Everyone seems to be missing the point which is can I check my carry on, not do I get luggage tags in the mail.
OP Your carry on bag should have any medicines and electronics that you are bringing on board and wise people keep it with them, they do not check those bags with the porters.
There will not be a new crew. There may be some changes, these happen weekly, but the bulk of the crew will be the same people that were there before the ship started dry dock.
I amazed at the effort people go to with these bags. I have never had one rip or tear and have never had trouble getting what I need in the bag. The people with the problems must change clothes twice a day and never wear anything twice.
You might reconsider your plan, not because the passes will sell out (some are usually available on board) but because the thermal suite is not going to be a fun place for older teens.
Much prefer a soft side duffle style with two wheels, and a bright color. It has plenty of room for clothes and my snorkel gear which eliminates the need for a dive bag. Can’t do that with a hard side bag, and I never go over the airline weight limit.

I would move, it is likely to be loud until at least 11 at night, and there can be rehearsals at anytime including during the night depending on the cast’s schedule
Why? Except for about 6 hours you are in the US. Don’t need it to fly home in an emergency or for any other reason.. (note this is specific to closed loop cruises out of Seattle).
