We sailed on the Escape in 2015 during Christmas and New Years week and there were roughly 2000 kids on board. We were able to escape to the Vibe, but the rest of the ship was crazy.

Exactly--I get it. Sometimes I feel some comments make it seem like if you cannot stay in a Haven cabin, you will not have a great vacation. Or, my personal favorite, once you stay in Haven, you cannot go back. We went back and had a better time. To each their own.

I find it interesting too and will submit today four requests going out through June 2024.

No because they are not offered in the Haven or in any included restaurants.

Oh, it is more than a few!

As a positive response, for our upcoming March Epic cruise, I contacted pre-cruise concierge, and they booked two specialty restaurants for our group of 14. I think it took around three days from my e-mail to the actual bookings.

Based on their positive reviews, we booked Gone Caribe for our March trip.

Thank you. As we booked a private tour (there will be, I think, 14 of us), we can change the tour up a little.

When we were in the Vibe on the Joy this past September, on the last full day my husband asked one of the bartenders about the tip situation. He was told that they did pool the tips and my husband left what we thought was a very generous tip when we left the final time. Later that night while at the Cavern Club, one of the other bartenders that worked in the Vibe was working the bar there. When he saw us, he came around the bar, walked over to us and thanked us for the generous tip we left the Vibe crew. He even hugged me. Since he was not in the Vibe that last afternoon, it was proof to us that they did pool their tips.

I wait until two months out as I feel that if I send it in too soon they might not process it as I could sell off in the many months between sending it in and the sail date. Would be interested in hearing the responses to your question.

Great to hear. We booked Cosol Tours for a private tour just for our group in March. Can you tell us what you did on your tour with them as we have to decide what to include.

Sorry to read about your two missed ports. Where did you read that they are replacing Priscilla with Six and do you know when it will start?

Yes, we are sailing on the Jewel August 28, 2023, but are not doing the land tour. We are flying into Anchorage two days before and then taking the early morning train to the port on the 28th.

I really enjoyed her review too and actually all of her input regarding Alaska cruises. We too finally got off of the fence and, I believe, booked the same sailing you will be on.

For us, we do not feel this way at all. We sailed in a Haven on the Joy in February and then again in a non-Haven suite in September. The only thing we missed was the Haven restaurant. Going forward, we have four cruises booked and as of now, only one of them will be in a Haven cabin.
