  1. Completely agree with @Dermotsgirl. I've sailed in D174 and loved it. Large window with lots of light into the cabin. Slopes outwards bottom to top. Superb location.
  2. The cheaper launch prices scheme was, imho, fine when itineraries were released 12 to 18 months ahead. Recently P&O have been launching 2+ years ahead which for many is too far away. It's all very well for them to say this but at the end of the day if they have a lot of empty berths to fill late on, they will drop prices.
  3. I'd probably have walked out halfway through it though... ๐Ÿ˜‚
  4. After the poor reviews of the Cats film, I've never watched it. Saw the stage show before it closed in London and was underwhelmed...
  5. Glad to hear that P&O has recognised you as Queen Clodia... ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‚
  6. It was a very popular film - but not with me ๐Ÿ˜‚. For some reason popular films often don't work for me. Almost everyone loved The Greatest Showman but I hated it. Fortunately I watched it on tv so was just able to turn it off halfway through...
  7. I'm surprised that an experienced hairdresser would let anyone loose on their hair without knowing something about the salon and staff...
  8. Didn't like that one at all. I'm not a fan of Baz Luhrmann's ofttimes ott style...
  9. When I did the Nile Cruise, we were met by a tour rep at Cairo Airport who took us to a desk to get the Visa sorted... Utter chaos ๐Ÿ˜‚
  10. Did my stint at the museum yesterday morning and then managed to get round a few outside errands before the rain moved in. Lots of it but not torrential fortunately. Was a very dreary start earlier this morning but a bit brighter now. Light rain in the air and not too windy. Got some admin to sort and will then try to get a swim & steam in this afternoon.
  11. On a Baltic cruise I got the train from Travemunde into Lubeck and went to their shop and cafรฉ. The famous Marzipan Torte was fabulous ๐Ÿ˜‹
  12. I've seen a lot worse and thought it was an okay diversion for a couple of hours. Certainly couldn't understand why it was being talked about for lots of awards...
  13. I'm sure it's lovely but no-one makes a better bread and butter pudding than the ones my mum used to make...๐Ÿ˜Š
  14. The USA position on Cuba has been very fluid, so it is quite possible it may change again...
  15. I only eat Hot Cross Buns in the month that includes Easter... and I'm not even a person of Faith!
  16. My guess is they are hoping that many new pax who have done the 7 night Norway itinerary on Iona will try a 7 night Canaries on Azura...
  17. Glad you have got what you wanted Barbara.
  18. Yes, it's a great venue for both films and classical recitals.
  19. The other thing that annoys me in restaurants is when they describe a dish as being accompanied by chips and it turns up with french fries. To me, French fries are a waste of time. I want nice, chunky chips with (battered) fish or steak.
  20. Apart from the last two of the left-hand selection, I could eat any of them but as a collection of main courses to me they are just dull...
  21. I was pleasantly surprised with my cruise on Aurora in August and thought that a number of things that had disappeared post-Covid had been reintroduced. You will notice a difference around food but how much you enjoy it will depend upon your personal tastes. There is a fair amount of choice on the mdr menus but sometimes almost half the choices are now vegetarian or vegan. I'm not someone who has to eat meat, fowl or fish at every meal but the dishes on offer didn't really work for me. My other bugbear with the food is that the vast majority of desserts are pretty tasteless. The other main area that you may notice is that there is not an evening turndown service any more. There is still tea & coffee in the cabins and it seems that the upmarket rich-tea biscuits will be replaced on request only. I've been cruising with P&O since 1997 and so have seen a lot of change. I would happily rebook for a short cruise (i.e. around two weeks) but for me cruising with P&O (and other lines of a similar standard) has lost its 'sparkle' so wouldn't be tempted for a long itinerary.
