  1. an option to consider if you are thinking of taking the OBC perk Just give yourself a gift OBC & if you do not use all the $$ you are not "forced" to use it & will get a cash refund at the end of the cruise If you know your will spend all the OBC O Life perk then it is a wash
  2. You do not get the commission from the cruise line if you do not use a TA so it makes no difference in your bottom line You may however get some perks from the travel agency such a PPG OBC etc.. BTW we might cruise once or twice a year pre covid & do not book top suites but we DO get good service & perks from our TA We usually do cruise only occasionally we take the O air when it works for us If you choose not to use one that is your business JMO
  3. If we have a balance refundable or not we usually get a letter or call the last full day onboard so we can collect any cash owing us or spend the nonrefundable that day 😉 I usually go a few days before the end of the cruise to get a print out to see how much I need to spend LOL
  4. You may have missed the point You can pay now or pay at the end of the cruise ..it is still your $$ you are using
  5. most travel agencies do not cost you anything shop around
  6. londontoolkit.com also has some good info on transfers etc..
  7. Do you need cell service to use the camera in the phone? We take a small pocket camera (Casio) the 35 mm Minolta got too cumbersome for us Personal choice or what works best for your needs
  8. I seem to recall on the R ship they were in the Lounge different layout than on the O class ships so maybe works better
  9. On a crossing on Marina we were t inbetween 2 storm fronts ..it was a rough night No matter what ship you are on if King Neptune & Mother Nature are not happy you will not be happy either 😉
  10. In the past pre covid You can let your TA know you are interested in an upsell & if any cabins come up before sailing O will send out offers you can try to negotiate the price depending on the upsell Usually the Top suites are waitlisted so if you want one put your name on the waitlist ..you will pay the going rate at the time should you clear the waitlist
  11. Yes I think the Transatlantics it makes sense to use O air We got the PE seats on the return from LHR so it worked better than DIY we always do the math to see what works for us
  12. Yes if I was quarantined I would still ask for the FCC/Refund as you say they can say no The website is not known for keeping things updated & in different sections it can have different policies no wonder people get confused 😁
  13. It would probably be less expensive & more comfortable to book a private transfer anyway
  14. That works if the O Life perk is something you will use For us we rarely do the excursions & the drink package is not worth it for us You basically are paying yourself to have the NON refundable OBC
  15. Deviation fee is $175 PP (one time ) You must choose outbound & inbound flights at the same time If not they will charge an additional fee when you decide what you are doing
  16. air is not free but included & can be removed ...
  17. option#3 Pick your own hotel & air /transfers front & back (O hotel packages are PP) it will probably work out less expensive in the end Take the cruise only fare #4 you might have to pay a deviation fee for the inbound flights when you choose your own hotel & extra time after the cruise I would ask your TA to get all the pricing for your trip then do the math of DIY before deciding FYI The air is not really part of O Life JMO
  18. most main stream lines do not allow hard liquor to be brought on Just a bottle or 2 of wine
  19. Terri I think the new update has changed some of the terms for funds/FCC Sept 3 2022 https://www.oceaniacruises.com/sites/default/files/2022-08/Sail-Safe-new-program.pdf If I test positive for COVID-19 during a cruise and have to quarantine, will I receive a credit or refund? Guests should travel with adequate insurance coverage for costs incurred for COVID-19 relates illness and treatment.
  20. Yes I saw post #12 with the updated info THX
  21. yes deck 12 is the exception
  22. I think you misunderstood the term " technical stop" 🤔
  23. Correct Or just take your own & if you take a bottle to the dining venues pay the corkage fee of $25 per bottle
