had 6 pm dining in Silver Olympian deck 4. Have to say our wait staff was the best we’ve had in a long time, actually had 3 servers, almost like old times! Food was good, portions have been cut down, but still plenty. Our balcony cabin was in good shape, as well as the balcony. Cabin steward was so busy! Definitely still short staffed! We didn’t do any shows, been there done that. The casino was nice, had lots of non smoking machines and it wasn’t smoky at all to us. Our only complaint was the number of passengers, must be back to fun. We definitely won’t be doing a three day again! Very loud and some rude people. Just a different clientele than longer cruises. Liberty used the new Mardi Gras terminal which was nice. Embark and debark went smooth. They still need to do something about getting an elevator down to the lobby! Must have waited on at least 10 before we got one. All in all, Liberty still is a good ship, this was probably our 7th time on her.
  19. Just back from our 3 day on Liberty. There were no Room Service hangers in the room. Saturday I was up at 6:13, called room service for coffee and muffins, it was there in 10 minutes. Same thing Sunday but just a little later. I was satisfied with that. This morning, got up at 5, got dressed and went up to lido to get coffee. Either way was ok, but I still like the card way better.
  20. Not that I know of. I doubt they have the ability to schedule like that. I’m just aggravated about it. Now I’ll have to get dressed and run up to lido and get my coffee, I can go get it myself faster than they can bring it. I’ll give it a try this weekend tho and see how long it takes if I call at 6 am.
  21. I’m just bummed that you can no longer put your room service card outside your door for your morning coffee and danish, have to call for it now! At least thru the end of June according to John Heald. Being early risers we enjoyed having coffee/danish delivered between 6 and 6:30 and enjoy sitting on the balcony watching the world go by!
  22. Atomic Cruiser, you will definitely see a revolt if the free laundry is stopped! I think more people write about the laundry benefit than anything!
  23. I’m a Malibu and Diet Coke person, but don’t drink much anymore. I still order Malibu and Diet Coke, lol, and then say oh never mind, Pepsi. Once the Malibu is in it, it’s ok. Of course if you’re a real connesuer (sp) you can tell the difference, but it doesn’t bother me.
  24. Don’t forget to add No table cloths in the dining room.
