  1. Hi Im glad you had a great cruise Sherri and sorry to hear covid struck the cruise and your husband. When we cruised in May ,we were one of the few who wore masks most of the time as we have not had covid yet and we were lucky.I dont know if there were any cases on board but I am guessing there probably were.I am like you, I so wanted to go but it wasn't nearly as social ,next year hopefully will be better . The hurricane over on you Eastern Coast looked terrible and so much damage ,so sad for everyone. Sharron enjoy your granddaughters visit .It sure is a busy age I can vouch for that as ours lives with us at the moment with his parents but so much fun. We are off to the lake today for three nights tonight.I am supposed to have my next chemo on Monday but if my white blood count stays low I have to delay a week ,so blood test time this morning after my walk. Take care everyone
  2. Thanks for the posts . Your last post brings back memories of Portoferraio , we also loved it there. As we sailed out ,about fifty boats with families were by our side and waving.
  3. Thanks for congratulations on expected grandchild number two ,they sure are fun. My daughter, husband and 18 month grandson live with us at present ,its fun and keeps my mind off things. The treatment is going well but my legs are very sore for some reason. Fiona was on our news last night ,scary stuff! Kat you sound like me, always planning a future holiday . Off for my morning walk soon. Happy healthy days to everyone and I hope the scan goes well Melody
  4. Happy cruising Sherri ! Spring is in the air over here and daylight saving starts this weekend . We have just also found out number 2 grandchild is to be expected early next year . My treatment is going well ,although have felt a bit rough the last few days. Off for a walk in my Lululemon and a new Adidas cap. Happy days everyone !
  5. Sorry to see you leave again Jeff.I was enjoying your food knowledge and am intending to try to source the ingredients for your pizza dough. I don't post very often but do enjoy all the posts here from far and wide. PS In New Zealand as many think we don't just drink instant coffee ,I never do. We love a good flat white ,haha
  6. Hi Everyone The red dress is lovely ,I usually wear black but think I should wear more colour. I managed to spend my $250 amazon voucher yesterday. I got a toy for our grandson for Christmas ,some Dame lash and eyebrow serum and some Clinique moisture surge spray . I have started following a lovely lady from USA with the same illness on Instagram and she recommended the dame serums so hopefully the will work. She is very inspirational ,exactly the same age as me ,57 and an ex Miss USA . Better go put my Lululemon on and go for a big walk after a blood test, then eyebrow tint and then a facial which is a gift from my Mum ,luxury! Have a good weekend all πŸ™‚ Good to see you are all getting boosted and shingles vaccinated ,I will next year after this is over.
  7. Hi We have returned to the lake for a few days before my next treatment , last of the radiation πŸ™‚ I was also thinking of getting the shingles vaccine but am unable to at the moment. Went for a lovely walk this morning and got a bag of tangelos , so juiced them when we got back . I heard on the radio this morning that Disney Cruise line are coming to New Zealand this Summer , thats a first for them here .
  8. Hi Frantic, I hope you arrived back to Perth safely and are planning your next holiday . Hoping to start planning a Med cries for next October soon πŸ™‚
  9. Hi everyone, I am just off to work at a home store .I am working this weekend to help out as I have not been to work after my surgery but am feeling a lot better. It was great to be back yesterday for 5 hours, my radiation went well ,just a little tired. My Amazon voucher is sitting there waiting to be spent,I see they have Sweaty Betty . It sounds like you're all bust with renovations, travelling ,getting boosters and watching Ironman! I have a dress on today and makeup! My dress is from my favourite New Zealand designer Juliette Hogan
  10. It’s a beautiful day here today so I will go for a big walk, there are very few people here as it is more of a summer holiday destination which is nice and quiet. We leave tomorrow to return to the hospital for treatment two of three, then the dreaded next treatment will begin. I received my Amazon gift card so It wasn’t a scam , the questions seemed relevant to cruising and I would like to think I would see a scam but they seem to be very clever these days. I love reading recommendations for Italy ,hopefully we will cruise next year and add Italy on. Enjoy the heat ,we are looking forward to Summer here .
  11. Hi Sharon the survey went well although I gave not received my promised amazon card , I hope it wasnt a scam but there was nothing personal asked .Funny we called our dog Mr T . We are away at our home by a lake at the moment relaxing , I am anyway , resting after my first radiation .My husband is doing jobs eg painting. Its very cold and although Spring there was snow in the distant mountain this morning . Ive just been for a big walk in my Lululemon yet again . I do like the little linen dress on this post and Im only 5.3 so it could be good .
  12. Hi I will have a look at Athletica and Sweety Betty today .I dont think we have those in NZ but I can buy online and get them delivered to my husbands hotel , thanks
  13. Thanks for the welcome Sherri, mr toberlone was my mini schnauzer who died a few years ago 😞 they are such great dogs. Im wearing Lululemon again today as meeting my sister in law for a walk after a blood test . My clothes choice is very casual while I am mostly home and not able to return to work at present . Never been a housewife in over 30 years of marriage. My husband is in LA at the moment so I ordered a new hoodie from the Gap to bring back for me as we don't have that brand here, he said its very hot there at the moment. Ive been invited to do a survey with a cruise line tomorrow via zoom ,will be interesting . Time to get into my Lululemon!
  14. Me again ! First day of Spring here in New Zealand! We are hoping to cruise in the Med 2023 but have booked to go skiing at Whistler in Feb ,we were there Feb 2019 before covid locked us all down. I am starting radiation treatment on Monday, then chemo as an insurance to make sure Im clear. Wishing Melody all the best ,Better to go on holiday knowing you are all good and don't want to worry so you can enjoy your time and relax. Everyone here has a love of travel ,which is why you are on cruise critic after all I am about to get into my walking gear and go for a 8km walk πŸ™‚ As usual Lululemon
  15. I highly recommend the Swedish Pancakes off the menu in the Colonnade With fresh berries and yogurt from the buffet. My daily fix !
  16. Hi Im just going to jump in and say hi, I love cruising and have done 6 ocean and 1 river cruise . We did our last cruise in May from LA to Vancouver which was great. I came home and discovered I was unwell ,so to occupy myself after an operation and bedridden I started reading cruise critic and this entire post, which kept my mind off being unwell and I was unable to concentrateon a book. Its so nice that you supported each other through covid ,mainly on outfits and now on travel as we are able to . I am on the road to recovery now and off for a walk in my gym gear ,Lululemon. I do hope Debbie is ok as she doesn't seem to post anymore. Have a great cruise Lois ,we meet you on a silvers cruise many years ago.
  17. I do hope @frantic36are still enjoying their travels and looking forward to more posts .
  18. I have been enjoying your posts as would love to be cruising the Med again and I enjoy reading other travellers cruise reports .We recently returned from Vancouver after completing our cruise on the Odyssey from Los Angeles. We traveled from New Zealand and decided to leave Europe until next year due to time limitations . We have not yet had covid and like you were very careful and managed to avoid it , although I think I became a little obsessive ! I hope you are out of your cabin soon and enjoy the rest of the cruise , I admire your positive attitude !
  19. For everyones info, we finished the cruise . The testing was performed next door to the cruise terminal and very easy,5 mins walk max. Our appt was at 9.50 and we arrived early with our suitcases ,there were no queues . We got our tests straight away ,walked up to the Hyatt for a day room ,dropped our bags and went shopping! Our results came through by email with 30 mins and we flew back to NZ that night πŸ™‚
