For me this is a new phenomena on Viking. Our last cruise Aug-Sept had all the outfacing chairs with stuff on them as we went to breakfast on sea days. Similar reserved seating bad behavior upstairs in Explorer lounge. Loud large groups taking reserving all chairs, no not Steve's folks from MyFace. 🙂 Never noticed on 3 pre-Covid cruises. Guest behavior has changed.

I posted a very acerbic complaint about Viking home office booking in that group a couple years ago and had no problems. Since then I've read many other threads posted that were critical, and several quite unreasonably so in my opinion. The blanket statement that criticism is forbidden there is inaccurate. Threads can get closed to further comments if people keep attacking each other just like here on CC.

Also excursions change over time (as expected) but Viking website descriptions fail to keep up. Oslo: "You will also visit the Viking Ship Museum, featuring the best-preserved Viking ships in the world along with many artifacts that were in use more than 1,200 years ago." Closed for upgrades. Known for ages. Budapest: "Cross Chain Bridge to Buda, where you walk along Castle Hill to Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias " Numerous references to Chain bridge closed for years for repairs. The list is long.

Not Bergen or London but in St Petersburg Russia my wife returned very late from a private ballet tour and was welcomed back onto the ship. Should be no problem. The funny part was that her driver took her to a Viking RIVER ship and she had to explain that she was on the OCEAN ship.

Need to post time limits on use of gym empt, especially the ellipticals. Encounter folks monopolizing the machines for over an hour. Not good.

Don't know how to solve it but our last Viking cruise (river) there was one woman who was on every one of our tours who held up the bus every time getting on and off even with passenger & driver assistance and delayed each tour causing rushed stops. Finally the tour director requested that she not accompany the group on various challenging stops and instead wait with her friends at certain points. People have to be aware that if they really cannot climb stairs or walk on cobblestones tours other than panoramic may not be for them.

Of course they do as well. Same people, same service meeting you & transporting you to the ship.

Menu seems to be the same every night at Manfreidis but changes every 3-4 days at Chef's Table. People either love or hate the Table menus. Besides the World Cafe, dining adjacent at the pool area can be fun. Pop up surprise buffets get held there some evenings.

Not an excursion to my knowledge, but the Naples Museum is world class. Visited it ourselves on a land tour. One section shows how Pompeii, etc. looked in real life, nothing like today, all vibrant colors on the columns and walls. Mind blowing visuals to my barbarian ancestors entering any such Roman city and unanticipatedly impressive to this 21st century visitor.

Herculaneum is on my target list for Naples.

This is now. Back to the prior years of Viking operation. Once again, my point was that we did 2 ocean cruises where this was disregarded with surprise mass bookings of excursions.

Not the case. Reservations opened at a random date & time with no notice to me.
