  1. Just back from two days in Henley. Went to the festival and outdoor concert on the Thames last night (saw The Script). It was a black tie event and there were several thousand people there all dressed up to the nines. Age wise it was probably 50/50 for the over 40s and under 40s. The youngsters clearly enjoyed getting dressed up and 99% looked so smart…… So from that event last night I would say P&O would be wise not to do away with black tie nights.
  2. Oh no. So sorry to hear you have caught Covid. Sadly what you say does not surprise me. I hope you feel better soon.
  3. That’s awful Harry - you poor wife. For whatever reason it seems to scare some people if others are wearing a mask and completely beyond me why anyone has to pass such a rude ignore and comment. It surely makes no difference to them, or perhaps they are just frightened little cowards…….
  4. I personally like overnight stays in port, but I do find I don’t sleep so well with the boat being stationary and no engine noise…..
  5. I find it quite shocking that on some cruises the speciality restaurants are closed and not available. Apart from extremely disappointed and unhappy passengers, P&O must be concerned about the lost revenue that these places generate. Certain cutbacks can be forgiven in the current climate - but the ability to eat somewhere different / more upmarket than the MDR is inexcusable and it doesn’t bode well for the future.
  6. Yes. 110 nights on Aurora on a world cruise 10 years ago. A fabulous experience and loved every moment…. As a solo passenger I went to places I never thought I would ever visit (like China, India and Vietnam) and made life long friends who I still cruise with.
  7. I am dipping my toe back in the water (so to speak) and have booked a 7 night cruise on Aurora for next summer. Hopefully she will still be in service then. With just a deposit of £70 it seemed silly not to!
  8. Sounds like a wonderful weekend. So pleased concert lived up to expectations.
  9. Felt exactly the same as you re the Jubilee concert and the Pageant. I hope your Mum enjoys her birthday.
  10. I totally agree with all you said Sarah….. How are you feeling today? Gill
  11. Me too. Remember them all well. I actually bought some Fry’s chocolate creams a few weeks ago from our local Nisa supermarket who had it on promotion. Still as sickly sweet as ever, but I ate it all!
  12. Thoroughly enjoyed reading about your cruise Sarah. Start counting down to the next one now! Safe journey home.
  13. I think it is due to bad weather…..
  14. Loving your posts Sarah……
  15. Enjoy every moment…….
  16. Ha ha. Olly Smith is the wine guy from Saturday Kitchen (and watching him now). You may be thinking of singer Olly Murs who won XFactor….🤣🤣🤣
  17. Yes, there were fridges in Aurora inside cabins on my last cruise Dec 2019….
  18. Putting aside the debate of whether mask wearing on board is needed or not needed, P&O really need to make the rules (and any potential consequences) absolutely crystal clear to passengers and crew before and during each cruise and not deviate unless circumstances dictate…… it is like the dress code - not always enforced if a passenger challenges the rules (seen that happen so many times).
  19. No words……… but am thinking of you. Sending a hug. Gill x
  20. You are nearly there Sarah…! Hope all goes well with your Mum and Dad’s tests and then have a truly fantastic cruise. The first one is always so very magical. Bon Voyage……. Gill x
