  1. Where were your complaints last year when viking's guarantee that PV etc. cabins got priority booking on excursions when instead it was an unannounced free for all that many of us PV folks were unaware and were shut out? Bleep happens.
  2. Over on The Site Not To Be Mentioned the site manager is documenting his Orion Alaska cruise with a dozen or so photos a day. I'll watch to see if any news comes up.
  3. With the rate of murders there, somewhat concerned about visiting.
  4. Probability close to 1 that an Ocean cruise will miss at least one port
  5. I'm confused by this. Viking does "let" customers book with credit card. Yes their 3%+ cash discount yields the absolute cheapest fare but my 3% credit card lets me get all the card's associated perks and I am free to do so. The difference in $ is insignificant in a 5 figure purchase.
  6. I for one would hate to see Viking remove fresh bananas from the breakfast menu, but in the interest of guest safety...
  7. Maybe it's me but in Iceland and Malta cruises in 2021 and in my just completed Eastern Danube river cruise I was never asked for my covid test results. Good thing because never received in time for the Malta cruise. So glad that the stress of being CANCELLED is now removed, making cruise anticipation fun again and removing the daily stress over daily onboard testing.
  8. Just returned to USA yesterday from Romania thru Germany. Was never asked for max card or for test results.
  9. Not adding extensions but twice I've had full extensions open up with cancellations so I could book them. Unfortunately with Viking's dropping the stress inducing daily testing I expect cancellations to drop.

    LUGGAGE

Good news. Wife's massive amount tof luggage did not fill the stateroom or sink the ship!
  11. Wife often got headaches in US from wine but oddly enough not on Viking cruises.
  12. Suggest Viking should let those of us who test + stay aboard under the condition that we wear white N95 masks that have UNCLEAN! on them in red letters & sit at an isolated dinner table with the same label. No?
  13. Wonders takes you to the offsite museum. Not fantastic but worth seeing. If not interested, take Ancient tour. Plenty of opportunities for cat photos. Sadly St Paul failed to realized that the city's denizens could not read his Letters to the Ephesians.
  14. Did a Viking chat FWIW about my late summer cruise. Said that they were back to the cabin priority system & that bookings open at noon PT on the date cited in your documents.
  15. I've read elsewhere from guests that unless it is a COUNTRY requirement, Viking will simply test you upon arrival and restrict you to your room for X hours if test results late arriving.
  16. Took the Anchorage to Seward RR with Silversea, a fabulous train ride. Don't miss it if possible.
  17. Viking Iceland July 2021... https://www.flickr.com/photos/seacoast_nh/albums/72157719549944999
  18. Silversea is a good alternative and goes to those places in very nice small ships. Younger crowd. Bigger bathrooms. Downside is jacket for men at dinner (not too bad) and formal nights (ugh!). Also Viking room stewards > Silversea butlers.
